  1. Eric Bossi from Friday's Hensley Run-N-Slam event. Talk about explosive, three-star combo guard Leland Walker looks like he’s been shot out of a cannon when he gets downhill and looks to elevate in traffic. The six-footer for Team Teague is stronger than you think and he puts a lot of pressure on you to be ready to help if you aren’t his primary defender because the first guy, he’s blowing by him. Walker had initially planned to commit early, but things seem to have opened up now. Indiana is going to monitor him, Xavier has been on him for a while, Providence was in the mix during the winter while Cincinnati, among many others, will be involved.
  2. Eric Bossi on Friday night's Hensley Run-N-Slam. One of 247Sports top 75 sophomores in the country, shooting guard Reed Sheppard is a plenty bouncy finisher at the rim. His Midwest Basketball Club won big on Friday so he didn’t need to score much and didn’t look to take many shots. Instead, he impressed with his passing and ability to find open teammates. At about 6-foot-3, he looks well deserving of the attention he’s been getting of late.
  3. Josh Verlin @jmverlin @Nepa_Elite’s 17s hung with the @NYRhoops for the first dozen minutes but now it’s 37-21 Rens early in the second half. Nobody can stop Kyle Filipowski today. Best player in the gym.
  4. Colby Giacubeno - Scout/Recruiting Analyst for PrepHoops. @NYRhoops with a dominant 73-58 win over Team Final. ‘22 Kyle Filipowski (21pts) is as good as advertised.
  5. Mike Schumann @ The Daily Hoosier Also, was never sure if #iubb had offered 2022 Minnesota point guard Tre Holloman. He said they did offer but he hasn’t heard from the new staff.
  6. Mike Schumann @ The Daily Hoosier @daily_hoosier Caught up with three players who just went head to head and all confirmed #iubb interest — 2022 Illinois guard Jaden Schutt and 2023 guards Gabe Cupps and Reed Sheppard.
  7. Reed Sheppard's name first popped up with IU interest in February -- Reed Sheppard a 6'2" combo guard attends North Laurel HS in London, KY. Sheppard averaged 20.6 points per game as a freshman for North Laurel before exploding as a sophomore, averaging 35 points — and making 43 percent of his three-point shots — over the team’s first 12 games, all victories. He’s reached 50 points on multiple occasions and still manages to achieve high assist totals despite his impressive scoring performances. Recent reports indicate we're staying in contact with him. He plays AAU ball for Midwest Basketball Club on the Adidas circuit. Last night MBC defeated Indiana Elite 78-51 and Sheppard had 8 pts; 8 reb; 9 assists and 6 steals. This today from Trent Markwith of Relentless Hoops: No slowing down for Reed Sheppard, he was exceptional in all 3 of Midwest’s pool games to help them go 3-0. Offers from Iowa and Texas A&M have come in, I think he’ll be among the most heavily recruited 2023 prospects before long. Tough and does it all. You can find a number of links to additional info on Sheppard back on page 3 of this thread for anyone interested.
  8. Didn't think Leland Walker was still on our radar. Mike Schumann @ The Daily Hoosier @daily_hoosier: Walker is one of the best I’ve seen in 2022 class at finishing through contact. Caught up with him after this game, he continues to hear from IUBB. Trent Markwith of Relentless Hoops: Leland Walker played a well-rounded game & was hard to stop off the dribble against Meanstreets. He’s fast & creative when attacking and did a good job of knowing when to score or kick out. Has a package of soft floaters and unique ability to hang & adjust to finish. This past HS season he averaged 20ppg / 4apg / 2spg
  9. Trevor Andershock at the Hensley Run-N-Slam: Jalen Washington (2022) is shooting the *%#$ out of it against Team Teague - pick and pops, face-ups in the mid-range, finishing at the basket. It's been a tremendous day for the @GWSBoysBball forward. But, Andershock also tweeted: Make that three (dunks) as Caedmon Bontrager puts Jalen Washington on a poster Samad Hines: Super impressive game this morning from 2022 F Jalen Washington (@jalen_w13). Watched him post 25 points (10-14 FG 2-5 from 3) in a win. Very skilled versatile big man, runs the floor, able to score in different ways, and plays at his own pace.
  10. Coastal Carolina transfer DeVante’ Jones tells ESPN he has committed to Michigan. Sun Belt Player of the Year. One of the best guards left. 19.3 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 36.8% 3PT.
  11. Purely an FYI / FWIW -- Butler has offered '22 Rowan Brumbaugh a teammate of Brown's at Northfield Mount Hermon HS.
  12. I'm putting you on the spot and you can only pick one or the other. Based on having watched Race for several years and watching a single game of Onu, who will be of bigger value to us next season?
  13. Rothstein: Jackson Davis primed for massive junior season at Indiana https://collegehoopstoday.com/index.php/rothstein-files/weekend-brunch-jackson-davis-primed-for-massive-junior-season-at-indiana/

  15. Trevor Andershock with comments on Xavier Booker at last night's Bill Hensley Run-N-Slam event: Cathedral’s Xavier Booker inserted himself into the mix with a massive bang-out after rolling down the lane. The defender also fouled Booker on the play. Then Booker popped for two three-pointers and a couple more scores in the lane. It was an impressive first half. In the second half, Booker had a tip dunk that made the gym go crazy. The 6’10” center splashed another triple as GHAI dominated.
  16. B1G Indiana Invite #4/Billy Hayes Invite It was a night of distance races for Indiana Track & Field where they competed across three events under the lights at the Robert C. Haugh Track Complex. To highlight the Big Ten Indiana Invite No. 4/Billy Hayes Invite, Kyle Mau ran his first 5000m of the season where he won in a time of 13:48.01. Arjun Jha was the next Hoosier to cross the finish line and he placed fourth with a personal record time of 13:53.80. Ben Miller also took home a personal record with a time of 14:15.42 and finished in seventh overall. On the women's side, Sarah Schmitt crushed her previous personal best by capturing a time of 16:13.39. Schmitt placed fourth overall. Rounding the competition for the Hoosiers, Jake Gebhardt picked up sixth in the steeplechase and notched a personal record time of 8:58.59. The Hoosiers will be back in action on Saturday, May 1 to conclude the final meet of the regular season. Field events will begin at 1 p.m. while events on the oval are slated to start at 2:45 p.m.
  17. Honest question -- with only 1 year of eligibility and the weaknesses you pointed out would we be a better team for that single year?
  18. Gabe Cupps (#2) Midwest Basketball Club AAU team is participating in the Bill Hensley Run-N-Slam in Ft. Wayne this weekend. I think this link will let you watch his game against the Indiana Elite team. You want the game on court 3. https://gymratsbasketball.com/live-stream/

  21. May a thousand fleas infest your crotch and your arms be too short to scratch.
  22. We've knocked on the door but we also never know for sure if it's genuine interest or are we simply building goodwill with a high school or AAU coach for the future by kicking the tires and letting the kid and school get some free PR.
  23. Good story on Roman Celentano from IDS News - https://www.idsnews.com/article/2021/04/iu-mens-soccer-goalkeeper-roman-celentano
  24. I love this time of year. New '23 name on the IU radar -- Gabe Cupps of Centerville, OH, playing 'up' on the Midwest Basketball Club AAU team and I love seeing current sophomores willing to do that. "Indiana has been the biggest on me, they have been reaching out the most consistently," he said. "They just tell me to keep working, keep getting stronger and keep winning." https://247sports.com/Article/Gabe-Cupps-b.asketball-recruitment-Indiana-Kansas-Clemson-164859062/ Stats HUDL
