I’m a Sox fan so take it for what it’s worth but there was little chance of the Cubs retaining Bryant after this season. He was already making record salary numbers through arbitration due to his incredible start to his career. A team that dumped Darvish due to salary crunch the writing was on the wall that there was going to be roster turnover barring a playoff run. The losing streak prior to the break made this unlikely. The decision for the Cubs on Bryant was if the deadline return would outweigh the return they’d get in next years draft once they offered him a qualifying offer at season’s end. The payroll flexibility they’ve gotten from all these deals I do suspect they will be major players in free agency this offseason. Whether that’s any of these players returning remains to be seen.

Couldn't agree more. It's not the only thing that would be needed, but in my view having the OL be a strength is one of the most important variables required to ending the drought against OSU. -

Baked! Cookies in Bloomington were amazing the one time I had them. Not to sidetrack the conversation from Lander but cookies are as good reason as any to get sidetracked -

Am I wrong in thinking this could be one of, if not the best, recruiting class in IU FB history? Really hope they can continue this momentum and land some big fish on the offensive line. -
(2022) WR Omar Cooper to Indiana

Lots of WVU retweets from him on his Twitter feed. Surprised to see his crystal ball is 100% IU. I'd probably feel confident if I were an WVU fan. With that said, hope we can land him. -
My man - we're all watching the game at the same time as you are lol
-
I'd love some of their guard play that's for sure. Drilling shots all over the place

Baylor and Drew's run the clock out offense is much better than Crean's run the clock out offense ever was. I used to hate when Crean would start that when IU was on the verge of running a team out of the building then let them back in it with stupid turnovers and poor shots. This Baylor team is so well coached
-
I just did my own - I got Baylor 101 IU 100. I laughed to myself at that one. Would love to inspect the code underneath the hood. I'm a software developer by trade, so the algorithm has peaked my interest

7/19 from 3pt land is super generous lol. Didn't know this even existed. I could get lost on this

Adam Morrison going full depression mode would be semi-entertaining

What would the score be between the 2021 Baylor Bears and the 2021 Indiana Hoosiers? Watching these guards from Baylor would have me turning that game off by the first TV timeout I'm thinking
-
I’d rather have Keion

I'm not so sure IU finishing 2nd or 3rd is a given. At least this past season's squad. I can't recall a more disappointing IU squad. They weren't expected to be conference champs or anything, but I surely didn't expect them to fold in games or quit to end the season like many, including me, think they did. I'm not saying Gonzaga would go undefeated if they were in the Big10, I'm just saying the've had a legit roster for at least the past 5 seasons. They've put Collins, Sabonis, Hachiamura, Clarke into the draft just in the past 3 or 4 drafts alone. I just think they'd hold their own. The conference they play in is not indicative to the talent they possess is my argument, which I guess everyone is more hung up on them potentially going undefeated. If the '76 doesn't care if the record is broken I don't think I should care much, but to each their own
-
PAC-10 I doubt would accept a basketball only school. I can’t recall which conference and school it was but when all the alignment stuff was happening years ago there was speculation about which schools couldn’t move where due to similar factors as Gonzaga (size and football)
-
The Gonzaga conference argument is played out. Yes they are only challenged by a BYU and occasionally a Saint Mary’s but a school without a football team isn’t going to be able to move to a better conference. Weak conference or not they’ve been legit for nearly a decade now. Routinely churning out pros, and they’d be a legit threat in any conference they’d play in if allowed to move freely but are just restricted due to their school size and lack of football

Joel Ajayi and Jalen Suggs. What a backcourt. It’s a guards game and IU needs better guards. Al Durham and Rob Phinisee aren’t going to cut whether it’s the WCC or the Big10
-
Amazing game. Unreal. Suggs - smh I wish we had someone like him or his clone
-
Wow Suggs is amazing. So strong defensively especially on the glass but he can really shoot it too
-
Ayaji played less minutes last year than Lander did this year as a redshirt freshman. He’s made quite the leap. I’d be ecstatic with that kind of jump from Lander. Ayaji shot 50% in his limited time so perhaps the bar was set higher after sitting out a year and only playing 5 minutes a game in 23 games his redshirt fr season but man he’s solid

I like the Zags but I really dislike the hook and hold rule. Not sure where it originated but players are going to constantly do it so it’s not as if it would prevent an injury, which I assume is why it was implemented.

Didn't think UCLA would be able to hang at this pace. I thought they needed to keep the game in the 60s or low 70s to stand a chance. What a good game so far. For the 100th time, I want IU to play the way Gonzaga plays. Suggs have a brother? ; )
