  1. My biggest concern in this recruitment is if his family wants him so far away. From what I recall during Christian's tenure, they drove up to IU from Alabama a lot to see him play. Can't imagine that they'd want to do that again for several more years, but it is just conjecture on my part regarding it.
  2. Or Archie would have put an end to Bryant's whining on Day 1, and hopefully would have taught James how to play better defense.
  3. First I had to clarify that it was Donny Marshall and not Donyell Marshall, both of whom played at UConn. Donny Marshall's wiki currently reads: "Donny Marshall (born July 16, 1972) is an American retired professional basketball player who played six seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Jersey Nets. He is currently an awful college basketball television analyst." "Donny currently is an NCAA basketball television analyst for FOX Sports. Also providing analysis for WestwoodOne national radio broadcasts during the men’s NCAA championship basketball tournament each spring since 2014. He stated he hates the candy stripe pants at Assembly Hall. He has permanently been banned by the IU fan base." Get it while it lasts boys.
  4. Green's finally becoming the guy and learning how to run an offense without playing "hero ball." Him and Phinisee are going to be a solid rotation at the point for the next few years.
  5. I realize the answer to this is most likely "no," especially since Vic didn't come back until he was honored the other week, but has Noah ever stepped foot in Bloomington since he left? At least Oladipo has worn some IU gear, sent video support messages back to the Hall, and has acknowledged he went here...IU was obviously nothing more than a hoop to jump through for Noah, but does he even consider himself a former Hoosier? It seems like the school hasn't done much either to acknowledge his tenure here, for example they haven't used his image in any marketing involving former players (video montages, etc).
  6. Why is Haas not on the floor at the end of the game?
  7. There was also the belief at the time he was holding out for Wisconsin.
  8. Great pipeline Allen is establishing, and you have to imagine the recruits are sold on him being a player's coach.
  9. Any idea of when an announcement is likely?
  10. You're giving too much credit to 19 year olds half drunk on a Saturday night game. If the students had free reign it would not have been a cordial "please leave" chant. These are the same kids who chant BS, sit down a-hole, and F-you ref. And we have generally classy students compared to the rest of the country.
  11. Izzo isn't being let off easy, at least not now. If he's still coaching there in two seasons we can make that argument.
  12. It's a very slippery slope and unless there was a preplanned "time to go Izzo" chant, it could get out of hand very quickly.
  13. It's a different world now. Seven years ago the names Jerry Sandusky and Harvey Weinstein carried completely different meanings than they do today. Social media a bigger beast now, the public is much less forgiving, and victims are finally being empowered en masse. I don't think either Izzo or Dantonio survive this, whether it's their call or directed from above. This is a cloud that will hang over both of them for the rest of their tenures.
  14. No one is being silenced. Handing out a card to 18,000 people saying IU is aware that MSU is in a world of sh*t and please represent our school with class while navigating this topic, then posting it on national TV and the internet for all to read is hardly sweeping anything under the rug. We don't need their mess making us look bad. It's an easy target right now and IU should be above it.
  15. And what power does IU have over Tom Izzo getting fired? His program is getting grilled in the national media, the NCAA and criminal detective units are investigating, and he will be working under a new administration shortly that will likely come in to clean house. Nothing going on there is a secret to anyone and the appropriate measures will likely be taken shortly.
  16. We shouldn't lower ourselves because they're a dirty school. IU did the right thing last night.
  17. There's a difference between holding the guilty accountable and making rape-related chants during a game on national TV in front of children, families, recruits, etc. It's not IU's job to play the role of public opinion when the appropriate measures by the appropriate authorities are now being taken.
  18. It is out on the carpet and gutted all over it. Hell at this point it is the rug, like a dead animal. The scandal isn't going away, but it's an easy target and we (along with every other school) is above this. I would hate for parts of our fan base to act like Rutgers did after the Penn State scandal.
  19. They deserve a special shout out for proactively handling the potential taunting of the MSU scandals heading into tonight's game. I want to echo what Dakich said during the broadcast about being proud of the university for this. For those who missed it, these were handed out before the game.
  20. I realize part of it had to do with how many shots we missed, but out-rebounding an Izzo team 53-29? This coach gets it.
  21. The theme of today has been upsets. Let's keep the trend going tonight.
  22. Better half court offense and playing against the zone compared to the previous ten years as well. We have no reliable shooters and only one player we can count on every night. This team is what it is. There are enough pieces there between Morgan, Johnson, Green, and Hartman to make noise if they all go off on the same night, but it's wishful thinking, and the ship has likely sailed on anything remotely noteworthy to write about this season. It's tough to be patient, but we have a good group coming in that will set the foundation for Miller's tenure. Every coach has to work with what he's got. Miller has a subpar roster.
  23. The players who showed should be ripping the others for the lack of effort and poor decision making. Someone needs to lead.
  24. Someone actually put this roster together to compete in the Big Ten. "Someone".....
  25. Freddie can ride the pine for the rest of the game. Priller couldn't play this poorly.
