  1. Yeah time will tell for sure. They might get more traffic to SoFi due to location and experience. Regarding the venue experience, taking a family to check out a UCLA game over a Rams or Chargers game might be a little cheaper. Also the coastal (socioeconomically deeper pockets) alumni base will be more inclined to catch a game as well. Who knows, though.
  2. Yeah I was thinking this (save time outs) when it happened.
  3. I've been to both venues and they both have pros and cons. For nostalgic reasons, watching IUFB play in the Rose Bowl last year was pretty freakin awesome. But watching the Colts play in SoFi this year was an overall better experience for me personally. I think this is probably a better move for UCLA due to location. Time will tell though.
  4. I don't know the overall scheme but if I had to guess, Becker was the WR left with the best matchups. I'm assuming both Coop and Williams had a lot of attention in the coverages? Honestly, no clue though.
  5. Game 10 in the books. IUFB 27 PSU 24 Monster game for the entire team. Charlie Becker. So much can be said about this game but for me it will always be called The Catch. Next game: Wisconsin
  6. "Coach Cig is starting to rub many B1G programs and coaches the wrong way." LOL! Welcome to our pain and suffering for the 100+ years prior to having an actual football coach. Here's the thing though, I don't see our curb stomps as running up the score. We basically put it in cruise control once the game is in hand. Yeah we have the foot on the gas but it's not like IUFB is going full throttle. Breaking a team's will is something this coaching staff is accustomed to and coached to the players. Am I wrong? He's been this way since day one. Break his opponent's will. Since day one. "Football's a very humbling game and there's always someone out there that can get the measure of you." -Bill Parcells
  7. Poop man, you can can drink beer in class during lectures. Beer is everywhere in Wisconsin.
  8. This list just tells me that the Midwest is keeping it real baby!! Ball St. even made the list.
  9. PSU will be ready to play. We must bring our best and be limit mistakes.
  10. Game 9 in the books. IUFB 55 Maryland 10 Injuries. We got key players banged up. No Fisher, Sarratt, Franke, and Evans for this game. That didn't stop the Hoosiers from putting the beat down. Good to see the back-ups step up. Next game: At Penn State
  11. Yeah, Mockobee is 812 through and through. I got to see him play during high school. I wasn't the least bit surprised of his success. Coincidently, the guy replacing him, Antonio Harris, is another 812 kid from the same county and a 'cross town' rival (although that rivalry has been dormant for years). To my understanding it's picking back up in 2026. A lot of similarities with paths, both preferred walk-ons. I got see a ton of Harris play high school. Harris pretty much played wherever he was needed (WR, RB, QB, and some FS). Both guys were studs in high school and fit the Coach Cig mold of production over potential.
  12. Gotcha. I'll take a look.
  13. I haven't noticed anything like that at all. I hear him give praise to all of his coaching staff. In the post game UCLA presser he gave a nice complement to Shanahan about being able to call plays at the right time. The most recent praise about Haines was because Coach Cig was specifically asked about Haines.
  14. We're getting the 'real' Coach Cig this year. Last year he had to "Change the way people think." He's reported multiple times that it was pretty much near dead and was irked about the culture he saw in like minutes he stepped on campus. He just recently said on PMS that he chewed Dolson's ars as well. Like, he had to 'change the way people think' from top to bottom and this wasn't his first rodeo. Regarding the "Google Me" comment, he was reading the room and probably could have been diagnoses with sleep deprivation, but he basically had enough of some of the questions he was being asked. The question in particular, Todd Golden with, at the time, CNHI Indiana, was about how does Coach Cig sell his vision to both HS and portal recruits. And to be fair, the initial question that was asked was a jumbled mess of word salad. Coach Cig told him he didn't even understand what was the question. It was a mic drop moment for IUFB on epic proportions. The presser was the 2023 December signing period. Here's a link to the presser. I just rewatched it and he effin' told us how it was going to be and pretty insightful overall. No one (the media/press) listened.
  15. Game 8 in the books. IUFB 56 UCLA 6 The Nandolorian is something special to witness. He made some really impressive throws. He'll be a finalist for the Heisman. The D did what they do. Some players hit with some injuries during the game. Both Aiden Fisher and kicker Brendan Franke did not return. Mikail Kamara was evaluated in the tent during the game but returned. Next game: At Maryland
  16. I'm strictly talking about his FG attempts. He played a massive role in our win at Autzen. Franke misses that 58 yard FG going into the half, than that game potentially changes for the worse. There will be another scenario where we'll have to make a 50+ yard attempt in a crucial situation. That's just how it works and having that reliable option in your back pocket makes play calling much easier and doesn't create any limitations when trying to get points. It's potentially a massive massive loss if he's unable to kick. Radicic will have to step it up and who knows what is max range is. Regarding KO, before the UCLA game, Franke was leading the nation in TB with 46 and only giving up 2 returns. That's a very big deal because it limits any potential 'hidden yardage'. Hidden yardage is a stat that play a big role in field position. ST is the 3rd phase of the game that typically win games (field position through hidden yardage, blocks, etc. etc.) and the average fan doesn't really know that's that case. I like to compare it to the 'hustle stat' in basketball. You don't really see the importance of it until you see it, if that makes sense.
  17. Franke is our long ball FG attempts as well. I'm assuming we lost him for a significant amount of time. It would be a massive massive loss. Let's hope my assumption is wrong and he's able to return.
  18. 3 total games with the current offensive coordinator (zero experience with only 3 games on his resume) at UCLA. Completely new offensive and defensive philosophy. The current DC (Kevin Cole) has way more experience than their previous DC (Ikaika Malloe). So I'm not too worried about planning for the D considering Coach Cole has decades of film to study. But it also goes both ways. Coach Cole has the experience to plan and make situational play call as well. I would consider they actually upgraded with Coach Cole. He's an old timer with a ton of experience. Like a lot of experience. Regarding our common opponent, the UCLA defense held MSU to 13 points at East Lansing. The UCLA offense put up 38 in the same game. IUFB had the same exact score with the luxury of playing in the 812. This tells me the UCLA players are on the same talent level as IUFB. The QB is a dual threat (leading the team in rushing) much like ODU's with a much much better arm. And predicting what an offense might do with an OC that has no prior stops to study film makes it a tougher challenge to game plan. It just does. This team is different than it was at the beginning of the season and that's why I think this game is going to be close. Look, I could be complete off on this. Or at least I want to be.
  19. Top 20 DL out of Owings Springs, MD 247 ESPN On3
  20. I just think the game is going to be close. The sample size to scout is small. I hope I'm completely wrong. I'm actually more worried about this game than I was against Illinois. But I was also worried about last week against MSU as well. So, there's that.
  21. They've clearly turned around things. Let's hope we have enough film to scout the turn around.
  22. Yes. Probably a lot of potential targets to be honest. He's probably just letting everyone know from his neck of the woods that there's something special going on in the 812 area. And there is. But keep in mind, the staff has a 4 hour drive radius approach first and foremost.
