  1. We should listen to those national media guys. They know what they are talking about... They just want us to get someone in there who won't improve so that they can tell us they were right about Crean. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. Personally, I don't hate him at all. Just can't tell me we would even consider him without his IU ties. Much like Crean, he's been around long enough that you know what you have in him. He's not the home run hire we all want. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. That's what you get with positionless basketball. Instead of having your players play to their strengths, you get big men handling the ball in situations they shouldn't and guards being mismatched and giving up easy buckets. In my opinion, Davis was leaving if Crean was back. I believe he had enough in one season to know he wouldn't be able to show his true potential under Crean. I heard rumblings to that affect as well. 4. Dakich is much easier to take when you realize 99% of what he says is to try to emote enough of a response that it makes people tune into his show. I've learned to ignore him and his show because I'm uninterested. If he was half as smart as he thought he was, he'd have a coaching job. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. Glass knows for sure that this hire will define his tenure at IU. I lost a little faith in him over his handling of the whole NIT home game ordeal, but I'm pretty convinced he totally understands what this hire means to his future. Given the remarks from his presser, I have to believe he already has the successor lined up, or at least has enough info that he has a pretty good idea who legitimate candidates are. IMO, he doesn't make many of those comments without some idea he isn't settling for his 7th or 8th choice. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. The Wizard of Odd... (Do not look at the man behind the curtain)
  7. Look, I don't have anything bad to say about the guy. I don't know him personally and have never spoken to anyone who had more than second-hand information about him. This story about buying up all the papers is just further indication to me that Crean was a master manipulator of the press. Look at how many people in the press "considered him a friend" or said he was a great man. It just seems to me that he every effort he could to get those guys on his side so that what was reported was always watered down. I turly wish the guy the best. I think IU has set him up well for whatever he wants to do. I thank him for getting us back to respectability. He is a good coach, for a program that doesn't have the expectations that IU has.
  8. They didn't have to look far. Come on. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. His incoming class is much better than ours!
  10. I totally get what you're saying and I think you're right, but calling NBA the highest level is about like calling professional wrestling the highest level.
  11. I agree the decision was bad. It should have happened last week. They might be making a NIT run now.
  12. I'll take that bet!
  13. Fife isn't my first choice, but at this point, its movement in a new direction.
  14. Why wouldn't you do it today? I mean any reasonable thinking... oh, never mind. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  21. I hope when Fred meets with the boosters they tell him that the fact the he can't make a decision on his own is a clear sign the athletic department needs a new direction. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  23. I'll stay here until we get to 1000, but I'm officially ready to move over to the Fire Fred Glass page. The longer he lets this fester, the more I realize where the root cause lies. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. This is the problem with Crean. In his pressers, he simply states the obvious and acts like it's some revelation that only he is able to figure out. Believe me, everyone with half an ounce of sense knows you have to get better. What he never states is how. How are you going to get better? How are you going to quit turning the ball over? How are you going to teach defense? How are you going to start getting your players to play as a team? If you don't know how, you are simply talking. To me, all good coaches understand that a team is like a recipe, and if you don't have all of the correct ingredients in the correct proportions, you never know how it is going to turn out. Every once in awhile, it turns out pretty well, but the next batch you make might be totally unpalatable. Tom is just throwing ingredients in there, as long as he thinks they are good quality. He doesn't seem to understand that it has to be balanced. If it is screwed up, what has to be added to attain that balance.? This is my problem with him as a coach. He hasn't figured out how to have a balanced roster, team, approach, program, etc. So now the ball if firmly in Fred's court. I think he is a pretty smart guy, so I have been hesitant to really bash him. I understand why people are not so hesitant though. This whole home court thing was handled about as poorly as possible. Basically, Fred is putting all the blame on the fans. No one would have shown up. He had weeks to come up with a better solution, and this was what we, the fans, got from him. Fred, these are the same fans that no one could stop talking about on a national stage for the NC game. My hope is that Fred has been doing his job behind the scenes as we have been left to speculate what is happening. Now it is time for him to show his leadership and stop this languishing soap opera and make his decision known. This is his job. This is his time to show that he is in control and capable of standing up for whatever decision he makes, and facing the consequences. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  25. Kind of running out of things to talk about, so I had a funny thought today. In every way I can think of, Tom Crean is the exact opposite of Bob Knight. I mean, I could make a list. From game management, to media relations, tempo, strategy... I really can't think of one way they are not opposed. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
