Hats off to the cheeseheads-----Wiscy doing the Big Ten proud and I rooted for them even though it killed my bracket.... -

Yep--good job by Mountaineers and Wiscy is off to good start against Nova. It's early but If Wiscy would get the upset my bracket would be BUSTED! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
If true---this tells me IU already has someone in mind. As an older IU alum--even if it is a homerun hire--- I hope IU at least interviews or talks to key former players to show respect and receive input. Part of smart planning to keep our fanbase united.

Agree--even this years IU team could have hung with them. And that's saying something. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

UCLA looks a lot like IU--awesome offensively at times and terrible defensively for large stretches. I picked them to win it but I am not sold tonight. Worried about their interior play and rebounding too. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Funny to see two defensive minded teams in the 50's when so many run n gunners are out there Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Looks like Wichita state might take this Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Fife is further down the list for me but I would love to see him as an assistant. If the head coach is offensive minded--let Fife run the defense. If we strike out on the homerun hire --I could live with Fife instead of most other mid-major coaches with better records. He is going to be a top coach someday. Agree Woodson--Michael Lewis was one tough competitor. He grew up in Jasper down here on the south side of the state and made us southerners proud by becoming IU's all time assist leader until Yogi broke that record last year. Man--we sure could have used a fiery redhead like Lewis who was willing to lead and get in people's faces the last couple of years! If he and Fife were on the staff I pity the player who wouldn't give full effort on defense. Lewis is one to watch for the future. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
I can't blame them for sticking up for family--but how long does anyone really think Michigan. Would tolerate Harbaugh coaching UM football to multiple seasons just a few games over .500 or ending the year ranked near the bottom of the conference with no prestigious bowl game in sight? Answer? He'd be gone quickly. Same standard should apply because IU basketball is just as important to us as UM football is to Michigan. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I liked a post I saw on IUBB twitter so this is not original but I think it sums up what's expected at an elite bball program like IU----Tom Crean came to coach at IU because "It's Indiana" and he was fired because ""It's Indiana". You can be the best person or a great coach but in the end you have to perform at a high level and you are judged by your results. Without apology IU is an elite job with high standards. You meet them and you stay. You don't and you go. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
