  1. Honestly, I think both the Illinois and Iowa staff probably thought their offensive line was better.
  2. Yeah, I started watching that ANF Podcast and just cringed to hear them talk about our defensive front. These guys know ball. Dude just said, "one of the underlying best stories in college football is Cignetti's defensive line development and talent evaluation." The cat's out of the bag folks. I was hoping this could have stayed silent for at least a few more games. I've been consistently saying the D will be the reason IUFB wins big time football games this year. The Coach Cig offense is gonna offense. It's the defense that's the secret sauce.
  3. Culture of Winning Curt Cignetti: 135-37 Aiden Fisher: 35-7 Elijah Sarratt: 36-7 Mikail Kamara: 54-10 D'Angelo Ponds: 27-4 Kaelon Black: 54-10 Pat Coogan: 49-11 This is IUFB now. Enjoy it while we can folks!!!
  4. Game 5 in the books. IUFB 20 Iowa 15 The Nandolarian to Elijah Sarratt. The front 7 shut down a very good front 5 on their turf. Played with grit. I believe this is the first time in school history they've started consecutive seasons 5-0. I could be wrong. It's Coach Cig and staff 4th consecutive season starting 5-0. Next game: @ Oregon Ducks
  5. Yesterday I watched the Football in 60 Iowa game on BTN and at the end of the game there was a stat about IUFB starting 5-0 two straight seasons. I think it's the first time is school history or something. It got me thinking about the coach. Curt Cignetti and staff have gone 4 straight seasons starting 5-0 and 6 straight seasons starting 4-0.
  6. UO will utilize what IUFB couldn't do against Iowa so that just means Coach Cig has to figure out a way to audible on the road. Otherwise we'll see a lot of the same we saw in Iowa City. Not being able to change play calls is a bfd. The front 5 will have their hands full. Our front 7 on D will be challenged but I still think they'll create havoc. And having a healthy secondary is key to getting the possible upper hand. The D will be the reason for a W. Kind of like it was for last week. No one will notice it and that is preferable for me. And holy poop our boys are going to be juiced for this game! I'm looking forward to this one folks.
  7. I'm not sure your tone here so I hope you understand I'm just trying to follow you here based on your very 1st comment about Alberto Mendoza. The 'dramatic' improvement he needs is experience or upperclass experience? For me, there's a difference. Regardless, you still really don't explain what's your basis for 'dramatic' improvement. Because the way you describe it tells me you're seeing something not good and quite frankly I am not seeing something dramatic. That's why I'm asking. Or maybe I'm just not fully understanding you, which is quite possible.
  8. So you'll be disappointed if Alberto Mendoza is our next QB because he's not an upperclassman? I'm not following you. Sorry. I think it's safe to say it wasn't "upper class" that was valued these last two years but more so experience at the FBS level. I'm confident the current QB room is getting up to speed with this level of football. Keep in mind, it was this year's starting QB's backup that got him up to speed with how things are done in Bloomington. Look, the transfer portal is what it is. We might see brand new QBs transfer in every year. I do think however, that's not the preferred approach with this staff. I could be wrong though. Regardless, all of these QBs, including Jameson Purcell, have a chance to compete for the staring position next year. That's a guarantee.
  9. Yeah man, we're in great shape regardless who's the general on the field next year.
  10. On what basis? He's played in 4 games during garbage time. His 12 total pass attempts has a completion accuracy rate of 77% and his rushing attempts are far better polished then his older brother. Meaning, he can break one loose and see the field much better than his brother. His high school resume is actually better than his older brother's and most importantly, he's a worker with confidence that trickles down to his team. There's a reason the coaching staff wanted him right out of high school. During high school, his football IQ level was off the charts! Regardless of who is taking snaps next season, IUFB is in really good shape having Alberto in the locker room. I'd be surprised if he's not taking snaps next year. It would just mean we somehow got an extremely exceptional QB ahead of him during the off season.
  11. Ha! Yeah man, that's not my style.
  12. Yeah, I've said what I said. This type of scrutiny is way way way too early. But that's just me. Y'all be you.
  13. A lot of schools are getting "blue blood" now! Again, he doesn't have a losing record right now. That's the reality.
  14. Tough crowd. He doesn't even have a losing record right now. And he ain't coaching a prominent blue blood ta boot.
  15. I don't disagree with expectations. But instant gratification type of expectations isn't really evaluating someone's own reality. 4 games. He's currently 2-2. Way way way too early for this type of column. It's poor taste and should be called out.
  16. Yeah, I didn't get any of that out of it. After a grand total of... 4 games the writer goes off on the coach for what? Being 2-2? Losing by big margins? Having a girlfriend that finds 70+ year old men attractive? His legacy? Prior to Tom Brady, his head coaching career record was 41-55 .427. After Tom Brady, his head coaching record, including UNC, is 31-40 .436. His total record without Tom Brady on his roster is a grand total of 72-95 .431. I'd say without a certain player he doesn't really have a legacy to tarnish. Who's really laughing? The country or just the impatient keyboard warriors wanting instant gratification after 4 games into a 1st year coach with a complete overhaul of a roster along with the way the program used to run things? What fiasco? It's 4 games into his 1st season. How much money is spent on every player at every P4 school? I'd fully understand if this writer wanted to criticize the university because they hired a below average coach without a certain player on his roster. But personally, I still wouldn't criticize the university this early. It's only 4 games into this experiment. It's a hit piece and the guy writing it comes of as ****** bag with some sort of personal vendetta. To what exactly, I'm not sure. At least that's what I got of the the column. But that's just me.
  17. Please explain it to me than, thanks.
  18. Paul and about 90% of his colleagues are lazy af. Average joe's like myself saw this coming from a mile away. The laziness has got to be called out at some point. I don't care that he has 'came around' IUFB's brand. His paycheck says he should have came around last year after the Michigan game. Coach Cig said in his hiring day presser that we was going to change the brand of Indiana Hoosier football. The story writes itself and was served up on a platter December 1, 2023. Lazy. Absolutely lazy journalism.
  19. Eff sake. This writer just basically wrote an article that said he watched Herbsuck's podcast. He didn't provide any other information. These guys are lazy af. And for the love of everything that is whatever can we just stop with the whole villain mentality label!!! Herbsuck has got to be overworked because he clearly hasn't taken the proper amount of time to understand what the 2025 team is compared to the 2024 team. If he did he wouldn't have been all that surprised with the curb stopping our beloved Hoosier delivered last week. He and Joey Galloway both had no clue about this year's team and they're getting paid, a lot, to know about this team, especially it being 1 of the 12 teams from last's years CFP. IT'S LAZY!!!! These two regular joe's from 'Always Talkin' Ball: A College Football Podcast' did the work (BACK IN JULY!!!!) that the two O$U brand name only effs didn't. I'm so effin' tired of the laziness the big wigs have when it comes to their job. It's bad for the game.
  20. I don't understand the point of this opinion piece. Is he mad at the state of North Carolina? The writer comes off as a petulant child. Seriously, what's the point of this write up? Someone, please explain it to me.
  21. Iowa's front 5 will be the toughest we face so far this season. They're the real deal. I think this game will be won or lost by our D.
  22. I'm not a big ratings system guy but I still like to see what the multiple algorithms are outputting. Massey Ratings does a composite and after week 4 here's the top 10. O$U IUFB Oregon Ole Miss UGA Canes Sooners LSU PSU Aggies That EA Sports College Football 26 Freshman level of difficulty style game against Illinois really did a number to some of these computer calculations.
