  1. But I haven't heard anything about LEO. Did I miss that?
  2. Wasn't the AD responsible for the oval IU logo?
  3. We consistently get burned by players who "aren't good enough" to get an IU offer, but many continue to default to the rankings. Personally, I think its a lazy way to evaluate players. Seriously, does anyone think the same person looks at all top 100 players? I'd love to see the algorithm used to determine level of skill, competition, player drive, intangibles, mental acuity, gym time, etc. How do you really determine that the 28th ranked player will be more successful than the 33rd ranked player? It's fun for fans, but I really don't put much more value in it than that.
  4. Just a curious question, once you put your name in the portal, does the University have to take you back if you rescind?
  5. I've kinda wondered how the trajectory of both teams may have changed if that had turned out differently.
  6. There was a final four after that, but I get what you're saying. It was kind of the end of the year in-year out greatness.
  7. Play caller isn't as important as sign stealer. Get that one right and everything else falls into place. :)
  8. This sounds closer to the truth than anything I've read on here this morning ;)
  9. I believe he is saying that you don't know for fact that those are the finalists.
  10. ...and lucking into Tom Brady is what allowed him to keep his job. Nothing happens in a vacuum. It's not a coincidence that we had Penix and Deboer when Allen had his best years.
  11. Yeah, that's the thing with this team. They're not playing great, but at least they are still winning. I had a bad feeling about this game coming into it, but they managed to pull out the win. Not sure this is sustainable going into conference play though.
  12. I don't see this team having an easy game all season.
  13. Yeah, as much as I hate it, this is the best and most likely move. Like you said, unless we have a slam-dunk hire chomping at the bit, we have another year to dream about mediocrity. Maybe TA will decide for himself to move out/on, but I seriously doubt that will happen. What's one more year of disappointment? It's just IU football.
  14. James Madison > Thomas Izzo
  15. I wish I didn't feel this way, but it would be nice if he had the vision to make the necessary changes BEFORE his back was against the wall. I'll believe last Saturday wasn't a fluke if they don't crap the bed this week. He hasn't given anyone any reason to believe he can sustain success.
  16. I think I gained 2 lbs just reading "6000 calories."
  17. I think this is impossible to under estimate.
  18. I would think it would backfire if they did. Geronimo and DQ are totally different players. That's not even taking into consideration that Miller recruited Geronimo.
  19. Can we get someone else to make the tacos???
  20. It all depends on what the camera footage shows. If it's not the official story, they're known to malfunction :D
  21. I totally agree that Baker is not good, but if you read that rule, it was called incorrectly. It's dependent on who initiated contact, and the Browns player clearly ran into Baker. At the very least, you don't call that because it wasn't a clear violation. But instead, they called a penalty that had absolutely nothing to do with the fumble and recovery. I'm not sure how you can say that didn't effect the outcome. They went from getting a TO to close out the game to giving the Browns yardage and possession. Compound that with the next call that was totally ridiculous, and the fact that it came right at the end of the game, and the refs totally effected the outcome.
  22. Two calls where the refs decided to put their mark on the game. The first had nothing to do with the play, and even then was questionable. The second was clearly an un catchable ball. That game was a microcosm of why I don’t make watching the NFL a priority any more. As it was, I only watched the second half. It was an exciting half until the refs decided to make sure the Browns won.
  23. Lots of doom and gloom here today. We just have to hope that Cupps gets some good experience this year and is ready to start next year. I think (hope) he is going to surprise a lot of people. We are still tending in the right direction, and any reasonable person knew it wasn't going to happen overnight. I always felt like the third year for a new coach is a good tell for the future. Let's hope we keep building and maybe finish better than expectations. If that happens, a couple of these players get drafted, and maybe someone makes a nice jump, I think we're in good shape for the Spring.
