IU Football 2018 Recruiting Class
Demo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
The shear depth of talent in Florida is just astonishing. #111 ranked player in the state by 24/7 and ya know he's gonna be really good. #111 in Indiana is going to have a nice career at DePauw. -
(2018) G/F Damezi Anderson to Detroit Mercy
Demo replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Ya know, i really like this kid a lot. He just seems completely genuine. He gets what’s been given to him, and he respects it. Proud to have a kid like him rep’ing our school. -
2019 General Recruiting Thread

I would think you're right about this. Plus, I've been told he's one Illinois' high priorities, along with Okoro, who I also like a lot. Both Hurt and Watford feel a bit pipedreamish to me. TJD is obviously huge. Not a Brooks fan at all. -
2019 General Recruiting Thread

Dude, you want it, you got it: Wasn't charting, but I had him at 33/11 with 4 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Cart'ere Gordon didn't play(suspension), so Wedster didn't have a physical matchup for him. Compensated by constant doubling and playing really physically with him. Legit 6'7", probably 225. Great body. Strong lower half, broad shoulders, wingspan in the 7ft range. Physically, he could walk in and hold up today. Exceptional leaper, particularly for a kid that thick. Doesn't have to gather at all. Got 1 rebound by going up 3 times without gathering. Good lateral movement. Can really run and runs hard. Multiple times he rebounded, outletted, and ran himself into a secondary option on the break. Hands were pretty good but not his best quality. Physically, he is a complete pkg. Skill-wise, he is an awful lot like JM. Good handle, can face up and straight line to the rim. Pretty good footwork on the block. Finished with both hands. Made a couple of nice passes out of doubles. Made good decisions with the ball all game. Jumper is very clean with good lift. Made a step back 3 to open the game. Very good rebounder. Undisciplined defensively. Tried to block everything and gave up multiple weakside offensive boards. Also went for a couple of steals and got out of position. Easily correctable stuff. Best quality: kid played HARD. Webster was really physical with him and Liddell gave as good, or better, than he got. When he anchored on the block, Webster couldn't move him with a crowbar. Played through a ton of contact and never got frustrated. Love him. He is a pleasure to watch play. I hope we're seriously involved here. Would take him over Brooks all day, every day. He's Juwan with a vastly superior athletic pkg. No chance there are 50 better players in '19. -

I'm seeing Liddell tonight. They play Webster Groves, which has Cart'ere Gordon, who's a 6'8", kind of Swanigenesque, top 100 kid going to SLU. Talked to a few people about him and been told that the kid is just a complete warrior. Hypercompetitive. Really looking forward to seeing him. -
(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA

Strange. Every woman under the age of 50 seems to have vacated their section. Wonder why that is? -
(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati
Demo replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
One of Phinisee's best qualities from my admittedly limited viewings of him is that he is really clever finishing at the rim. Uses the rim well. Great stutter dribble. Finishes with either hand, and does so from some awkward angles that look really tough to block. When he gets strong enough to finish consistently through contact, I would think he will put a lot of bigs on the bench with fouls and probably have more than his share of and 1's. -
Our Sr guards. 2 turnovers and a bad shot in the last 2 minutes. Purdue’s seniors executed
-
Terrible defensive decision by Archie. Morgan can’t play Haas with 4 fouls and no help.
-
The best looking jumper Rojo has put up all year.
-
Not a chance. Keep those impermissible benefits coming! My moral indignation does not extend to me

In the last 2 seasons Florida is undefeated in games of theirs that I've watched. Some booster or Asst Coach needs to pay me to watch them.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Demo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Self was at the Marshall County Hoopfest a couple of years ago and was being lustily booed by the Big Blue Mafia. He had the sort of grin on his face that must only stem from knowing that you outearn the entire gym. -
(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati
Demo replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If Phinisee and Anderson get deep enough into the State Tournament, they can both get to 2000 career points. Landing Romeo would obviously make 3. Off the top of my head I don't remember any single class of ours with that much production, -

Let's see the alpha dog push back against 4000 of Romeo's closest friends. -

IU at Illinois Game Thread (1/24 - 9pm - BTN)
Demo replied to KB0's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. Putting up 500 shots a day doesn't make a kid a better shooter. Putting up 500 fundamentally sound, repetitive shots a day makes a kid a better shooter. Just go back and look at Johnson, Newkirk or Hartman from past years. Their shots have deteriorated, all of them. That may be because this staff puts more time and emphasis on structural elements than constantly drilling skill pieces. But there's a price for that. -

Yeah, this may not be a talented roster. And it may not be a great fit for Archie's structure. But with the exception of Morgan and McRoberts, I'm gonna guess that every other holdover rotation player is shooting worse from both 2 and 3, and obviously FT's, than last year. That ain't on Crean. That's a skill development issue with this staff. -

Was McSwain looking at the camera before he shot that free throw? -

Get Morgan off of Black before he picks up #2 -
Been looking for a chance to see Tremont Waters. I'd forgotten that LSU has got to have the ugliest court in the country, non-Oregon division.
-
Wisky getting absolutely handled by Iowa. God, every time I watch them I want to throw up over that loss.
-
Disagree completely. He's gotten into the habit of trying to force things. But that team is top 15 because of Young, period. Without him, they're us.
-
Nothing like getting screwed by the refs a couple of times to get a home crowd into a game.
-
Saw him in High School and didn't really like him that much. Bad body language. Effort wasn't great. He was a kid. He's a man now.
