College girls a year early!!

Man, Archie has been incredible so far. He came in and hired a top notch staff. Kept all three of our recruits. Kept every current player except for Gelon and the three NBA guys. Got Hartman to come back. Got De'ron to stay on campus all summer. Just added a top 100 player to this class. I know recruiting has put some of us on edge lately, but I don't think there's anything that he realistically could've done better so far.

But... We've given many reasons to bring him in now. We wanted him for next year's class and now we have him a year early at no cost.

He might not dramatically improve, but there's really no downside. It doesn't use up a year of his eligibility and we weren't going to use the scholarship this year anyway. Having another big 6-8 body to go against in practice will also benefit the rest of our players.

Why don't you like it?

Because it gives him a year of D1 training and practice time that he wouldn't otherwise get. Going against our guys in practice every day will be immensely more valuable for him than playing another year of high school. He'll be able to step in and be ready to contribute right away come 2018.

Love the redshirt. When's the last time we had a non-injury one of those?

It only took a few months for Archie's scholarship approach to pay off. This is why leaving an open scholarship is so great.

It looks like they do running start verticals at the combine, but I'm not sure if they do standstill ones too.

Very skinny. With his length he'll never need to be to be extremely strong, just strong enough to where players can't push him around.

I really wonder what happened with this situation. He was all about IU, then he tweets something about "whatever happens its not on me" and then he decommits. So strange.

De'ron is down to 251. He says he has lost 20 pounds and thinks it will help with his foul troubles.
