Not sure how many remember, but Bob Knight almost never made it to Indiana. He was all but signed, sealed and delivered to Wisconsin in 1968. He accepted the job offer while in Madison with the stipulation that no one at Wisconsin announced the hire before Knight could get back to West Point to inform his boss and team. Someone at Wisconsin leaked the information, and Knight told them to pound sand. He stayed at Army for three more seasons before moving to Indiana.

What does this even mean? Is it a good thing to bring in $34M more than we spend? I understand the need for some kind of "reserves", but if we have this kind of excess from donation, ticket sales, whatever, shouldn't we be ashamed of the state of the football facilities? And I am sure there's a rule somewhere about using this cash to cover the over-inflated buyout for a failure of a football coach. Maybe we fire Dolson, as well, for giving CTA this kind of ridiculous golden parachute after only a decent season or two... Between Glass and him, they did the same thing with Archie... and it constantly leaves IU athletics in a bad spot...

Agreed. There's no positive here. It always sucks to lose a top recruit, especially to the slime cats... it's not the end of the world, but there is nothing positive about it.

I absolutely hate that IU wussed out and agreed to play one of IU's home games in Indy... these rivalry games should be played on campus... and note that pUKe didn't move one of their home games off campus to a semi-neutral site.
