The transfers in the WBB program have been remarkable over the years. They aren’t the only program losing kids obviously and with the portal thriving, it’s going to get even worse. Finding kids willing to sit is going to be more of a challenge. Everyone wants to play / start. I get it but with 15 scholarships, it’s going to be tough keeping everyone happy. Teri Is probably a demanding coach. She looks to see kids coming in for extra work, ones looking to improve on their time. Not a big surprise. She started the season getting descent minutes but Gulbe outplayed her. Losing her & Noveroske. IU could use some size for sure and Maybe a Quick scoring PG. IU still has a nice core coming back but could use a couple more scorers off the bench transferring in. IU still has 2 true frosh incoming. Both look like they can be solid players. Both big guards. Would assume IU will dip into the portal as well. IU could use a quick PG to replace Wilson, someone who can hit some 3s. IU could also use another center / PF. Danielle Patterson hasn’t announced yet if she intends to return but she opted out similar to Jaelyn Penn. Her minutes went down as Gulbe’s increased. OG’s Defense has been outstanding. 13 rebounds last night. Really defended well in addition. What a steal for Toronto to get him late in the 1st round. Surprised neither Dunham or Richardson taken. Another couple rounds, both probably gone off the board. IU will be loaded with a large roster. Not sure how many of the seniors will come back for the extra year. A solid freshman class coming but would assume some guys that might ordinarily have a chance to play as freshman could redshirt due to roster numbers. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

The instate transfers from this season are worrisome, particularly Allen, the reigning Miss Basketball. Negative recruiting momentum coming off a really good season is unfortunate. Patterson looks to be a good transfer but long term, you have to build classes from HS seniors. If there is any sense that IU is not a desired place to send their players from HS and AAU coaches, that can hurt long term. Perception is reality. If the perception is “there’s a problem” down there , it can hurt with recruiting. Is it enough to give up on Moren? I don’t think so but it’s something to watch. That being said, I will say 15 scholarships in WBB is a large number. Hard to play that many players. Can imagine there would be frustration from those riding the bench. Agree. This is a good IU team but it’s not the most athletic. Especially after losing Bendu. I didn’t understand why she didn’t start Holmes in 2nd half. Maryland couldn’t stop her in the 1st and by the time she got in the 3rd. Maryland had surged ahead. Chanel needs to play a little more. She has good quickness. Patterson should help them Next year but I think Teri’s got to recruit more quickness, inside and backcourt perhaps using the transfer portal if she can find someone who can help.
