  1. Just looking back at players whom IU pursued and where they are and what they are doing now. Trying to focus on players whom at least visited or there was serious interest from both sides. Ben Humrichous, Evansville., 6'9" forward. Transferred to Illinois. Started out hot for Illinois but has cooled off. 80% of his shots are from three. In 28.7 minutes is averaging 8.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. Shooting 39/36/67. Leland Walker, Eastern Kentucky, 6'1" guard.. Transferred to Florida Atlantic. In 29.8 mpg, averaging 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. Shooting 42/32/80. Low volume of three point shots. Elijah Malone, Grace College, 6'10" post. Transferred to Colorado. In 21.8 minutes has averaged 11.2 points and 3.8 rebounds. Shooting 64 / 33 (just 9 attempts) / 77. Zach Anderon, Florida GC, 6'7" forward. Transferred to George Mason. In 21.7 minutes has averaged 5.8 points, 3.1 reb, and 1.1 assists. Shooting 39/40/71. Bulk three point shooter. Connor Hickman, Bradley, 6'3" guard. Was probably the player that was closest to committing to IU but didn't. Transferred to Cincinnati where he has struggled. 21.7 mpg, 4.7 points, 2.6 reb, 1.2 assists. Shooting 38/27/50. Tony Perkins, Iowa, 6'4" guard. Transfered to Missouri. In 23.7 mpg, averaging 8.7 points, 2.5 reb, and 2.3 ast. Shooting 46/24/80. Riley Klugel, Florida, 6'5" G/F. Was one of the first players IU reached out to but quickly moved on from. Transferred to Mississippi State. In 21.7 minutes is averaging 10.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. Shooting 48/30/74.
  2. Nebraska now up 15 at Iowa, 52-37, with 15 minutes left. I'd call it a beat down but we all now some of the wacky comebacks that Iowa has had at Carver.
  3. Go home Tennessee, you're drunk.
  4. I like Leal but he has to present himself as at least an offensive option. There has been some occasions in the last couple of games where he literally had had just slightly contested shots near the rim and he chose to pass it rather than take them.
  5. I wouldn't say that about Washington. They are NET 91 which is a pretty high quad 2 game on the road.
  6. Wisky getting their first free throws of the game at the 3:28 mark of the second half.
  7. Wisky up 6 and going to the line at the under 4. Ace Bailey has been really bad -- 3 of 14 from the field. Dylan Harper started but wasn't really ready yet. Didn't score in the little time he played. Rutgers started have only scored 22 points....their bench has kept them in it by putting 37.
  8. *news flash* Wisconsin has not shot a single free throw in the first 32 minutes of the game against Rutgers. Toto, we're not at the Kohl Center anymore...
  9. Wisky didn't close the door early when they could have. Rutgers within 3 at 58-55 at the under 8 and Klesmit exited the game with a twisted ankle.
  10. Rutgers hanging around, down 51-45 at the under 12.
  11. Watching Wisky/Rutgers. Wisky on a 12-0 run (kill shot!) and leads 24-11. Don't think I've ever seen a Rutgers team under Pikiell that is just standing around so much. It's like they are waiting for Harper and/or Bailey to go off on offense but their defensive energy is putrid. Have to think Pikiell might rethink his strategy after this season and look to go back toward the type of players he use to have -- hard nose, grind it out types.
  12. Ryland Gandy added on the the statistical summary of all IU transfers. Link below. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HkHOPCXQowEXP28uvzvaAHspgGxBnh9w_jCR8y3U_uM/edit?usp=sharing
  13. Torvik has a projection that if IU on the current data, IU could be 19-12 and 10-10 in conference and that all 12 losses would be quad 1....4-12 in quad 1, 4-0 in quad 2, 11-0 in quad 3 and 4. If that were to happen, I can't imagine IU being left out if they had no quad 2 losses. That said, NET rankings will shuffle around and regression says some of the teams currently Q1 will fall to Q2. USC at IU would be the single quad 3, yes? USC currently at 94.
  14. Evan Miya uses a stat called 'the kill shot' -- it's where a team goes on a 10-0 run. Statistically, if a team has more 'kill shots' during a game, they will 8/9ths of the time. IU registered their 7th kill shot of the year against Penn State as they went on a 12-0 run to start the second half. IU has won all of their games where they have administered a 'kill shot' and in all three of their losses have had their opponent administer a kill shot. The only game that went against the trend was the Rutgers game, where Rutgers had a 10-0 kill shot in the first half and IU did not have one. KS IU Opp SIUE 1 0 11-0 IU E Illinois 2 0 15-0, 11-0 IU South Carolina 0 0 UNCG 1 0 10-0 IU Louisville 0 1 14-0 LOU Gonzaga 0 1 14-0 GON Providence 0 0 Sam Houston 1 0 11-0 IU MIami (O) 1 0 12-0 IU Minnesota 0 0 Nebraska 0 1 10-0 NEB Chattanooga 0 0 Winthrop 0 0 Rutgers 0 1 10-0 RUT Penn State 1 0 12-0 IU TOTAL KS 7 4
  15. Really good day for IU's resume. Post Rutger: NET 62 POM 56 Torvik 58 EvanMiya 49 WAB +.20 Non-con SOS (POM) 176 Overall SOS (POM) 108 Quad 1: 0-2 Quad 2: 1-1 Quad 3: 3-0 Quad 4: 7-0 Post Penn State: NET 56 (up 6) POM 54 (up 2) Torvik 51 (up 7) EvanMiya 45 (up 4) WAB +1.0 (up +0.8). 37th overall. Non con-SOS (POM) 177 (down 1) Overall SOS (POM) 74 (up 34) Quad 1: 1-3 Quad 2: 1-0 Quad 3: 4-0 Quad 4: 6-0. One of our losses that was quad 2 moved up to quad 1 while one of our quad 4 wins moved up to quad 3.
  16. Little nuggets from the podcast with Hummel and Goodman before the Penn State game: -- already mentioned this, but Goodman said that Galloway was back coming off the bench where he belonged and Hummel corrected him that Galloway had started the last 8 games. -- Goodman said 'okay, let's say Indiana wins their next three -- Penn State, USC, and Iowa -- the question still is, who have they beaten?' ....does actually follow basketball? Two of those games are quad ones.
  17. The spacing was much better.....but it was the same group of players that were 2 of 11 from three in the first half and scored 29 points.
  18. At Stanford he had more freedom with the ball because their guard play was horrible. He is the mode now where everything he takes is fifteen feet and out. He's not that type of player.
  19. I would be shocked if once Reneau is healthy if he isn't back in the starting lineup. We are going to continue to see two bigs. That said, there has been a more concerted effort this year to space the two bigs time out better so that you are seeing longer stretches where they both aren't on the court at the same time. Consider this: guys we have that get to the bucket with dribble penetration are Galloway and Rice.....sometimes Mgbako. But guys like Carlyle, Tucker, Goode and Leal aren't getting much if any penetration. There are combinations that Indiana puts out where two bigs are fine because we have some guys that aren't going to create their own offense.
  20. Imagine how bad it is for Purdue players. They are stuck in West Lafayette.
  21. I believe he visited so I assume he had an offer.
  22. +1. 80 minutes with two of those three in works out to 27 minutes/man. There will be times where all three are in (first 6-8 minutes seems to work that way).
  23. Not great. Only one true road game and they are 9-5. Poor rebounding team and hit threes okay but take even less than IU.
  24. I have to say that if the NCAA calls this a neutral game when Penn State chose for it be there, that's bogus. Won't matter if they stay inside NET 50, right?
