(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
rebelhoosier848891 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
590 pages! For those of you trying to catch up—let me give you a quick Romeo recap: Pages 1 to 100/ He’s going to Louisville —scandal—nope Pages 100 to 400 /He’s going to Vandy because DG wants him to—nope Pages 400 to 500 /He’s going to Kansas because they made Final Four and have players leaving early—nope Pages 500 to 590 He’s going to IU! —yes! Let’s pray and hope this last swing is the correct one. Romeo to IU would be a win-win: a game changer for IU to kickstart the Archie era and open the 5 Star floodgates by making it cool to go to IU again—and a win for Romeo by being the in-State legend who stayed home to make IU great again. Your move Romeo—Hoosier Nation awaits! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Late to the party—but does anyone else think today’s commitment by UE’s Ryan Taylor to Northwestern—could be seen as good news for us regarding Romeo? That’s how I am taking it until I hear otherwise! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I think announcing in his high school gym is a great sign for IU. I still feel good about it but I agree that for us and for him—we just need to get this over with! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I see your point. I just don’t think that is why he waited. Kansas always has a stable of 5 stars and high turnover every year. I am sure Self already told Romeo and his family what the plan was for 2018. And sure—Kansas makes the tourney every year with all those 5 stars. Give Archie that type of talent and let’s see how he does. I think the chance for Romeo to help put IU or Vandy back in the tourney is partly why they are still on his short list or we would not even be finalists. He cut UNC and others so recent NCAA performance is definitely NOT his criteria. Let’s face it-we are all guessing and praying at this point. Here’s something we can both agree on —Romeo-just pick IU already! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
rebelhoosier848891 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Memories! My how times have changed! I think that was 1988 when the UK assistant coach sent the recruit (Mills) 1000 cash by mail and it popped open in transit and the Emery air freight people took pictures of it. As we’ve seen from the latest scandals and investigations the going price for top recruits for some programs appears to be over $100,000 now! Inflation! Whatever the case—I imagine Kentucky uses much stronger packing tape now for their special deliveries!! Lol..... -

I still don’t think the Kansas players’ draft decisions were the reason Romeo waited to announce—he will get his share of minutes and shots wherever he goes. This changes very little imo. Kansas was always going to have the better overall talent but even Romeo has to see they tend to underperform annually in the tournament. He will be one of many stars there-but he could be THE star at Vandy or IU. I think in the end he chooses location for his family to see his games and likes the idea of being the In-State Recruit to put IU back in national conversation again. He saw the power and loyalty of the IU fan base at The Hall and at his games and during the recruitment. It takes a special person to endure and embrace that and still thrive. Damon did it. Cody did it. I think Romeo will do it. Hoosiers is still the pick that makes the most sense tor me! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
rebelhoosier848891 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Historical Question: Anybody know if Trendon was actually at the game when his brother hit The Wat Shot? He was at a lot of games over the years. If he was I can certainly understand how that could make someone a Hoosier for life. When I’m having a bad day—I still pull up one of the replays of that shot and the fan reaction both In The Hall and at Nicks. I still get chills experiencing that all over again! For me—sign Trendon up—he’s a legacy and honorary Hoosier in my book. I am all for more Wat Shots in the future! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I would be thrilled with any of the four—-we may have to go with first come—first served! If a 5 Star wants to come—welcome them. We can’t afford to lose them with the hope we MAY get another one. I imagine Miller is letting them know they better decide quickly or risk losing out. Take the first 2 out of the 4 who are ready to be Hoosiers NOW. I think that may be TJD and Watford.... BTOWN Banners Crystal Ball
rebelhoosier848891 replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Instead of the “Crystal Ball” or the “Magic 8-Ball” —we could call ours the “Magic B-Ball”. I predict our “Magic B-Ball”will “bounce”our way for TJD and then Romeo —in that Order! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

How ironic—I open the Romeo Langford thread on my IPhone and there’s a pop up at the bottom of the screen for “Blood Pressure Drugs”. I am seriously going to need some if Romeo doesn’t commit soon! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

National Title Game Michigan vs Villanova
rebelhoosier848891 replied to Dalton26's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Nice tourney run by the Wolves but Nova was just too much for Michigan. Have to admit Belein is a good coach. He has done solid work at Michigan. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
National Title Game Michigan vs Villanova
rebelhoosier848891 replied to Dalton26's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Hope versus Believe....I hope Michigan wins but I believe Nova will take the title. Nova is a juggernaut that looks like the best team right now. But Michigan only needs to be better than them for one night. The Big needs to finally break through and start getting more National respect. That translates into more ranked Big Ten teams and more Big Ten teams in the tourney. This year was a low point in terms of overall reputation of the conference. At least Penn State should have made the tourney too...As much as it pains me to say it—Go Wolverines! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Agree. Late this evening we were in the car and my son in the backseat suddenly blurted out—“OMG -Romeo just committed to Vanderbilt!” I yelled out “You have got to be kidding me” —and I almost ran off the road. Thankfully I looked in the mirror and saw a partial grin on his face-and he said “April Fools”! We laughed then —but for an instant I thought we had lost Romeo. I agree with the posters who said we can act like it is fine if we don’t get him, but it is really going to hurt. My heart was racing and I realized how much I really want him to be a Hoosier. As for my son—I almost stopped the car to make him walk the rest of the way home! Happy Easter Hoosier Nation! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
