  1. http://collegebasketball.nbcsports.com/2017/01/05/what-has-gone-wrong-with-indiana/ Rob Dauster must be following btb because his article pretty much mirrors what this thread has complained about with this year's team. The final paragraphs of the article: "At the end of the day, this is an Indiana team with a flawed roster. They have no point guard, which makes them entirely reliant on making difficult threes to win games, and they have no alpha-dog, which makes it just that much more difficult to stop runs within a game and to stop losing streaks within a season. They’ll finish in the top four or five of a Big Ten that isn’t all that intimidating. They’ll win 22 games and get to the NCAA tournament, and if they get the right draw, they might be able to get to the second weekend. But that’s about all Indiana fans should expect from a team that used Juwan Morgan to initiate offense on critical possessions at home against Big Ten favorites Wisconsin."
  2. Tweets out there that after having recalled Troy to the Grizzlies just yesterday today they sent him back down.
  3. Also a positive sign given the change in the leadership of the program.
  4. NBC SPORTS Jordan Howard named final offensive rookie of the month for 2016 Ezekiel Elliott of the Cowboys was the highest-profile rookie running back this season, but he wasn’t the only one to make a major impact. Bears fifth-rounder Jordan Howard wound up with 1,313 rushing yards over the course of the season, which left him second in the league behind Elliott. It’s the first time that rookies have been the two leading rushers in the league. Howard didn’t play in the season opener and was in a lesser role in the early weeks of the season, but he came on strong down the stretch to get up to the No. 2 spot in the league. Over the final five weeks of the season, Howard ran 103 times for 547 yards and four touchdowns and that made him the pick as the league’s final offensive rookie of the month for the 2016 season. It also made him as bright a spot as there was in a 3-13 season for the Bears and should make him one of the pieces they’ll build around in Chicago as they try to improve on that record in 2017.
  5. Ahem, RMK came from Army.

  7. As an in-game coach I think he's proven to be quite good. As a recruiter, a little early to know for certain, but his 2016 class included Joey Brunk 4-star center out of Southport and Kamar Baldwin (3-star) who's already moved into the starting lineup. His 2017 class ranking is even better. FYI, you won't find any meaningful Butler statistics for Brunk as he's played very little and will likely redshirt. He's missed a lot of time because of his father's health issues. http://butler.247sports.com/Season/2017-Basketball/Commits
  8. And neither one of them will be strong enough to run the table. IMO 'Nova was the only team left with that potential before last night's visit to Hinkle Fieldhouse.
  9. Now that you're no longer a 'virgin', we better see more New Topic posts from you. ...heart, effort, dedication = playing FOR Indiana not at Indiana.
  10. In a game that intense, Butler and Villanova only had 14 TO's combined.
  11. VICTORY! Lady Hoosiers started strong and take the win 78-62. Gassion a career high of 26 points; Buss 13; Cahill 12. Cahill with 9 rebounts. Note that Cahill did her thing in only 16 minutes of game action due to foul trouble. That's a heckuva performance. Minny committed 22 TO's and we scored 25 pts. That was the key to the game plus strong play from our bench especially in the first half. Next up is a Jan. 10, trip to Ann Arbor and the Wolverinettes.
  12. Nick Baumgart ‏@Nick_Baumgart The difference between a team with a 21.8% (IU) turnover rate & a team with a 15.4% (Butler) turnover rate is 4.5 possessions per 70 trips.
  13. That's it from Hinkle. Dawgs knock off 'Nova 66-58.
  14. End of the 3rd and the Ladies are hangin' tough and lead 57-43 but Minny isn't folding and IU only 2 of its last 11 from the field. Cahill and Anderson each with 3 fouls.
  15. Butler up 5 over 'Nova; under 2 min. left.
  16. Ladies getting the job done and at the half lead 42-23. Fortunately, no further foul problems so we'll start the second half in good shape from that standpoint. Leading scorers Gassion 12; Buss 10. Bench has responded greatly contributing 10 reb. and 11 pts. Ladies also shooting well; Minny not-so-well.
  17. Class of '19 TE; younger brother of Tyler Lytle. Spencer Lytle‏@_SpencerLytle_ Blessed and humbled to receive my first scholarship offer from Indiana University
  18. End of 1 and the Ladies lead 17-6. BUT, all is not good in SSAH as both Cahill and Wickware picked up 2 fouls each. On the other side, Minny has really been careless with the ball and already has 8 TO's which has led to 10 pts. for us. Buss with 8 pts. so her consecutive game streak of double digit scoring shouldn't be in jeopardy.
  19. Coach K did a great job of finessing the AAC by announcing his 'indefinite' suspension before the AAC reacted. Won't be able to pull that stunt again if there is another incident with Allen.
  20. How convenient. Capel will have to answer all the questions about Allen and not Coach K.
  21. The latest from Hutch - http://www.heraldbulletin.com/opinion/terry-hutchens-column-what-s-wrong-with-iu-basketball-here/article_a4916a10-d2d0-11e6-93a4-27cd70a244dd.html I found myself chuckling as I read it because it's a perfect composite of what almost everyone on this thread has said in one way or another. If it's so darn obvious to the world, why can't CTC see it? Why can't his assistant coaches? Are they nothing more than 'yes' men? Maybe a housecleaning needs to start with the assistant coaches. At this point, we seem to be living "The Peter Principle" with our basketball coaching staff in toto. And for those who are scratching their heads and saying what the heck is "The Peter Principle" see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_principle One of the key points made by the author - "In time, every post tends to be occupied by an employee who is incompetent to carry out its duties." Is this where we are with our coaching staff?
  22. This will be a tough game for our Ladies as they sit in No. 59 in the NCAA RPI while Minnesota comes at league-leading No. 21. But unlike the men, they will be prepared and you won't see the mind numbing lineups and substition patterns from Coach Moren that we saw last night with the men. Lady Hoosiers (11-4, 1-1 B1G) vs. Minnesota (9-6, 0-2 B1G) in Assembly Hall. Ladies looking to rebound from their loss to Ohio State. Background Game Notes Stats - Live Radio TV BTN2Go
  23. Generally complimentary article about Debord from The Tennessean http://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/columnists/university-of-tennessee/john-adams/2017/01/04/tennessee-didnt-appreciate-mike-debord/96088978/
  24. Stevenson HS vs. Libertyville HS Thurs. the 5th. The 7:00 tipoff would be 8:00 for those of us on ET. The game will be available online at: http://www.d125.org/sbn
  25. One I could understand but 3? Apparently Colorado St. doesn't have a Marni on board. Colorado State loses 3 players to grades: http://collegebasketball.nbcsports.com/2017/01/04/colorado-state-loses-3-players-to-grades/
