Sounds like there wasn't just smoke at PUke with Sharon Versyp and the allegations made against her. She announced her immediate retirement today and Katie Geralds who was previously announced as her successor in waiting is now head coach.

Full details of the coaching change. Interesting point is that the two non-coaching staff members positions had to have existed as of Aug. 1, 2021. Probably lots of backdating of job descriptions taking place today. https://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/general-di-council-approves-modernization-track

Noah Vonleh - Shanghai Sharks
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to ccgeneral's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Free agent forward Noah Vonleh is expected to sign with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, sources tell Emiliano Carchia of Sportando. Vonleh, 26, was the ninth overall pick in the 2014 draft. Since entering the NBA, he has appeared in a total of 339 regular season games for Charlotte, Portland, Chicago, New York, Minnesota, Denver, and Brooklyn. However, the 6’10” forward hasn’t been a regular rotation player for an NBA club since the 2018/19 season, when he averaged 8.4 PPG and 7.8 RPG in 68 games (25.3 MPG) for the Knicks. Vonleh was out of the NBA for most of 2020/21, having spent just a couple weeks in February with the Nets before being waived. He appeared in four games for Brooklyn. For much of the offseason, the Chinese Basketball Association hadn’t permitted its teams to add foreign players due to coronavirus-related concerns. However, now that the league has opted to play its 2021/22 season in a bubble, foreign players will be allowed in the CBA. Shanghai hasn’t wasted any time in taking advantage of the rule changes, having already agreed to a deal with ex-NBA wing Jamaal Franklin. Carchia reports that the Sharks are also expected to bring back former NBA lottery pick Jimmer Fredette, who has spent most of the last five seasons in Shanghai. -
From Jon Rothstein Sources: The NCAA has approved that starting on 9/20, two non-coaching staff members in men's and women's basketball can engage in on-court practice activity during the 21-22 season. No more than four coaches and non-coaching staff members combined, may give instruction.

Munie Tabbed Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week Indiana redshirt junior defender Daniel Munie was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon. The Maryland Heights, Mo., native was a key piece in slowing down a potent Akron offensive attack as the No. 9-ranked Indiana Hoosiers played the No. 16-ranked Akron Zips to a 1-1 (2OT) draw. The Hoosiers faced a season-high 16 shots, but only three were credited on frame. In the 66th minute, Munie delivered the game's first goal. He found the back of the net off a corner kick from junior forward Victor Bezerra. Munie flicked a header into the back of the net off the take to score his first goal of the 2021 season. Munie has tallied three collegiate goals during his time at Indiana, all three have come in the second half. His two goals in 2020-21 were both match winners. The No. 11-ranked Indiana Hoosiers will back in action on Sept. 17 against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The Big Ten opener is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium. Tickets can be purchased here. -
