No doubt, in the grand scheme of the horror story that is IUFB this is still a dream season.

Probably should. IU had their chance and choked in the bright lights. I thought OSU was more talented, but IU was a better team, I was wrong. Got handled in every facet, including coaching. I'd rather they go to some secondary bowl and finish 12-1 than get embarrassed (again) in the CFP.

I don't have anyone in mind to replace Woodson, I just want the best candidate available. Indiana connections are great, but not important. We all have our preferences for style. Don't care. Identify the best candidate and get him. I complained long and loud about Woodson, because I thought he was just hired as an IU guy. Don't make that mistake again. Find the best guy and hire him. Not easy, but simple. Best case scenario is Woodson somehow manages to overperform with this team and chooses to retire on a relative high (B1G championship or Sweet 16, etc.) Then avoids the messy break-up.

This is a moral defeat. IU lost in every way except the scoreboard. Embarrassing, shameful, disgusting, pick your adjective.

Based on tonights performance? Probably everyone's. Rice has scored well, but a lousy game otherwise, along with everyone else.

Not sure this is even the #16 team in the Big Ten, let alone the country. They are dumb and not sure you can fix that.

No kidding, if they mic'd my basement and heard the things I say to/about IU players during games, I'd probably have a SWAT team at my house.

No kidding, the 1-2 punch of helping IU AND embarrassing the Fighting Amish? That is precious. Also #3, Army is a pretty good story in their own right.

I agree and there will be games Hatton is gonna need to play too. Foul trouble, fatigue, match-ups, twisted ankle or whatever, Reneau & Ballo won't cover the post 100% of the time. If either Cupps or Hatton is playing a lot of minutes, probably not great, but need to have them ready when needed.

B1G refs? I can't believe IU is a 12pt underdog. I don't bet, but that is tempting. O$U has tons of talent as always, but in the games I've seen (Oregon, Nebraska, Nwestern) they haven't even looked really good, let alone great. IU might wilt under the spotlight and get rattled by the first bigtime road game environment this year, but I don't think so. I will be utterly shocked IU loses by 12+ pts.

Fickell is an idiot. They had a clear, established & successful identity that translated over several coaching staffs....so they decidet to install the Air Raid! Just plain stupid. Nebraska made a similar mistake 20yrs ago ( remember Bill Callahan and his pro style West Coast Offense?) they've never recovered. Hope the same happens in Madison and they sink back to pre-1990's obscurity where they belong.

I wouldn't say they're the same either. The pieces are there, you can see it, there is talent. But the brain-dead decisions late made it much closer than it should be and they still play really dumb for long stretches. Potential won't bail them out of that. Also, amazing how poorly this team throws lobs. By my count they had 78 turnovers on horrible lobs. It's a win versus a decent, not good team. Hopefully, they learn and grow from it.

This is the WORST lob team in the history of the world. Sheesh guys, figure it out.

It wasn't the most inspiring performance, but it was the first game of the season. The shooting, defensive lapses and inconsistent rebounding seemed disappointingly familiar, but no doubt Rice is a big upgrade and MM has taken a big step up. Gallo looks to be back and Ballo & Reneau are solid, so there are pieces for success. Tucker will have Freshman moments, but appears to be a star in the making. I'm not worried about Goode, he'll come around. Carlyle on the other hand, hasn't shown me anything. No reason to panic, but so far he looks like a defensive stopper off the bench, at best. Hatton is only a 5-6mpg guy too, so need the frontline to stay healthy.

Only challenge left is at Minnesota, but that might be enough. I'm not sold on PSU.

It's ridiculous. Good news is IU controls their destiny, win out and problem solved. Even 2 of 3 with a good showing in Columbus likely does it.

In some thread on here I said if he goes 8-4 and wins a bowl he should get a statue. I stand by that statement.

Nice win against Sexual Assault State! Slow start, but nice to have some adversity to overcome. Great adjustments on both sides of the ball.

Lots of head-scratching officiating this year, but how on earth they could determine he was a foot short from those angles is ridiculous.
