If I was a student teacher at 22 years old, I'd probably be slaying all kinds of legal-age high school girls too as long as they weren't my students. That's not a big deal at all.

Actually that IS illegal. Even if a girl is 18, you can't have a sexual relationship with someone who you're in a position of authority over. Also, I don't believe that at all. If this was true, he would never be a Division 1 coach. He would fail every background check on him.

I'm so getting my hopes up on John Groce like I did with Billy Donovan, which probably means we'll get left at the altar all over again. He would be such a solid addition to the staff for hopefully a few years to lock up the Midwest. All eyes to the Akron job now, hopefully they take a chance on an up-and-comer rather than Groce.

A name like "Bruiser Flint" makes him sound like a bad guy in an Adam Sandler movie. He seems like a good candidate though.

Ah yeah I misread that, he is 2019. Good thing, Archie has plenty of time to get in on him. Also I'd really like for Miller to make a last-ditch effort at Darius Garland. Of course Phinisee should be just as high of a priority, but Garland would be a game-changer.

Do we have a shot with Keion Brooks (2018) out of Fort Wayne? He's a borderline 5* PF who's being recruited by most of the B1G, but I think Michigan State and PU are up there. It doesn't seem like Crean prioritized him.

Wanting your name on the back of your jersey doesn't necessarily mean you're a selfish player. I actually don't think it means anything at all. I like the uniforms just the way they are, but wouldn't mind too much if they put names on the back.

Interesting stuff. I'm sure we're in the clear here, but there was an article a few weeks ago that said another power school had done their legwork on Archie and backed off due to something in the past. I'm sure he wouldn't have been hired if it was anything serious.

Yeah he looks like he needs to slim down a bit and work on his conditioning. He's 6'10" and I don't think I've ever seen him dunk.

Be careful with comparisons though, especially in sports. So, so many different factors influence whether or not a coach can be successful, especially when you compare professional sports to college. You and I both know that for every situation where a young up-and-comer turned out poorly, there are probably plenty of examples of them turning out well. Time will tell.

Does anyone have kenpom offense/defense stats for Dayton the past few years handy? It'd be nice to see his strength of schedule too, I really hope our RPI improves in the non-conference now.

Eric Gordon grew up an IU fan though. Romeo Langford did not. He's all about Duke and UL. It's ok though, plenty of good players out there not named Romeo Langford. I'd love for you to be right.

I just highly doubt that. But I sure as hell wouldn't hold it against him for not landing Romeo. It's more likely we get guys like Musa Jallow.

Only addition I'd like to that potential staff is to include Fife. Not sure how you'd do it, but I'd love to get him involved somehow. I don't know who he would replace on that list though, I'd take those 3 in a heartbeat. Plenty of Indiana blood on that staff.

I'm rooting for UC to beat UCLA tonight, as there is no way we would hire Alford after his best team finishes 3rd in conference and doesn't even make the Sweet 16. It would be awfully tough to justify firing a guy for inconsistency in his last 6 years, then turn around and say "I found the answer to our coaching search - the guy who went to the Sweet 16 twice with someone else's players, missed the tournament last year, then got bounced the second round of the tournament." Tough sell.

LOL IU and Fred Glass are probably sending out smokescreens and false information to various media personnel regarding Alford, but The Huffingon Post is home to the only people dumb enough to run with it.

There is a certain player who shall remain nameless that I wouldn't mind if he left after this season, but maybe a new coach could light a fire under him. Given Newkirk's play towards the end of the year, he'll be a pretty good piece going forward. A core of Newkirk, Green, Morgan, Davis, Moore, and Smith should be pretty good to build with. If we can hold on to Bryant and Johnson, then we could be towards the top of the B1G.

Saw that, but the Thunder have also gone on a 5 game winning streak since this article was written. They still probably won't get anything higher than a 5 seed in the Western Conference, but I'd feel a bit better if they started losing more.
