We do understand that these kids are stringing coaches and programs along for social media clout, right? They answer these coaches the way they answer the media: recruit speak. These ridiculous top 15s to 10s to 8-6-4-2s up to a commitment are largely a gigantic waste of time for coaches. But they have to play along to get the player. I don’t think it’s ‘who are we’. I think it’s ‘who does this kid want to be’. Competition for highlight reel time isn’t as stiff there. This isn’t in any way an indictment on his character because I’m not in position to make that call. But what we typically see from most kids is the destination where they’re going to get the most exposure. And for him, that’s probably Creighton.
