I think I butted heads with you about Phinisee over the summer, but I'm on the RP bandwagon now. I think he's going to be a very good four year player. Thompson/Phinisee/Hunter/Forrester/Anderson is a very solid foundational class for Archie.(Counting Race with this class since he's redshirting and came early). The three freshmen this year also look very promising. We will go out and get the big guns in the 2019 class. Maybe it's because I never expected us to get Garland, but imo the future is very bright for IU basketball. I haven't been this excited about the team in a long time.

I don't really understand the "3 year rebuild" talk. Maybe it'll be that long before we're a national contender, but I'm expecting a NCAA tournament birth from us next season.

Absolutely. It's why I'm not so down on our near future. The underclassmen seem to be buying in and I'm excited to see how they improve throughout the season.

Not gonna lie, I kind of agree with him. We have a few players who play with heart and pride but they're in the minority, imo.

Oh well, now I can quit thinking about him and focus on the season.

I think we'll be a decent offensive team eventually. We just need to find the right combination. I have a feeling it's going to involve the underclassmen getting a whole lot of playing time.

I agree. Freddie is one of the few dogs on the team.

We need a new starting lineup. Newkirk and Rojo can't create their own offense. Once Collin gets healthy I would go with a two guard lineup with him at the 3.

I figured I'd start this so the Garland thread didn't get too off topic talking about today's game. Any thoughts on changes you expect Archie to make tonight? Al should start if only because he was one of the few who seemed to care Friday night. Morgan played pretty well last game but he really needs to stop with the 3s. It's not his game. I hope Archie has him around the block more because he's crafty down there.

I never said they didn't. They do. Basketball and football are the reasons why there's money for the other programs. It makes sense to focus on basketball and football because they're the money making ones. Edit: Just wanted to add this... If the other sports do well then that's great. I just believe that when it comes to the athletic director he's ultimately going to be judged on how the football and basketball programs perform. If they do well then the important people are going to be happy. If they don't do well then they won't be.

Those programs don't make any money though.

I think we're all kind of on edge right now. Hopefully we get a good performance tonight and good news tomorrow to right the ship.
