IU has never gotten all the Indiana kids.  Never have, and never will, there are to many good Indiana kids.
 
I wasn't in the room when any of the coaches were hired, but I do know that Sampson was not the AD's first choice, but he was the President's first choice, that is why he was there.  I do know that Pitino was interested in coming to IU, but again the administration wanted to go a different route.  
 
I don't want the old days to come back, but I don't want the current mediocrity to continue either.  I disagree completely that comparing to our past isn't fair.  We were at the top.  That is the benchmark that we should strive for.

I hear u about some jack iu fans wanting iu to lose. My wife and I went to the SMU game and we could barely enjoy the game because these two "IU" fans sat and "I told u so" every time we missed a shot and then literally whined and pined every time we made a shot. Kept turning around to argue with me every time I started explaining anything to my wife. Had to end up telling them to turn around and shut the hell up because they looked like they literally never played sports a day in their life. Can't even remember the asinine stuff they were saying the whole game. Booing Stan when he entered for the first time. Even the old facts were actually covering their one ear to shut them out lol..

Always thoroughly love an opportunity to actually use the term asshat to someone though. That was cool.

He got a few lucky rolls tonight, but he scares me when he gets the ball. His shot still looks horrid. Now I think when he gets the ball he can't decide if he is going to shoot with his right or left.

My question is what about the accountability of the players? They make bad passes and make turnovers. I understand that Crean makes mistakes. There are lots of things he does that I don't agree with. But more often than not, the players frustrate me with their dumb mistakes (enter Troy Williams and Robinson).  I think a coach can teach strategy and prepare the team they want but in the end the players have to execute and that didn't happen in the final stretch against Georgetown.

The peak was his last game where he scored 10. Crean was invested in him and surprised by it. I have a feeling he was just as confused as we all were. We as fans are still left in the dark about why he left. People came up with the homesick theory, then the stories about Williams, etc. I haven't really agreed with the players getting arrested and failing drug tests. 
And yeah Ive heard the rumor that Vonleh was upset (can't find any article online with a direct quote from Vonleh stating that he wasn't used like he should've been).  I defend Crean? News to me. I'm not defending anyone. I just try to look at things without delving into conspiracy theories. And I just kind of realize that no matter how many times someone posts their complaints about Crean on a message board, he is still currently the coach at IU. Im just realistic and have more important things to worry about in life.

Playing Holt and Perea together would create a negative mismatch for us. Neither one can really be counted on to score.

He didn't see the action because he was hurt. Him transferring seems to have had nothing to do with basketball and everything to do with his teammates

I guess if he is cool with playing in the D League or over seas. He isn't really anything but at best a 12th man in the NBA right now

I know we were all over him before we signed Holt but I was never in favor with all the baggage.
If he cant play juco even more reason to stay away.

On one hand I had long felt he was our missing big man this year. But with the times & numbers he's getting at Ohio State, I wonder how much of an impact he really would have had.

Thank you. This is exactly how I feel. I have zero problem with criticism of his coaching which is due at times. However, I grow very tired of the few who seem to cross the line into a personal hatred of the man.
