With this Rutgers team, we better throttle them. I just want to see a commitment to half defense. But watch Rutgers have their season best offensive production. Either PPP will be season best or someone will have a career high. Regardless, SO glad conference is finally here. We are favored in the first 9 games. That could be some serious momentum heading through the stretch. Rest the starters when necessary to keep them fresh. Give me more OG and Morgan tonight!

PSA: Upcoming Big Ten Elite featuring the 2002 IUBB Team
bleedhoosier replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Hoping the team watched that too -
This comparison is now old as dirt but Troy was looking very oladipo -ish last night carried over from the ND game. Kind of like he can take over a game when he really wants to. I feel like I'm falling off the yogi bandwagon and jumping on Troys. Hartman finally healthy?? He just looks more in the mix now. Willing to drive, jumping a little better... And a smooth fade lol I also watched JBJ specifically all game. My goodness this kid isn't even remotely engaged on defense... Unless he feels it may lead to a breakaway dunk. Easily my least favorite player and its not close. His selfishness on offense will cost us games in the bigten. This kid wont be a pro until he decides to play team ball. Daddy spoiled young Jimbo. I thought he worked on his driving all summer? He is literally the same player as last year. He should be living at the line.

Rojo Blackmon Williams Davis/Hartman Bryant Wooooo

Twice this season. In Maui and I almost want to say he didn't get the start against Creighton? Maui is when his mom flipped her lid and sent a twitter blast because he didn't get to start
-
So where do I go with this one.. It's already been said but Rob Johnson is our man. While the majority of the starting five have their tampons hung sideways, Rojo just stays quiet and produces. Thomas Bryant... Was so mad he was literally crying after that blowup. I would too playing with these soft batches.. Im going to catch flack for this but I think what is wrong with this team is Williams/Blackmon/possibly Yogi. Much like Purdue, we may do better with less. Not saying these guys are not super producers. Just that this team will NEVER come together for REAL until this little combo is broken up. I guess what I'm saying is we have a little princess-superstar-ego mutiny on our hands with these 3. Mods, feel free to correct me I that seems like a shot at the players. And Crean, 2 things: 1) make this team feed Bryant almost every possession for a high % shot, foul or kick out 2) you need to give this 1-3-1 thing a serious shot because it was active and wrecked ND. Brey must have never had his guys practice against a 1-3-1 because they definitely looked uncertain out there the last few mins. Im also sick of watching other pg's steal the show from yogi. Maybe I've been blind. Maybe yogi isn't anywhere close to the nations top pg. If he was, he would be the general of the team and win the big games like elite pg's do. Im just frustrated with him right now I suppose.

Bo Ryan retires effective immediately- Investigated
bleedhoosier replied to Fulkme15's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Pretty darn good career for the man. Great coach. Here I was thinking when Bo finally retired that Indiana would reclaim the throne or be in better spot for it since he always seems to have Crean's number. Kind of like Crean always having Bielein's -
Our front court should be pretty nasty next year.. TB, DD, OG and Morgan
-
Im on board with this thread! Rojo as a senior and gaining a little nasty streak could he a little dez wells-ish! But with a great outside shot
-
in that case.. Bailey, since you're relaying information back to coach tell him good job on the recent defensive hedge work and the recent wrinkle in offense that looks like some sort of high-low action.. Also, matt painter tracks post feeds, u should definitely scrap reflections and start the post feed tracking

I get ya and its nothing I feel strongly about. I get the students are having a blast with it and I don't want to discourage or offend any of yall. What I know is when this program blows up, Priller will be our starting center. Then yall are going to be exhausted at the end of every game going ape on every move he makes in 28 mins..
-
very true. It's humorous but how does Quentin Taylor feel, or Ryan Burton? I dunno. I think the crowd almost sounds mocking, like you said Wayne. The wife thinks its super tacky too. Can't we all just go nuts when any of the walk ons get in the game and about to make a play. The slap on the butt to OG that drew a wild applause made me feel like I'm not into this priller thing anymore. Maybe that's why Crean is pissed. Our fan base would rather go ape over Prillee than give a real standing ovation to RoJo who is playing his tail off right now. I dunno, It's not genuine and just feels like the outward emotion of a crowd that enjoys gimmicky crap instead of hard nose basketball.

But lets get real.. We need to get serious at some point..we should really have a home and home with Kansas, Louisville and UK or even UCLA. Then mix in all the other teams. I would feel a lot better about 300 teams if we got some real comp mixed in. Tom tries to hope for a matchup in a holiday tourney and then flirt with 1 actual matchup because "we have the bigten challenge and the crossroads classic.
-
Here I thought this was a much improved schedule this summer. Schedule a few flipping marquee matchups. Doing this same schedule and adding Louisville and having the crossroads classic next year is not good enough either but I'm sure it is in coach's eye. Mini tourneys are not how you schedule marquee matchups. Maybe a home and home with SMU as well?? Valpo, Ohio u... Who was our marquee last year or 2 years ago maybe, Washington? This program man....

Our big men learned how to hedge! Seriously though, lets divide Max's brain matter amongst the fest of the team. Such a sound, fundamental player. Thank you for bringing the hook back into the picture. Yea Crean has been sitting here and there the last few games but this looked different. Wondered if he wasn't feeling well or trying to force more player leadership by standing off. Who knows. Did we just see an assistant run the team?
