Nah, I'm gonna spout my opinion just the same as the rest of this board. -

Because it's a free country, Karen. I can post the same stuff that anybody else can. You're for it, I'm against it. See how that works? -

There's a better chance that Woodson returns next season that Stevens prowling the sidelines. IU has proven over and over that they can't manage the hiring of a successful basketball coach. I have no confidence that they'll magically get it right this time. -

Except it's not a possibility. We have two past coaching searches where everybody was just so sure Stevens, Donovan, and every other "hot" name was coming here, and look at what we wound up with. Archie and Mike. I'll take the track record of that past "sure thing" over the same tired lines now. Stevens won't be at IU. -

Stevens won't be here. Everybody needs to get over that name. -

I call BS on that. Were that true, the "even more reasons" would already be out there as he would be vetted by any other major university. Don't give a rip what "others say". Others say Woodson is the best thing since sliced bread too. Anybody truly believe all of that? -

Hey Chris, any chance you can get to Madison from Oxford in time to coach the 2nd half? — Scott Dolson -

Probably the only thing that would cause me to take exception to what you're saying about PK is that the guy has a drive and a personality about him that will not be outworked. I think that is the absolute requirement in the college sports day we're in these days. I guarantee I've seen enough of Kelsey to know that guy was working on next year the same day he brought this crew on campus. I'm totally impressed with him so far. -

I would suggest that Dolson call Josh Heird and ask how to hire a basketball coach. Yes, Heird whiffed when he hired Kenny Payne but he was quick to pull the trigger when he knew the situation couldn’t be salvaged and fixed the situation. Pat Kelsey should be the prototype for what IU goes after in a coach. Not only does IU the institution need a systemic change, but frankly the fan base does too. Time to look at the game for how it is, not how we remember it to be. Romanticizing got us in this mess — have to have an IU guy, have to have a Knight guy. How’s that worked out for us? Rest my case on that one. Doesn't have to be Stevens, and as far as I’m concerned it won’t be. Doesn’t have to be Dusty, and if I had to hazard my guess, won’t be. Guys we’ve tossed the same tired names around for at least a decade and none of it has happened. You know what they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I digress. Woody finishes the season out. Not gonna be a move prior to the final game of the season. If anything, my take is that IU is gonna try to end this thing diplomatically for a guy who did give the Hoosier state many good times as a player. No sense expecting anything differently to be honest. Disagree if you wish, it’s a free country; but I do think Dolson is going to attempt an honorable out for Woodson and at least attempt to salvage his overall legacy as a player and yes, as a coach even if mediocre. If that’s what it takes to get thru this, so be it. If Woodson and Scott May are smart, they’ll take a step back, and understand that to drag this out any longer is seriously eroding both men’s overall legacies with the fans who love them. Hopefully someone close has their ears and is telling them exactly that. Woody, swallow your pride, announce your departure. Tell the fans you wanted better but just didn’t get it done, and let your legacy reestablish itself. Fans will respect that and give a few years you’ll be respected for at least attempting it. May, whatever it is you’re doing, stop it and see this for what it is. An experiment that hasn’t worked. Now save what’s left of your legacies at IU. Thats my .02 cents, your mileage may vary and likely does. -

He always was. He’s not going anywhere until after the season, if then. Anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves. I want him gone as much as anyone does, but it’s not happening until the off season, whether he’s fired or he decides to retire. That’s just how it will go down. -

Dolson needs to drive down to Louisville and ask Kelsey if he has a brother. If not, he needs the closest thing to a Kelsey clone and ask Kelsey where to find him at. I’m literally that impressed with the guy. Dominating Syracuse on the road tonight and they just keep getting better. We need someone who knows how to put a team together and how to build that team once they’re together. Woodson has no clue. We don’t need an IU guy, we don’t need BS and BS ain’t walking thru that door. Get over that one. We need to think outside the box for what might be the first time in the history of Indiana basketball. This athletic department can’t get out of its own way long enough to get a basketball decision right to save its soul. -
Anybody have a clue about this guy and his info?
-
No problem at all, man. I easily see your points. Just thinking outside the box some, might not hurt IU to do a bit of that these days.
