  4. 5-star SF Kwame Evans Jr. of Montverde (FL) Academy and the Team Durant AAU program received an IU offer yesterday. He previously played his high school ball at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute whose '19-20 season was cut short due to COVID-19. He was a starter on that team and averaged 9.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 blocked shots per game until the day of the Maryland state tournament semifinals and the season abruptly ended. Baltimore public schools did not play at all in the '20-21 season and with the uncertainty for '21-22 he transferred to Montverde. His father is considered one of the greatest players in George Washington U. history and inducted into its half of fame in 2014. @KwameEvansJr 247 Rivals Hudl https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-indiana-offers-2023-5-star-forward-kwame-evans-jr/?fbclid=IwAR0_7Olpy_Kk9uhHjTdPo6l5BDKLkWa0H85ZXfc10pArq8XI1bBwqd_eAyY

  9. This is embarrassing. Received word from Orlando @mamasa has been detained at the park after he tried to cut in line ahead of an 8-year old and put her in tears. Tsk tsk. Such shameful behavior. He'd better get his act together and re-take control of the Field Hockey thread. But on a more upbeat note. The Indiana Field Hockey team beat Bellarmine 3-0 on Monday afternoon in IU's first home match since 2019. With the victory, IU improves to 4-1 (0-0) while Bellarmine drops to 1-2 (0-0). KEY MOMENTS • Freshman midfielder Sofia Arrebola Garcia recorded an early shot that was saved by the Bellarmine goalkeeper. • Sophomore forward Anna Gwiazdzinski opened the scoring inside five minutes off a cross into the box from fellow sophomore forward Jemima Cookson. Gwiazdzinski took the one time shot and buried it into the back of the net. • Freshman midfielder Kira Curland scored just eight minutes later with a shot into the corner of the net off an assist from freshman back Yip van Wonderen. • IU dominated possession the entirety of the possession in the first half and had a couple of chances in the second quarter but couldn't extend its two-goal lead. • Curland grabbed her second of the afternoon late in the fourth quarter to give IU an insurance goal. NOTABLES • Monday afternoon marked IU's first home game since October 18th, 2019 against Iowa. It was also the first victory in Bloomington since September 8th, 2019. • Curland's brace was her second of the season. 14. Our field hockey expert @mamasa takes the day off and the IU women lose their first game of the season 4-0 to Lafayette. From the boxscore Lafayette controlled the game throughout getting 17 shots with 8 of them on goal vs. IU with just 7 shots with 2 on goal. And that would be the extent of my knowledge about field hockey.
