  1. For me it’s because I’m not jealous of what some other first year coach did. Especially one that went 10-10 in conference and lost 6 of 8 heading into the post season. His success of failure has 0 effect on how optimistic I am about IU improving. Personally I don’t care for his style of play and afrer watching every Iowa conference game and most the non conference I don’t feel it will translate to winning big consistently against the upper tier teams. His style will muck it up enough to slow down the favorites however I don’t think they can string together enough wins against upper level teams to be a national champion threat for D1. Just my opinion.
  2. And if he was he preferred the Iowa job. National media reported that around the time his name was brought up as a serious candidate for IU. Most on here brushed that off and didn’t believe he would want the Iowa job over the IU job. All you had to do was watch his 2 episodes on the Journey where they showed old pictures of him as a kid in a Iowa shirt and how he was talking about the program where he went and watched games as a kid to know that those reports were right. Same with Nedved at Minny where his parents had season tickets up until he took over. Thoses programs took advantage of a built in connection. For whatever reason IU has struggled doing that with their program
  3. Mullins was 6-42 from 3 in his last 6 games until he hit back to back 3s today
  4. Sec champs in a battle with the 9th place B1G team
  5. His style of play will keep them in every game. Brutal watch but by watching them all year they rarely got blown out. Personally I struggle watching his style of play. They need to hit FTs. Left too many points out there
  6. Most of my brackets I filled out I had Houston coming out of that region because they are playing 2 miles from campus next week
  7. Tenn up 1 with 1 min to go
  8. Tennessee can’t inbound the ball. Virginia drills a 3 to go up 1 with 1:37 to go
  9. Nit is delivering. Illinois St just drains a 3 at Wake to go up 3 with 2 sec to go
  10. McCollum has often highlighted that the team is "an infant program" in its first year and that navigating the physicality of the league is part of the learning process to "get shockingly better". Hawk Central f
  11. Yeah. Cost next to nothing in NIL and knew it was a developmental project. Still would have 4 years of eligibility and still cost next to nothing in NIL
  12. He did say it multiple times. In the Journey episodes and articles with the Detroit press pointed out how big of adjustment it was to deal with the league especially the officiating from game to game. Said him and his staff would have to figure it out. He figured it out but he pointed out multiple times over the first year the B1G was a different animal. Figuring it out while winning a B1G tourney and sweet 16 is easier to swallow however doesn’t mean he didn’t feel their was an adjustment to the B1G
  13. B1G has 5 teams in the sweet 16 in the same tourney for the first time in its history.
  14. Definitely think Texas was the harder matchup for them instead of the Zags. Was something off about that Zags team all year
  15. People probably forgot but this current team was in the AP top 25 for a couple weeks. Got to 22. They still were flawed and never returned to the top 25
  16. He has a good approach to the portal. He brought Henderson with him from Duke. He decommitted and followed him to Miami. He was a shark recruiter so he will be a hit with the recruits. He wants to build from high school kids but in the portal is focused on local kids that went elsewhere and want to come back home. Thinks with those kids even if it’s for 1 year they will have pride for the program. Malik, Donaldson, and Edeh, Marcus Allen all kids from Miami or the state of Florida
  17. Auburn and Creighton were preseason top 25 heading into the year last year. Only teams not to make the tourney Nebraska and Virginia were not in the preseason top 25. Every team besides Auburn and Creighton in the preseason top 25 earned a top 7 seed in this years tourney. The top 4 seeds were all in the preseason top 25 besides Virginia and Nebraska
  18. They were good all year. Won at Illinois in December and was one of the last teams that hadn’t lost. They did get better as the season went along but they were a top 12 team all year
  19. Burton is the small ball dominant scoring guard you do not like. That’s what he was in high school as well. Won Mr Basketball his senior year. Koehler had some up and downs throughout the year. I watched him a couple times and thought he has potential and then some times where he looked lost. Definitely added some pounds but probably could add more. Sisley was committed so don’t think IU ever looked his way in high school
