  1. I just went through 17 pages and only saw Pam Whitten mentioned once. I could be wrong because it was a quick glance and I didn't fully read every comment. But it's nuts not to recognize the value of leadership from the top. When she became the 19th president of IU on July 1, 2021 is when the budget, spotlight, and resources shifted to the true revenue maker in college sports. She understood this on day one. No other president in the history of the school ever made such a paradigm shift for the university. And it paid off. It didn't happen over night, if you recall IUFB shook the trees for a couple of years prior to Curt Cignetti. They, meaning the top brass (Whitten and Dolson), built the infrastructure, hired the right staff, moved to contemporary jobs, and, most importantly, raised the funds that were needed. Once that happened, they did the coaching search. It took roughly 4 years to get to the point where IUFB is today. I firmly believe had any IUFB coach gone 6-6 or 7-6 over the last two years he'd be in an incredibly hot seat right now. The vision isn't 6-6 and that started when Whitten got hired. The brand isn't 6-6. Having a shot at the CFP is the brand. Understand this. Bloomington is now a place to be on Saturday's during the Fall. 50, 60 thousands come in and basically get a Little 5 every home game. This is the IU student experience today. The fans are showing up! This is her vision. Whitten and Dolson aren't done. IUBB will reap the benefits of her vision. Revenue. Revenue from IUFB will help this process. If DeVries doesn't produce to a standard, he'll be gone. That's the M.O. of this current administration, as it should be in my opinion. Coaching matters. You either have it or you don't. Is the IUBB culture dead? No. Does it need a jolt? Yes. But make no mistake, the top brass isn't treating IUBB like an intramural sport. Give it time and have faith.
  2. Effin McCollum. That creep can roll, man.
  3. Well, he did win all 16 games he coached last year.
  4. 7:31 - 7:38... these seven seconds are the most glorious seven seconds in all of a seven second sequences throughout the entire history of mankind.
  5. Didn't McCollum get offered the job and he turned it down for Iowa or was that just a rumor?
  6. I've got them in the final four losing to SJU in one of my brackets.
  7. I don't understand PI in general anymore. Lol
  8. Fair catch kick rule is now in effect. It was only in the NFL and high school. The rule allows a team to kick after a completed or awarded fair catch. The kick will be a FG place kick with a holder or a drop kick from the spot where the returner caught the ball. Targeting rule change as well. The nuts and bolts of it is suspension time. 1st time offenders the player is disqualified for the remainder of the current game but is allowed to play the next game. 2nd time offenders the player is disqualified for the remainder of the current game and first half of the next game. 3rd time offenders the player is disqualified for the remainder of the current game and miss the entire next game. Conferences can appeal a 2nd offense to the NCAA which can include a review of the 1st offense. Offensive pass interference rule change. OPI is reduced from a 15-yard penalty to 10 yards.
  9. It's still an uphill battle if I had to guess. But promising nonetheless. They almost just look like Badgers. LOL! All joking aside, I wish both of them the best of luck and hope they decide to spend their college years in the 812.
  10. Top 100 IOL out of Sussex, WI 247 On3 Twin brother of Hunter Mallinger who is also in the mix. This offer might be the deciding factor to land them. Wisconsin is heavy in the running though.
  11. Totally normal. IUFB is on top of the College Football world. Totally normal, nothing to see here. Same ole, same ole. Honestly though, this is effin' insane, man. I don't think I'll ever come off of this cloud, ever.
  12. Best of luck to him. I need to get used to seeing a decommit from IUFB end up with a 5 star rating and commit to O$U like Timmons last year.
  13. It's always been there and for some reason P4 schools passed up on him.
  14. Looks like his P4 coaching record is pretty consistent. Best of luck to him next season. Hopefully he learned some things that he can take to improve the program. I enjoy IUBB but admittedly I don't really focus all that much on them. It's not that I don't want to support IUBB because for me, basketball in general is hard to watch these days. I'm a bit old school and my 'get off my lawn' attitude doesn't help matters either. However, I am aware enough to see the differences between good teams compared to average/bad teams. I'm able to see development throughout a season and this team did not develop. They seemed to be a 'good team' but the wheels feel off. I don't know what happened to them, maybe there was something on film our competition noticed and exploited it, maybe the team wore down in conference play, maybe they just hit a slump at a horrible time, or maybe it's all the above. I don't have a clue, as I already mentioned I don't really focus on it. But I do hope Coach DeVries figures how to put good teams on the court at a consistent basis year after year because I know the fanbase (myself included) is starving for that 'good team' consistency.
  15. Scheduled a second visit April 24. He visited the Wisconsin game last year. Va. Tech might be the school that lands him if I had to guess.
  16. Top 40 S out of Springfield, VA 247 On3 ESPN
  17. Top 20 Edge out of Ramsey, NJ 247 On3
  18. ND hired a new DB coach (Coach Aaron Henry) and it was Coach Henry that offered him. IUFB offered ND commit Ace Alston (Cincy area recruit as well) so I'm assuming both DB coaches (Coach Ojong and Coach Henry) look for similar traits in a recruit. Coach Henry was Illinois' DC last year. Makes me wonder if ND is looking to simulate some of the stuff IUFB is doing.
  19. Picked up an offer from ND. We need to get used to this. Hopefully he signs for IUFB.
