  1. The thing with Max this year fitting in so well was the fact that he wasn't needed to be the sole leader. Yogi had that aspect down for us and post depth was desperate need for us. This isn't the same situation at all. He could very well hardly play at all and that's not a recipe for leadership. Its always been known to be looked up to you have to have talent. I'm not sure after barely being cleared to play basketball again he is in that category and even before the injury he wasn't highly productive. I'd rather see the scholly go elsewhere, but if we have no better options why not? He's only here a yr. I would pass, but I'm not the coach either lol.
  2. The Greek Freak will be an All-Star for years, Victor has a shot as well if the Magic would just get some stability in their organization. So many times this year he played 40 minutes then 20 the next. McCollum is a potential star more so than Victor, but that could change. Cody has played great in spurts as well, but not nowhere near consistent enough yet. Schroeder has potential to as well as Gobert. Crabbe will get paid this offseason as he is a restricted free agent. Gorgei Dieng and Solomon Hill could both do great things with more time. I think this class has turned out even better than people expected. Some said there were no stars but good players and so far that's mostly true, but there are several of these guys who could breakout. Giannis is a star next year as well as McCollum.
  3. It wasn't you or his it was the one comparing him to his brother. Don't worry yourself too much. I just don't get why his brother who has no history of being a bad dude gets brought up.
  4. This is the most talent overall that Crean will have on a team at IU. The Zeller & Oladipo group were more star studded, but this group is deeper 1-13. If we do replace Priller & Troy comes back its even more talent. Gonna be hard to keep everyone happy if your Crean next year.
  5. Why are some taking shots at Green? And saying the way his brother is means bad things about him? Lol man I just don't get it sometimes!! Look at his offer list...plenty GOOD teams were after him. His brother barely got drafted and is a starter on the Spurs won if you watch NBA is saying something in itself. He just got paid and had plenty teams after him before resigning. I haven't heard anything bad about Danny and if it were true I can almost guarantee Popovich wouldn't have wanted him back so bad. Let's stop attacking our own players PLEASE! For all of Creans misses he has a hit for and a lot of coaches just have misses. I'm thrilled to have this kid and think come his junior year he will show a lot of people he was under ranked!! Rankings are so overrated and as IU fans we should know that better than most.
  6. Wow!! That news really sucks, but I had a feeling that's what it was. Kid has a bright future if he rebounds though. I think him and Redding will become NFL prospects at some point. Get well soon Camion.
  7. Coach K is far from a fraud!! He has so much respect through basketball circles that that statement is just ridiculous. Let's not over exaggerate what happened with Thornton. The situation sucks for the kid, but its not a reflection of Coach K. Its a reflection of how college basketball is and has been for years.
  8. Priller really does need to go. Its his junior year and he ain't getting playing time anytime this year. Even his senior year is a long shot, so why waste a scholly? If he wanted to be a walk on, then I'd love to keep him around!! Burton and Niego were both walk ons and played more than him. I don't like the idea of pushing a kid out, but we gave him two years to see what could happen and it just didn't work out. With Troy staying or leaving that should be the case. If Troy leaves we take McSwain and another guy or if he stays we still take McSwain. It sucks saying all that, but this is IU and I can't think of many other big schools that have someone like Priller this long on the roster. Its been two great years to have him and he made the tourney each yr and got a B1G title and a sweet sixteen. We probably gave him two of the best years of his life.
  9. Something wrong with that? I don't think its 10 in discussions I have talked about transfers that others have mentioned first. Morgan, Okonoboh, Simon, Jankovic and now Thornton. Simon was in discussion as well as Morgan and Jankovic. I asked what was going on w Okonoboh, because before today it had been since November since anything was out on him. The other recruits I've talked about are ones that IU is interested in or was. What is the problem with talking about kids interested in IU or kids Crean, our coach is interested in. Literally Thornton and Jankovic are probably 2 of the only ones we haven't been linked to. Jankovic cause we literally can't and Thornton cause he transferred today!! Smh keep an eye out my list will only get longer during the off season as will every common fan of any team.
  10. Justin Jackson sounds like he will be reopening his recruitment. Nothing 100% yet but picked up new predictions in crystal ball. IU was involved at one point. Could be a good troy replacement.
  11. It sucks that the kid has the wrong people in his corner. Smh I loved watching him play and honestly he was one of the most exciting recruits we went after in previous yrs. I hated it when he choose UNLV. IU & OSU would've had this kid in a completely different point right now. I wish the kid the best, but he won't be drafted and likely ruined his chances with this. Should've transferred and continued to get better. Good luck, Goodluck. ;)
  12. IMO Thornton would be an amazing get for us!! I think we go after him honestly. Idk if he will want to go to IU, because of wanting to be closer to home, but this kid is a great player and I always liked his attitude. Reminded me of Yogi his freshmen year. I say we put all our chips on this kid. If Troy leaves we only have one spot open. With all the guards we have it will be hard to see the desperate need, but I just think he could be special here.
