USA team finally had to work up a sweat. After they were tied with Canada 47-47 at halftime, they pulled away in the second half for a 99-81 victory and will face Argentina today at 9:30 p.m. ET for the gold medal. Fears played 17 min. and scored 18 pts. on 5-9 FG and 8-10 FT. He added 1 reb; 2 asst; 3 stls and did not commit a TO. He's now committed just a single TO in his last 62 min. of play and has had 13 assists.

Rob Cassidy after the latest Rivals rankings announced. Movement: Up from No. 32 to No. 20 overall The lowdown: Hood-Schifino has added a load of lean muscle over the past year and already knows how to use his strength to get to the bucket. These days, the 6-foot-5 guard has the physicality to go along with his plus ball handling and an ability to get to his spots, in addition to his knack for finishing in traffic. His reshaped body has also helped him on the defensive end, where he’s one of the more positionally versatile defenders among the guards in this class. He seems to be a nice fit in the Big Ten, which makes sense, considering he recently committed to Indiana. Where he might land: Hood-Schifino is committed to Indiana.

(2022) PF Malik Reneau to INDIANA
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Rob Cassidy after latest Rivals rankings announced. Movement: Up from No. 52 to No. 24 overall The lowdown: Reneau set himself apart in the EYBL circuit, but also impressed at the NBAPA Top-100 camp in Orlando. The versatile lefty rarely makes a bad decision with the ball and is an underrated passer in addition to a gifted scorer and rebounder. His skill, length and basketball IQ allow him to get away with being a little less athletic than some others at the position. He’s become a much better shooter over the last year. Where he might land: Reneau’s recruitment is a Sunshine State affair. There are other schools involved, sure, but at this point he seems unlikely to leave the state. Florida, Florida State and Miami are all heavily in the mix. Memphis is alive as a dark horse option as well. -

They really should just declare the USA team the winners and send everyone else home. In last night's game against Mexico, the USA team had a 40 point halftime lead and cruised to a 123-53 win. Fears played 19 minutes and scored 11 pts. on 4-8 FG; 0-1 on 3s; 3-4 FT. He added 6 reb; 3 asst; 2 stl; 1 TO. He's now committed just a single TO in his last 45 min. of court time. Tonight's semifinal pits the USA against Canada at 9:30 ET.

My hometown of Logansport is in a somber mood today. We learned yesterday that one of the marines killed in the suicide bombing in Afghanistan was a 22-year old resident and graduate of Logansport High School. Asking for prayers for Cpl. Humberto Sanchez and his family as well as for all the other families who lost a loved one in that bombing.
