That doesn't really sound like any kind of inside info to me, just his personal opinion. I would think if he's in enough to know when an announcement will be made it either will happen or it won't, there's no we might make an announcement by these two days but if we don't announce it then we might have changed our minds on the whole thing.

I will be extremely disappointed in an Alford hire. IMO it's a lateral move, maybe he makes us slightly better but don't see him taking us where we need to go, at all. And the bigger problem with Alford, if it's taken us this long to get rid of Crean (knock on wood) we would never get rid of Alford if it didn't work out. He would always be given a pass because he was an IU great and we would be stuck with him forever

Not meant as a jab, just looking for answers. Why is everyone so hard on Marshalls ability to recruit and not Archie? Marshall has brought in some pretty solid talent and they always seem to get better the following years. Why wouldn't he be able to recruit at a bigger and better program with more money and tools?

Yea, the rape incident aside, I just don't think he makes IU that much better. Like I've said before, if he didn't play at IU I don't think he would ever be mentioned.

I really enjoy watching and attending when it's close the conference tournaments, they are good games, but I do agree with what you're saying. Regular season winner should get the auto bid from every conference. But I would hate to see conference tourneys go away, I don't know the significant of them if they no longer are auto bids.

Well if our worst fears come true and we still have no news from the IU camp after our season is officially over, I say every single one of us buys a copy of this book and we all proceed to send them to Glass on a weekly basis.

Why does everyone think we need to bridge the gap with RMK. That's all on him at this point. If he wants to remain bitter than let him. If he shows up at Assembly Hall I would love to be there but him showing up is not going to bring in any extra recruits or being anymore prestige to IU that it doesn't already have.

If Alford never played here we would never even consider him based on coaching resume. If we end up hiring him I believe within a few years we see the Fire Steve Alford thread form. They NEED to get this right.

IU knows how to do a full court press? They sure don't know how to beat one.

May have been mentioned, but I've been thinking about the Missouri stories and I'm thinking there is something to them. It has been made public by multiple media sources that Missouri is interested in pursuing Crean. I have to believe that there is some kind of talk within the industry that they have a chance at him, why else would it be so well known they want him. That'd be like us saying we want Roy Williams and Coach K. There's no point in saying that cause there's no way of that happening.

A lot of people would do better then Crean that doesn't mean we should go out and hire anyone that could do better than a mediocre coach.

I don't understand how these guys can't comprehend. He's been here nearly a decade, please name me one other top respected program would be okay with still trying to "turn his program around" and evolve as a coach after 10 freaking years.

It's not the NBA either, run and gun trying to put up 100 doesn't work either, clearly. I'd rather average 60-70 and hold opponents to 50s and win consistently then average 90 and give up 90

Agree to disagree. If Crean had such an impact on developing players, why is JBJ roughly the same, Sheehey digressed, Thomas Bryant is no better than he was coming in, Zeller he had no idea how to utilize him so he didn't really develop, hollowell. He's never really shown me that he can develop anyone much more than what they were. That's just my opinion I understand many will disagree and there's nothing wrong with that.

Why would they agree or disagree on how much credit Crean had on making Vic what he turned in to. They just want the end result I don't think they're too worried on exactly how it came about.