  13. The one thing that people don't pay attention to more than anything when it comes to smaller players, is their ability to create offense for themself. Whether they are 5'9 or 6'5 as a PG. Isiah Thomas doesn't let his size bother him, because his ability to create is amazing. Just like there are taller PG's that struggle doing this. Yes, more height has its advantages, but if you are good at creating your own shot than it takes away how important the size of the individual player is. With that said Ulis is purely a better prospect than Yogi for one reason. The talent is close and ulis is younger, so why not go for a kid that has two years of almost identical talent more than the other? Yogi IMO is a good NBA prospect and I think he will be drafted and make a team. His pick and roll game and ability to create shots as well as his range will make him money. I think Ulis is way overrated and should be in the mid 2nd round if I was picking. I think as where they are both projected Yogi will have a bigger impact. Mainly cause he's gonna cost less and there won't be the pressure to immediately succeed, because you spent a lottery pick on him.
  14. I am starting to wonder the same thing!! Feel bad for the kid. Hoosier Nation really wanted him and I feel like his life would be a 180 right now had he choose us. UNLV is a good school, but expecting teenagers to live in Vegas with all the corruption which is twice as bad as a normal college campus....I hope whether he considers us or not he gets back on his feet and excels. Seemed like a great kid honestly. He was my recruit that "got away".
  15. Speaking of Goodluck, what is going on with that kid? He announced he was transferring before the semester was up and doesn't even have a list of schools out. I wonder if Crean has reached out. We were on him forever I could see that relationship sparking up again and with how raw he is it may be a great thing to have him and TB go to battle everyday for a year. Once TB leaves he could step right in w Davis taking over the 4.
  16. I dare say UM will have a down year, because Belein has shown he can produce with whoever.
  17. MSU and Wisconsin if Hayes comes back as well as OSU will be our main threats. Maryland loses Layman, suliamon and stone and possibly melo, so I ain't too worried about them. Iowa loses a lot too. Penn State has a team on the rise believe that or not. Their backcourt is loaded and they have Mike Watkins up front. No they won't compete for a B1G title, but I could see them being in the middle tier and upsetting some people hopefully just not us again.
  18. The difference of 24th-40 and 8-14 with an extra year is a chance I'd almost definitely take if I was TB, but if I assume he is gone which I don't like. I think Troy is gone as well. Expect both to announce this week, but Troy won't hire an agent.
  19. One kid we should've got in on is Kostas Anteukempo not sure if last name is spelled right lol. His brother is a star in the NBA and never went to college as a international guy. Kostas is going and is top 50 in some and top 100 in all. The potential is scary. Just picked up SJU picks in crystal ball, but doesn't have many offers. I think we could've stole him and been perfect w Crean. I really like the Alec Peters possibility. He was solid in the NIT!! Go get em Crean.
  20. I think a PAC 12 vs B1G would be a great idea. The conferences are similar. Top heavy with a few bottom feeders. I do feel our middle teams are better which is what makes us a better conference, but even for a Oregon vs IU, Zona vs MSU, Utah vs Maryland, USC vs Michigan, Oregon State vs Wisconsin, Washington vs Ohio State and so forth I see a lot of potentially great match ups.
  21. B1G/ACC prediction = Home against Syracuse Gavitt Challenge prediction = @ Xavier
  22. 100% correct observation lol. I think once Victor left he knew it was gonna be a rough year. I like that Noah added another NBA player for us, but it started with him. Loved watching him play, but one bad apple turns a couple good ones too. I don't miss Davis, Hanner, Stan, or Noah along w a couple others. I do miss Emmitt Holt though. He seemed to want to fit in too much. Coming to our game and sitting behind our bench showed the type of kid he is. Wouldn't mind getting him back one bit honestly.
  23. Man oh man the knocks on Yogi used to be bad. Glad I never wavered with my appreciation for him. He did everything possible his freshmen yr with two top 5 picks on his team. Sophomore year it was pretty much him, Sheehey, and Noah. That class was a bad one personnel wise, but not talent wise. Too many immature kids for even Sheehey to control. Junior year was a disappointment only because we lasted a round in the tourney. This year he improved dramatically and became what IU basketball is about. It took getting some bad eggs to go away for this team to fill its potential. Anderson and Elston have made huge impacts on this program that goes unnoticed. To Newkirk though, his athletic ability shown in his mixtapes suggest he could be a big surprise and crean has always been great with guards. His time at Pitt wasn't great, but Crean saw something and I trust him completely. I don't think he starts though. Johnson and JBJ will be our backcourt. With OG, Hartman, and hopefully TB up front.
  24. Idk if anyone has heard anything serious, but Bruno Fernando out of Montverde Academy has shared IUBB things on his twitter account a couple times!! Obviously there is interest on his part. If TB leaves I could see us really turn this recruitment up a notch. Have we offered?
  25. Great kid, but I share the same sentiments about this. We don't need him.
