  3. A day early, but this news today. "IU associate head coach Tim Buckley characterizes Juwan Morgan as likely a "game-time decision" for Penn State." I'm already nervous about this game and I didn't need to see this. Even if he plays, he won't be at 100%. RPI Rankings as of Jan. 16: http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-rpi IU #86. 4. Welcome to btb sierracoach. Hope you enjoy the ride with a great group of IU fans. Of course, you do also have to deal with Olivia! LOL
  5. OKC pounded by the Clippers 120-98. How bad was it you ask? Vic with a bad shooting night but even worse, Westbrook could only manage a single-double! 7. Yes, but if you're in the Stevens camp, that just ain't gonna happen IMO. He never coaches college ball again.
  8. I'd be on board with this. Today, Butler was down 16 at the half and came back for a win. Butler second half: 0 turnovers, 20-of-27 FG, 4-of-5 3s, 21-of-26 FTs. Holtman must have made just a couple of halftime adjustments don't you think?
  9. That must have been some halftime locker room talk you gave the team. Good work Olivia.
  10. ESPN: Jordan Howard, Taylor Decker tie for NFC North rookie of the year Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard and Detroit Lions offensive tackle Taylor Decker tied for NFC North rookie of the year honors, as voted on by the four reporters covering the division for ESPN.com. Jeff Dickerson, Chicago Bears reporter: I think it’s fair to say that for a fifth-round pick, Howard exceeded all expectations. He began the year third on the depth chart, but still rushed for 1,313 yards and six touchdowns. Howard is a physical runner who got stronger as the season wore on. He not only broke Matt Forte’s franchise rookie rushing record, he had seven games of 100 rushing yards or more. Howard will spend an entire offseason in the Bears’ voluntary workout program, and his second season could be even better. Michael Rothstein, Detroit Lions reporter: Left tackle is one of the hardest positions to transition to as a rookie in the NFL. It’s not a glamour spot, and typically the only time someone gains recognition there is when he is having a bad season. And yet after the first few games of the year, Decker’s name was barely mentioned -- and that was a very good thing. He continually improved throughout the year and protected Matthew Stafford’s blind side well. He adjusted to switches at left guard next to him with ease and looks like he could be a solution on Detroit’s offensive line for the foreseeable future. Linemen rarely get noticed, but he had a really good season for Detroit. Rob Demovsky, Green Bay Packers reporter: When it came to rookie running backs, all the hype was around Dallas’ Ezekiel Elliott, and rightly so, but the Packers likened Howard to their own running back, Eddie Lacy, for his size and power. Packers linebacker Clay Matthews called Howard “a big, powerful back who can break tackles, and I think once he puts his foot in the dirt, turns downhill, it’s tough for the smaller guys or even the linebackers that are on the same level. I don’t think he got a lot of hype coming in this year, and he’s definitely backing up his play.” Ben Goessling, Minnesota Vikings reporter: There's a case to be made here for the Bears' Leonard Floyd, but given how much the Lions had struggled to protect Matthew Stafford in recent years -- and how much they improved in that area this year -- I'm going with Decker. He did a fine job as the Lions' left tackle, despite being thrown into a division in which he had to face the Vikings' legion of pass-rushers and the Packers' frequent blitz packages. If Decker can hold down that spot for the next seven to 10 years, the Lions will have a much better framework for Stafford's success.
  11. We've got to start using a different bait if we're going to land the big fish. I'm not going to spend the time looking at my records, but I think we had offers out to at least half of these kids - probably more than half - and couldn't land a single one. The only possibility still in play for us is M. J. Walker.

  13. Izzo's 61 years old. I feel pretty certain that MSU is his last rodeo.
  14. And this coming from the same man who went ballistic at a U of M assistant coach after a win a few season back.

  16. Okemos defeated Jackson 48-29. OKEMOS -- Laya Hartman and Jasmine Clerkley each had 11 points as the Chiefs remained perfect i the CAAC Blue with a victory over Jackson. The win was the third straight for Okemos, which is 7-2 and 5-0 in the Blue. "What I like most about our team is that everybody steps up in different ways," first-year Okemos coach Kristen Rasmussen said. "Laya was in foul trouble and we were able to maintain what our game plan was. Really everybody on our team does something different and brings something different. I think that’s what’s so special and unique about our team."
  17. I'm more upset at how it was handled. CTC could have apologized to the Rutgers coach but waited until the locker room to light into Green. Far less humiliating than being ripped in public and the message still gets across.
  18. Green played well in the first half in 10 minutes of action; only gets 3 minutes in the second half. I suppose that makes perfect sense to CTC. And the same can be said about Davis who's just now getting second half playing time.
  19. Seven steals by OG Anunoby now ties his for fourth best in IU history for a single game.
  20. Berkmar (GA) G Al Durham Jr (@aldurham01): 26 PTS, 7 REB in a win over Shiloh.
  21. Hey Recker, how many of those next 3 road games do you think we win if we only shoot 18% on 3's?
  22. Mind you, I'm not complaining but there's been no McSwain sighting today. Was he injured in the last game?
