Lots of noise and clutter and I believe things that are decoys---so it may be wishful thinking but I say--- where there is smoke ---there is fire. I still believe sanity and reason will prevail in the end and the change will be made as soon as our NIT time is over---so I am going to TRY to quit fretting and root my Hoosiers on to victory. Winning or losing a NIT game isn't going to change anything. However you want to cut it---the season has been a huge disappointment with great talent. Again--I like Tom and appreciate his dedication and hard work. I was on the Crean train for a long time because I wanted to give him a chance to prove himself. He has had plenty of time and just wasn't able to get it done on a consistent basis. No hard feelings and I wish him well. Just ready to find the coach who will get us the rest of the way there! I just cannot accept that either Glass or Crean would be that brazen given the sentiment of a HUGE portion of Hoosier Nation. Unless certain players are not going pro and there is a sleeper 5 star recruit coming ---the risk for a loud and miserable season next year for Glass and Crean is too high. Come on IU. Call a presser or make an announcement---one way or the other. This has to come to an end for the good of the state and IU fans everywhere. The only ones happy right now are Purdue fans and our other rivals---Oh and also liquor stores, and shrinks---who are doing banner business because of all the people trying to numb their pain and battling IU depression!

It's being reported that 10 other schools including Syracuse that are in the NIT are also on Spring Break but none of them turned down their home games. Lame excuse---something else is going on and maybe we find out tomorrow. We play no-name cupcake schools over Christmas break when the students are gone but we can't play a power conference school like Georgia Tech in the NIT at home because of spring break? Right! We are not buying what you are selling IU! Excuses--lame excuses.

Over 900 pages---whoop whoop! We are so getting to 1000! Anybody know what the record is?

Another thought--I don't hate this just for the fans but for our players too. It's been an up and down season but they worked hard--just too much selfish play and no true leadership. Now they have to finish out the season with what amounts to a road game in a hostile environment against a team that also beat UNC on their floor ---because their school gave up a home game even though we earned the higher seed. The administration or Crean or both put them in this difficult situation and it sucks for the players. I was looking forward to going to the Hall and supporting them one more time this year --as much of this saga is not their fault and they are stuck in the middle. Maybe IU should have declined the NIT--but I bet the players wanted and maybe even voted to play. I just wish the Administration would have the same heart --and stop being such cowards in this situation. This is a black eye to IU in my book--and reinforces how much chaos exists in our program. I told someone (once I was sure the UM players were ok) that Michigan isn't the only program that's plane is off the runway. Ours is off the runway and stuck in the mud and it's embarrassing ! I believe (no inside sources) 100 percent he is gone and he should be gone. Up until a couple years ago I was on the Crean train due to his restoring standards and respectability to the program and getting us back to conference titles and sweet 16's but there has been no consistency and he has not shown he can get us all the way back--and he has had plenty of time to do it. I will always appreciate his part and his years with our academics, graduation rates, player development, for Zeller, Oladipo, the Wat shot, Zeisloft, Yogi, etc., as there have been some truly great players and great times. Unlike some --I don't hate Crean and I like his Christian and family values but in the end he had to win big at IU as that is what he is paid to do and that is what we expect at IU which in my book is an elite program. It is time for a change. Year in and year out we just do not consistently play defense well enough to win 6 games in a row which we have to do to get banner number 6. I used to say only change coaches if we can get a homerun hire--but now I am even willing to take a chance on what would be seen as a lateral move. We need new blood. He gave it his best--he busted his butt --he got us a lot of the way back after the Sampson disaster--but he just couldn't finish the job. And yes--we sure had a lot of injuries that haunted us during his tenure but that cannot be a perpetual excuse. I hope Crean is successful wherever he goes. We just need someone who will finish the job . I don't know who that will be but I will back the new coach 100 percent. HOOSIERS FOREVER! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
