Just want to point out, Virginia lost to the Mike White led Florida team. Maybe Virginia Offense was off, but could have something to do with the Florida Defense as well. He has really been impressing me lately. I really like the way they play.

Don't know if this should go here but I feel like all the cool kids are in this thread. Was just thinking on the pot, where all my best ideas come from, I think it would be really cool if (when we have a coach) if we all could attend a game at the same time and all head to a bar or something beforehand for pregame. For example. Step 1. Start the thread to find a game that works for as many as possible Step 2. Form an RSVP list so we know who can come Step 3. Try to find a bar or restaurant that can take a reservations for however many can make it Step 4. Have a hell of a meet and greet and pregame get together Step 5. Win the game Obviously this would be a ways out, but wanted to throw it out there. Maybe get some excitement going in here and take a brief breather away from stressing out over the new coach

I like Mike, really like the way Florida plays on both ends of the court. I think he would be a solid choice and still quite young.

So are we allowed to ask everyone's top 3-5 list that does not include Stevens or Donovan. I love the BD rumors and hope to God they're true, but I'm curious to see what everyone's opinions are on anyone else or if they have changed up to this point. I know mine have some since tournament play and looking more at people since the firing. 1. Mike White 2. Holtmann 3. Bennett 4. Archie 5. Marshall 6-20.... 21. Alford

Here's a conspiracy theory just for those that like to have with crazy theories. Perhaps IU us telling us they have found their new coach and this is their version of the catholic smoke signals (white or black) when searching for a pope. In this case white or red smoke with the red being the larger dot signaling they found him

So many clearly better options than Alford, it makes me sick that it seems like he's the front runner. 1. If he's not an IU great he's NEVER even mentioned 2. More or less paid UCLA to not fire him last year, why would you even consider a coach that almost got fired if you are truly concerned with consistency and deep runs and championships 3. Iowa is not a bottom feeder in the conference, they have had plenty of success prior to Alford, if he was so great of a coach why were his Iowa teams not good 4. If IU is his dream job, which I think is a safe assumption that it is, and IU still loves him why has it taken 20+ years to even consider bringing him over at any capacity 5. Why would you even consider a coach with a 20 year resume very similar to Crean Alford makes no sense at all other than he was a good basketball player 30 years ago under a HOF coach. The media is so clueless and just think it's a good storyline and I honestly am beginning to think many of them want IU to stay mediocre. Which is mind boggling. Alford would be the worst thing to happen to IU basketball, if he is hired IU will have the same results we had under Crean until Alford retires, they will not fire him.

Baltimore, you say you're a realist that's fine. State your opinion, which you have, many many times. But why are you so insistent in arguing with everyone else about every little detail. Agree to disagree and be done with it.

There will be other recruiting classes, 2017 is not some earth shattering class. If we can land Donovan I don't care if we have zero recruits coming in (obviously that won't happen, announcing he is the coach will have quite a bit of recruiting appeal) plus our team still has talent on it it's not like when Crean inherited it. Donovan can take this team and have some success and then really hit the recruiting trail for next year. One recruiting class should have no input on securing a coach like Donovan. I can't believe that's even an issue being talked about.

Yes, he went on to say something like Indiana is just a little lost right now, they have good players etc. They both then agreed IU is a top 5 all time program.

3'of 4 panel on around the horn think Alford goes back. I've never seen a single media person mention what they think the people of Indiana want though. Alford sounds like a good idea on the surface for non Indiana fans that only know him for playing at Indiana (which to me says something that his playing time 30 years ago is still the first thing people think of about him, not being a good coach). None of these media outlets have reasons as to Alford other than he played here, they really are clueless about Indiana basketball, which really I guess is our own fault for letting our program get this irrelevant as of late.

I was at the point where I would be disappointed in anyone but Donovan. But after taking a breather, if he's not attainable, I would be very happy with a handful of options. Out of everyone that's no longer playing I think I would place Archie at the top of my list.

I do not believe the holiday world Koch is any relation. Pretty sure Holiday world is pronounced "cook" and the Evansville people are "coke".
