  1. Really not hard to understand his inflated ego when you see that.
  2. He won't do it - let me just say I understand that before going any further - but he would do best to get an assistant job somewhere, either NBA or college. All the things he has said about leadership are exactly what his teams lacked. I really think he's in a position where he doesn't know what he doesn't know. He would be a really great assistant somewhere, but his hyperactivity and ego won't allow it.
  3. I totally agree, but I think it's pretty tough from a legal standpoint to force a kid to stay in school. I mean, they have to keep their grades up, etc. The NBA should let them go straight from HS though. I mean, several players, including Kobe and Lebron have done that. The only thing a year does is allow the NCAA to make money off of them for a year. Makes one wonder if its all the NBA, or if they have an agreement with the NCAA.
  4. Okay, in your eyes that was asinine. Summer classes were done and fall semester was starting and we still had too many players. Tell me, where was the scholarship coming from if someone wasn't ran off? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. I was just trying to be funny. Seemed like everything was taken too seriously. Most of the time I'm just joking around and trying to have fun on here. This site is my escape from the serious world out there. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. Well, if true, it obviously was a solution. Pretty hard to imagine Crean knew that was going to happen though.
  7. That is true, but if we had a scholarship available, do you think he would have "fully qualified?" I personally think it would have been a non-issue. My whole thing with Crean was his whole approach to recruiting. He would offer 15 kids for 2 scholarships. He didn't seem to recruit based on need, and didn't seem to have any real plan. Every year he over recruited because it seemed he couldn't stand the thought of a single scholarship going unclaimed. It was almost like an addiction.
  8. I am going off of memory and what I read at the time, but he took summer classes at IU, but didn't fully qualify to IU's standards. I swear I remember that he met the NCAA standards, but not IU's, (but maybe I'm wrong about that). We were without a doubt oversigned and someone needed to go. it seemed like this was the way "everything worked itself out". If there was any cheating or flunking involved, I did not read about it, but it may not have been public knowledge.
  9. I had never read about him cheating, but that he didn't "fully qualify". He took summer courses at IU. How did he do that if he wasn't admitted?
  10. I'm not sure what you are missing, but I do know there wasn't a scholarship available for him. 13-14=-1 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. You seem very angry, Tom. Is everything alright?
  12. Ron Patterson could answer that better than anyone here. Probably the "movement" to the end of TCTC in-state recruiting.
  13. I agree. I always pause when something like this happens. It's always difficult to substantiate anything but the official story in a place few have access. I've read tons of information over the years about several conspiracies. Totally agree on Oswald. I think anyone who took the time to logically look at all the evidence would be hard pressed to believe the official story. Actually, didn't congress come out saying that the official story wasn't correct a few years ago?
  14. You would have to think (hope, pray) that a year of experience and some coaching will help with the fouling problem. I'm with you though - I thought TB would be the first to leave when Crean was fired.
  15. Really, you don't? Crean did it every year (except for the year he should have called a press conference announcing a second rebuild). From what I've heard and read, Miller wanted to do as much as he could for continuity. Obviously, he knew about the oversign situation, and I still think he knows things we don't. What I'm saying is this is his first month on the job. Before we make sweeping comparisons of him and Crean, let's give him a season or two. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. I've wondered the same thing about a guy like Priller. If he will have his degree after this semester, maybe he is willing to move on, knowing the scholarship situation.
  17. I was surprised how frank he was about Crean's lack of consistency and his constant excuses. Good to hear from anyone in the media, especially a national guy. I still say Crean spent too much time stroking the local media guys so that they supported him. This did nothing to dispel that thought. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. You missed the insane evil laugh at the end. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. I agree with you. It seems pretty unlikely that a guy who didn't mind holding a scholly or two all the sudden wants to start over-signing.
  20. I still wonder about Jones too. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. He's really a combo guard, but he says he wants to be a PG. I hope he develops, because we could really use a PG. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. I would guess that many of the upper tier players want to hear teams say, "if you're available at this spot, we are likely to take you" kind of thing, and others are just looking for what team will sign them to a FA contract, and others merely want to know what they have to do to make it. Where I think it may actually be a disservice to those players is if a player goes through the evaluation one year and is told you need to improve on X, Y and Z, and you don't. Sometimes you just are what you are, and now a team knows that instead of thinking they can coach you up, which may make you less attractive.
  23. I suspect there is probably something to any or all of those.
  24. But... the NCAA would not be able to make million$ off of them. It's not good for college or the NBA, but it's good for the NCAA's pocketbook. I think the NBA wanted the D-League as an alternative, but it just doesn't have the draw and exposure that college does.
