  1. Did you not just tell people to change the subject? Lol *Jeff Goodman tweets that Brad isn’t a candidate* - it’s a smokescreen! Brad’s on the way! *Cody Zeller attends a high school basketball game* - omg he’s our new GM! He’s recruiting for Brad! *Cody Zeller attends an IU basketball game* - omg he really is our new GM! Brad is in the way! Compared to *Questions on whether a coach who quit coaching four years ago and repeatedly turned down the IU job would actually want the job and stay long term* - blasphemy! Stop that talk right now! Like I said, folks deify Brad Stevens and lash out when people dare question him.
  2. Yes, it’s much more productive to speculate about Cody Zeller being Brad’s new IU GM because he caught an IU game during his wife’s West coast tour.
  3. And did he not quit his coaching job to take the GM position, months after IU offered him the job? That’s not something you do if you love coaching. Folks deify Brad Stevens and then lash out when people point out that he comes with question marks too.
  4. Brad Stevens quit too for a non-coaching job. What in his background suggests he wants to come grind the way a top college coach needs to grind? He quit his NBA coaching job 4 years ago, and that gig is less of a daily grind, involves minimal “recruiting ,” and comes with a months long, defined offseason.
  5. Guys like Calipari and Pitino went to the NBA for a few years and then came back to college. Stevens coached at Butler for 6 years. He left college basketball 12 years ago and left coaching entirely 4 years ago. Sure, if you can get him then great. But absolutely nothing in his background suggests he’s the guy who’s going to come back to the college game and grind year in and year out for the next 20 years. If IU’a gonna beg and plead for a coach to come here, do that with an elite college coach who wants to coach college basketball.
  6. I bet the teenage daughter unilaterally made that decision for the family, just like when she dictates whether or not Brad takes the job or not... “Dad I refuse to move to Indiana if you dare accept the job over WebEx!”
  7. His family voted 3-1 on doing it over Teams
  8. Dude thinks he can stack the non conference schedule with a bunch of no name schools, go .500 in conference, and keep his job because “hey I averaged 21 wins!”
  9. The next BAnonBanners rumor will be that B is scheduling her tour dates to align with IU’s games to allow Cody ample scouting opportunities.
  10. Yes, the only possible explanation for Cody Zeller attending an IU basketball game is that he’s becoming the “general manager” for a coach who turned the job down…. This is just absurd.
  11. Thank god Woodson demanded a fifth season when he did because we’d be getting one if Dolson waited until the end of the year.
  12. I don’t want to hire a coach with meh results in hopes that he’ll do better with more resources. I want a coach who has done well in his current job. I don’t throw Collins in there as much because he’s at a P5 school with Ivy League admission standards, but Brownell is the definition of mid. 5 tournaments in 15 seasons, which is even fewer than IU during that period. No thank you.
  13. The Scott Drew discourse is going to look silly when we end up with someone way worse.
  14. What are the odds that “NIL assurances” are the determining factor here? I don’t think there’s a single thing Brad could ask for that IU would say no to. The only question is whether Brad wants to be the coach. Everything we’ve seen suggests no.
  15. If he wants the job, this is a non-issue. If he wants to use something as an excuse to not take the job, this is one of many routes he could take with trying to justify a denial. Kids adapt..I've moved many times in my life as both a kid and a parent. Parent decisions don't need approval from the kids... Yeah, it’s the tried and true “let me check with the wife” when someone asks you to do something you don’t really want to do. If Brad wants the job then he’ll take it, but it doesn’t really sound like he does. He needs “more time” to think about a job he’s had 4+ years to think about? Cmon. Enough is enough Brad.
  16. You’ve said this before, but I think there’s a fairly long list of guys who could do pretty well here in the current NIL atmosphere. Mike Woodson basically ignored a large percentage of his job responsibilities, largely gave up recruiting outside of the portal, was a very mediocre in-game coach, and the bottom still didn’t completely fall out underneath him. We don’t need a star, I don’t think. With the millions of dollars our donors are willing to spend, we need competence and work ethic.
  17. I’m hard to please, but Devries isn’t the worst name I’ve heard thrown out there. Brownell and McCollum being two I’d put below Devries. Hopefully we get Scott Drew and don’t have to call down to the Devries tier, but I’d be leaps and bounds over our last hire.
  18. He would constantly delete his tweets too after everything he’d tweet about inevitably wouldn’t happen. Where did his alleged “insider” designation even come from?
  19. The Riddler says so, but I think he makes some things up. Others are unsure.
  20. FAU isn’t Michigan, and he came back to FAU for another year after signing that extension. Did Dusty sign an extension with Michigan because (a) he’s happy at the Big 10 school he currently has tied for first or (b) because he wants to keep the chatter down until he leaves for IU in a month. Like, let’s be serious here…
  21. The most likely scenario is Brad Stevens isn’t coming here, evidenced by Goodman’s tweet saying as much, and neither is Dusty May, evidenced by him signing an extension literally last week, but some are spinning those two events into evidence they’re coming to IU… I hope Dolson doesn’t share their beliefs and is working on finding who actually might want to be our next coach.
  22. Did his son just start playing basketball four years ago? If he wanted to coach his son then it wouldn’t have taken any foresight four years ago to see that that would've been an opportunity had he taken the job.
  23. Except for the last time he turned us down… or the time before that.
  24. Let’s be for real guys. Drew would be an absolute grand slam. He took Baylor over after a literal murder scandal. One of the harshest non-death penalty punishments ever issued. After his first four seasons, he’s won 70% of his games over the past 18 years in a P5 conference at a school that had four NCAA tournament appearances in its history before he got there. We should be over the moon at the possibility of landing him.
  25. Zeller went to a basketball game so some leaped to the only reasonable explanation, I.e., that Brad Stevens is our new coach and Cody Zeller was scouting in his capacity as Brad’s soon to be GM.. Lol
