The Mocs of Chattanooga had a sweet 16 run in 1997. The Minutemen unofficially had a final four in 1996. Neither team has won an NCAA tournament game since those runs. UMass is in the Atlantic 10 which is traditionally a better conference than the SoCon. The Mocs hold an NCAA appearance edge, 11-9 and have never had an appearance vacated by the NCAA.
