  1. I disagree with many on here. I want a coach who is young and hungry. Someone who has enough experience that they have a plan, but comes in with a chip on their shoulder. Someone who wants to prove they belong. Never really got that from Archie. I think he thought he was smarter than everyone. Certainly not getting that from Woody. He's happy with the job Mike Woodson is doing.
  2. I hate seeing this. I hate even more that you nailed my feelings on the nose. Except for contempt for the administration, I really feel very little towards IU basketball these days.
  3. Frustrating that we are so scared to make a wrong hire, that yet again, we sit on the sidelines and watch everyone else make power moves. I have no idea if May will work in Michigan, but I can tell you that our solution to keep going with a guy who has an outdated philosophy, unfathomable ego, and no recruits does not have a high likelihood of succeeding. To confidently think we are going to put together a team that will be any better than what we saw this year is ludicrous. We are willing to sacrifice yet another year, just to make damn sure the program has been totally flushed down the drain because that should make it really appealing to the great coach we are going to hire next year. I mean, you can't make this **** up!
  4. Why on earth would he want to come here? There is a reason we have to settle whenever we look for a coach. People can blame the fans all they want, but I'm pretty sure the word is out on the clown show that runs things around here. Stroking massive egos seem to be way more important than having a credible basketball program. Whoever thinks they can buy a successful program in the portal every year has way more money than brains. I've been a fan for almost 50 years, but I think I'm reaching my end. This is a total laughing stock disgrace. I'll say again, why would any credible coach want to come here?
  5. I didn't know he was in the portal. I kid...:)
  6. Not a, Crean fan, but I actually think if he had the portal, he would have fared a little better.
  7. Just my opinion, but Trey's assists will go way down without a guy that he can just lob it up to anywhere around the basket. If Trey is our best point, I think we're in trouble. I like him, but just don't think he is a lead point guard.
  8. We're already rolling the dice, why not go for broke. I wonder if connections will translate to commitments.
  9. Maybe, but he commits some head scratching fouls no matter who he is guarding.
  10. May, after a season of watching Woody coach...
  11. To the surprise of no one here, those on the administration that think giving Woody another year is being kind to him, have no foresight whatsoever. His legacy will be worse than this year. Wouldn't surprise me if he retires halfway through the season to avoid the mess at the end, much like the Nebraska game.
  12. I will be stunned if Pearl comes to IU. After watching him after winning the conference tournament, I would be stunned if he wants to leave or if Auburn doesn't pull out all the stops to keep him if he did.
  13. I cant help it they weren't named correctly, man!
  14. He would do really well at IU.
  15. Some things never change...
  16. He's right: coaching talent.
  17. And why do they get that money? Do you think anyone would put that money out without some kind of return? If it had nothing to do with the fans, the NIL would be the same at, say, Indiana Wesleyan as it is at IU.
  18. This makes no sense. Do you know why he is getting a big NIL? Because of the fans. For me, personally, it was the tone, and what he said. Yeah, I'm sure Woodson's comments contributed. I have been a fan of this program since the early 80's. Luckily, I got to see some really good basketball. For the last 20 years though, this program has been totally mismanaged. But all along, it has stayed relevant. Do you know why? Because of the fans. I didn't hear anyone telling the fans to chill out when they were filling Assembly Hall in Crean's first two years when they hardly won a game. The fans have endured this sh*t show when the vast majority of programs would have been left for dead years ago. That is because of these fans who need to chill out. '24 was a critical recruiting year and what do we have to show for it? If anyone can look at the trajectory of this program and say with a straight face that the needle is pointing up, they are as blind as the administration that continues to mismanage it. So for me, having someone act like the fans are supposed to sit idly by and watch this play out again and again, yeah, I take exception to what he said. Pretty soon though, I'm afraid he will get his wish and the fans will chill out.
  19. But he'll put up with it while cashing his check.
  20. This program had needed to get this hire right for the last 20 years, and yet, here we are. Sitting and waiting for next year is just another failure by the administration. Plain and simple.
  21. I'm really having a hard time understanding why anyone thinks this portal method is going to work with this staff. Look at the excuses that were consistently used this year. How is next year going to be any different? How are we going to get any good shooters to come to this team when the offense doesn't do anything to help them? Personally, I see nothing encouraging about sticking with Woodson. All it is going to do is get us another year of irrelevance. The difference between IU and real programs is that they are able to look at the current state and assess what it means for the future and make decisions. IU admin consistently waits until they are painted into a corner and then reacts to the limited options it has left itself with. How many times do we have to see the same movie on repeat to realize the ending doesn't change?
  22. Why thankfully? It's just one more year of mediocrity, and likely missing out on good coaches yet again.
