Exploring Potential Neutral-Site Locations
Magnanimous replied to MisterBigRig's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Let's play Ball State at Purdue. -
The score is plastered every five feet in an NBA arena. Smith checked out mentally and it likely cost his team the game. Simple as that.
-
No way. This isn't little league baseball where the whole team needs to remind the outfielders to move 10 feet to the right when a lefty comes up. Smith is a 14 year veteran. The rest of his teammates all knew what the score was, evidenced by them all being completely dumbfounded by his decision making.
-
Let it be noted that when comparing Lebron to Jordan, Jordan never had a team that didn't know what the score was with 5 seconds left in a Finals game.

JR Smith has been checked out mentally for two years.

Juwan Morgan RETURNING For Senior Season
Magnanimous replied to Cheaney40's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I said it earlier that if Juwan should be back that he and Romeo could be a tandem in the same form of Gordon and White. So we're now 2-2 on positive off-season developments. To make it 3-3 we just need three months of Green learning how to not play hero ball and I think we'll have a squad next year. -
Blame Michigan and their blow hard alumni base's influence on the conference. God forbid the OSU-UM game is played twice, or they have a protected crossover game against MSU while OSU doesn't. Michigan State should go west for Purdue. It's as simple as that.

(2018) G/F Damezi Anderson to Detroit Mercy
Magnanimous replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
There are two reasons why this class won't be like "the movement." First, it is simply called the class of 2018 and doesn't have a nickname attached to it. Second, it wasnt compiled by Tom Crean. -
I want to play Syracuse. See what a competent coach can do against them for once.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Magnanimous replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Nike sponsors AAU teams. Adidas sponsors AAU teams. UA sponsors AAU teams. So Adidas schools can only recruit Nike AAU players and vice-versa otherwise the kid is funneled there? Lets not forget that underneath all of this, and by this I mean a restaurant table, Rick Pitino knocked up his mistress. -

I think IU should drop Adidas for Etnies. -
(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA

Because everyone involved with it is an idiot. -
He played it as well as he could have. He didn't let Lebron get to the basket or get a clean pull-up. Lebron instead settled for a 15 foot, one-handed bank shot where his head was 10 feet in the air and he was falling forward. There isn't a single person on the planet who could have stopped him from making that shot.

Why hasn't Sean Miller been fired yet?

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Magnanimous replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I can't speak for Bridges but Zeller would have been at IU regardless of whether or not the one-and-done rule existed. Like Gordon, Romeo would be going straight to the NBA if he could. I also think it is worth considering how it would look if he didn't come out of his freshman year ready to leave. Not that we're going to get a lot of them necessarily, but Archie will likely reel in the occasional top 10 player going forward, and these kids want to know that the one year they're forced to go to college will pay off if they choose IU. Archie doesn't have an Anthony Davis, John Wall, or Tyus Jones to his name yet to make up for misses like Alex Poythress or Rasheed Sulaimon the way Cal and K can. It would be awesome if Romeo did stay two years under his own volition after a productive and healthy freshmen season, but the odds are heavily against that. It may be better for the program long term if the early top 10 players Archie gets do go pro after their freshmen seasons so he has something to sell 5* players and can continue to bring them in when needed. Having said all that, the one-and-done rule is likely coming to an end in the next two or three years, so what I just said is likely a moot point in the coming years. Lets just enjoy him for the year he's here. Tonight was a big night in more ways than one. -

If he is here for two years I would say that something went very wrong. -
Eron Gordon announces he is transferring from Seton Hall. No destination yet.

The Rams drafted three linebackers as well. Hopefully Tegray can beat some of them out. -
