I love IU basketball so I will be watching the NIT selection show----but it is not acceptable that we missed the NCAA tourney with all the talent we have. Waiting on a coaching change but still backing my HOOSIERS!

OK--now I am sick again.

Wishful thinking but maybe the "but" at the end of Janitor's post has significance--as in maybe Janitor thought Alford "but" ---now Donovan wants to come!

Albers and the janitor have now both mentioned Alford. He is a Hoosier hero but not my first choice (or even top 10) to be our Coach. He has a good win-loss record but his tourney performance is very Crean-like. I wanted to see a more defensive minded coach. If it is him I am guessing others said no. He does help in-state recruiting and unite some of the factions in our fan base. But---he has to win. I could accept it and support him-- but it is not the homerun hire I am looking for---I still have a bitter taste from the whole Pierce/Iowa incident...Time will tell.

IU 77--Wiscy 74------and the committee starts looking at us again.

I have to laugh at the pac-10 love every year. I have heard several predict 2 pac -10 teams in the final 4 which I am not buying. Same old story and just like Gonzaga ---they usually flop against teams from power conferences or who know how to play defense.

I know it is not a popular opinion on here---but I would take another look if we made an NCAA Final Four run ---and Banner 6 would do the trick for me and get him another couple years to see if he could keep us elite. That would be the progress I expected to see this year given our talent and early season success. Back to reality---I do not see that happening and the inconsistency and lack of improvement with excellent talent is why it is time for a change. Just another average seed and sweet sixteen berth is no longer enough. He has had ample opportunity and been unable to deliver the results expected at an elite program.

Devonte and Davis are keepers----will be great to watch their continued development.

And they usually improve and get better as the year goes on---virtually every year. I'd take Izzo or a coach like him in a heartbeat!

Nice win tonight. I actually want to beat Wiscy too----still should not save Crean's job as we can't finish with a winning record in the BIG which is inexcusable with all our talent. Crean just got a lot more in demand which will also help him land a new position which is fine by me as he is a good person and a good coach---just not the one to take us to banner 6.

Reading all the tea leaves---sure looks like Crean is gone. The multi-million dollar question IU must get right is WHO is the replacement? Leaks should start soon. Loose lips time...

Good one! I was talking to some Purdue fans today and they were sarcastically saying we should keep Crean. I responded we are looking for a GREAT coach and Painter is not on the list. They actually agreed but what was interesting was they were terrified about a potential Billy Donovan hire as they fear he would return IU to greatness. Come on Glass---everyone else can see it. We need you to see it.

I like your thinking-----we have 2 ways to win here-----1) Glass/IU makes the change or 2) Crean/his family decide to leave. Either way we end up with a new Coach! Crean has shown the inability to get us all the way back so #1 should occur---but I could see the Crean family being tired of the constant pressure in the IU bubble and going to a less stressful environment as long as the $$ is close. So---show them the money Mizzou!

I think I am going to be sick.....please no more mid-major projects---we need a proven winner!

I was hoping we would hear something before the BTT but now it appears it will be after the BTT--I still think he is gone or IU would have publicly embraced him by now to maximize recruiting. Patience is needed but we just need this to be over with. I am still in the Crean to Mizzou and Donovan to IU camp. We deserve a coach like Billy D after what we have been through post-Knight. Please let something break soon--I can't sleep--I'm nauseous --my palms are sweaty--I am on edge--my family says I am now moody and grumpy---my blood pressure is through the roof--this old school Hoosier is trying to be patient but this hire is SO important to the future of IU Basketball--we have to get it right this time--we need the home run hire --just pay the money already!
