  1. The Donovan effect. I'm pretty sure Archie was pretty high on many people's list until we started hearing Donovan might actually be plausible, now all of a sudden everyone hates Archie? Is he a big name with an amazing track record, no. But he is young has shown some success and knowledge of the game. He has had teams where he's had to adapt and change his play, something we never saw in 9 years. I think he has the potential to do great things. Is he risky, most likely given that he's still at Dayton and doesn't have a resume at big time programs, but we've seen a lot of mid major coaches with similar resumes do great things. Yes we've seen them not do so well either. I have to believe Donovan was contacted and we have it our best try, and if we end up with Archie then he just didn't want to leave the NBA. I'll support Archie, and think he could be great given the better resources, better brand name, more financial resources for staff and recruiting budget. I'd rather have someone like Archie that has shown potential over a short time versus an Alford who has a 20 year resume of mediocre.
  2. Lol at everyone writing off potential coaches just because they're out of the tourney. "You lost a game you suck". Haha do people expect there's a coach out there that goes to the FF every single year??
  3. A lot of schools have UG tunnels connecting buildings, that's where most of their water lines run.
  4. Albers is gonna be busy tonight, blocked me as soon as I responded to his last tweet about swearing billy was there.
  5. Well my high school coach told me that he heard Donovan is interested so screw your Andy Katz
  6. No shots at you. I just think people are so quick to want someone because of one good year when in reality it's usually an anomaly. Crean made a final four run one time. Not the norm. Martin is having a good year, not his norm. Alford Might make an E8, not his norm. I'd rather have consistency rather than one good run every so many years, we see where that got us.
  7. Funny how fast we are to check random twitter pages though when someone mentions it. Haha, tension is running high in here.
  8. Nothing there. I could have made the same blanket statement.
  9. I'm hoping Alford was never really an option and they were just going to give him an interview because he's IU guy and by saying he's not the top candidate was a nice way of saying thanks but no thanks.
  10. What if Albers is in fact btowninsider and all the other recent unknowns that have been popping up with "sources". Guy has 20 different laptops set up in his room logged in to each account
  11. Clearly the Thunder held practice at Assembly Hall today.
  12. No need to apologize, I do appreciate the video. Good to hear.
  13. Yes I get it. You were the first to post a podcast or radio show where an IU source more or less said Alford and Mack are no go's. Thank you for bringing that bit of information, i think it eases people's minds about Alford, but do you really need to comment non stop and reply to everyone's comment just to point out that you were the one who posted the video.
  14. The Mack talk is kind crazy imo. He's being mentioned because a guy didn't want to coach at UMass, are we serious? People are really stretching
  15. I hope whoever was on here saying Defense is boring and Offense wins games is watching these games. So far every game, and almost every game last round, has come down to a few key defensive stops to win the games. And the scores are not 96-90. This has been great basketball to watch imo.
  16. Hopefully the trend continues and the NOs drastically outweigh then yes
  17. Here's a new article about the search. Clearly did his homework on the message boards. http://www.heraldbulletin.com/opinion/terry-hutchens-column-the-truth-is-one-week-in-we/article_89dcdb48-0f5a-11e7-8078-2325f243766e.html I know some people will say they don't believe it, but like someone else said I tend to believe this guy who has worked with people that are most likely to have an idea. We may be waiting for awhile fellas. All these rumors are getting more and more ridiculous (which reminds me, my dad's sister-in-law's boss' son is a car salesman in Bloomington and just sold a car to Donovan's wife)
  18. This isn't a shot at you. This is just getting silly with everyone and their moms saying so and so is coming or so and so got this offer.
  19. I don't understand this argument either. What suggests he can not recruit versus some of the other candidates that are not in big conferences? He's had as much success or more than all other of those mentioned not named Stevens or Donovan. Do you think Bob Knight or Coach K we're bringing in top 20 recruiting classes at Army?
  20. Maybe we're getting Alford leaks so we will be more likely to excited about anyone that's not Alford. If Alford is never mentioned there would be a lot of people with someone like a White or Marshall, but if we get someone real low on someone's list we're still pumped it's not Alford. I'm not really serious, but since we're throwing out random theories to keep hope it fits that criteria.
  21. Curious, what does your wish list look like?
  22. Wisconsin students don't seem to mind.
  23. Had the Iowa incident never happen and Alford had a perfectly clean slate as far as that goes, I would still never even consider Alford. His 20 plus year resume way too similar to Crean. Iowa was not upset to see him go, they've had more success prior to him and after him. New Mexico was not crying when he left. UCLA will not be upset if he were to go. He comes to IU we're stuck with him forever. How Alford is being considered by anyone is beyond me. He was a great basketball player for us and that's it. 18 year old kids don't even know who he is as a player they could care less if he won a championship here. There are lots of great coaches that could recruit with IU resources and being in the Midwest, the idea that Alford can lock the state up is ridiculous. He could recruit the state no better than any other coach on our list.
  24. That's a valid question. And I didn't really follow much until recently obviously. I will note that Donovan's last year there (14-15) they finished 16-17 and 8-10 in SEC.
