……so Dolson should have a meeting with the players and get a feel where they are all at. I know the players don’t make the coaching decisions, per se, but their input is pretty important. Why put spend money and fill up the car if nobody wants or needs a ride?

Back in the day when Coach Knight was (king/in his prime), all the fans hung around because they couldn't wait to hear what he would say about the team and the players.....They were always very entertaining, as many of us old timers remember. Some of his quotes on senior night have been well documented.....because it was Coach Knight. Coach Woodson needs to walk the walk way better, before he can "talk the talk" during senior night.

.....tell me where Leal actually attacks IU fans from what he said..... I just don't see it. If you think it's because he says "there's a reason you guys aren't coaches, so relax or .....you guys need to chill!" He is just addressing the fans to just calm down and obviously relax/chill. The part about, ...."there's a reason you guys aren't coaches", who cares! If some of you all think that was too strong or feel like being attacked, then IMO your way too sensitive. Good grief, maybe he said a little more then he anticipated, I don't know, ....but give him a little grace for sticking with this program as long as he has, getting limited playing time AND loosing a very close friend. Leal, a Bloomington South graduate, said he wanted to "make something very clear." "Adversity is part of sports," Leal said. "For those of you who are so quick to give up and call for quits and everything, there's a reason that you guys aren't coaches. So you relax. There's no other coach in the country that I would trust with anything in my life than coach Woodson. There's no other university that I would like to represent. I love Malik's motor and ability, but IMO he comes across as a bit selfish at times. I mean, when he gets the ball at the low post anywhere near the basket, 9 times out of 10 his head is down and going to the hole. Team know this and prepare to dbbl and triple team him. When he begins to turn/pivot towards the basket he sometimes, lazily brings his hands down/through slower and that is where he get in trouble....

You can tell his just an overall good kid. He seems always be well spoken, confident and intelligent.

Though it was a somewhat ugly game, IU definitely wanted it more. I credit IU's upgraded defensive play as well as X relaxing a bit. Remember, both losses to Penn St. were brutal, and no X. The first loss at home was by 14 and we gave up 12 3's, the second one at Penn St. was by 9 and we gave up 9 3's. You have to admit, there is something to this 5 game win streak. The real test will be tonight vs. the Huskers. We will see how well our defense has improved if we can slow down and limit Tominaga. I just hope we get enough rest.

.....as of late the boys do look like they are pushing the ball down the court a bit more, especially on defensive rebound. I feel X's last game, was one of his worst as far as ball security and placement. I just hope they went back to the film and tried to get that settled down. Obviously, with both Penn St. losses X was injured and didn't play. Galloway scored 12 and 11 in both games. GO IU.

I hate that X playing so poorly on his senior night. He is the biggest reason we struggled late in the game.

I love watching them. Here’s how good they are…..Their two post players are a bit gimpy. Holmes (knee injury) hasn’t played yet but is available and Meister with a gimpy is now playing. My point is, they are starting 5 guards, because they are that deep in various positions.

Mike doesn’t want to do all the footwork that’s required in recruiting because he didn’t have to in the NBA… Well, this is a major requirement to get out, meet players and families, as well as sitting in the comfort of recruit’s homes.

Let's face it, this utter fire storm would have been briefly avoided if the press release would have been held off until seasons end. I would have felt better if it said,....."At this time, Coach Mike Woodson will be returning next year."
