Chandler Whitmer to Replace Tino Sunseri
Demo replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Love it. I have no interest in 60 year old dudes on their 10th job in 20yrs. Keep bringing in young, smart and hungry, grow ‘em, move them on to their next step and keep growing that coaching tree. Love that Cig thinks that way. -

Seems like a reasonable data point now. If CTA had tried that there wouldn’t have been enough scholly’s. -
(2025) QB - Julian Lewis to Colorado (for now)

Quite the life lesson for young JuJu. If you make a deal with as brazenly transactional a dude as you will ever meet you had better have plan B ready to roll for when the other shoe inevitably drops. -

Sticking his finger in Riley's eye for 6 months and then ending up across the street would be cold-blooded. I'm regretting this not working out less every day. -
My Mom probably watched 100 games of mine and the only basketball play she knew was the freaking picket fence.

Wow, Huss is going pretty deep in the weeds on someone’s part. Like it. Gotta say, if and when an actual hiring process is live it is going to be entertaining as hell around here. Moreso than the last 2 hires, which were fun in their own rights. I mean, we’re 4 months out from there even being an actual opening and the 4 names being pre-pitched with the most frequency are: 1) a guy who 9 months ago 99% of fans had never heard of and was coaching in a 2K seat gym, 2) a guy who’s currently 11 games into a new job, 3) a guy who hasn’t coached in college in 10 years, hasn’t coached at all in 3, and we have been collectively punching ourselves in the face over for years, and 4) an almost comically corrupt dude in his mid-60’s who’s trying to leverage his son a job. It’s gonna be insanity, which will be so much freaking fun.

(2023) - SG Jakai Newton to INDIANA
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Ok, got a question for you lawyer types: IU seems to put out injury stuff like Newton’s generically as “lower body” or in that vein while pretty much every other school reports that I’ve seen or read specifically mention “knee” or “back” or whatever it might be. Why is that? Do they interpret something HIPPA-related more conservatively than other schools or have they just made an in house decision to be as vague as possible? -

The 25yo college player will never end. -
https://x.com/BigTenNetwork/status/1869528078000533646 Love this. Great kids. Ellison continues to move up my board of all time favorite IUFB players. Expecting a big night Friday from him. Had never heard about the X connection before.

Destination TV. 2 really well-coached teams that both have highly exploitable matchups.

Iowa just needs to keep swinging until they hit. I swear, I will never understand how Ferentz watched Cade McNamara’s 3 years of meh at Michigan and thought , “Yeah, I gotta get us some of that right there.” -
(2026) - SF Jalen Montonati to Oklahoma State
Demo replied to Demo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Wow, that is a great win. The Mingo brothers are both McDAA types and James is a top 100 kid going to Marquette. Montonati putting on a show against kids like that at an event like City of Palms will blow him up. He could be top 15ish in no time. -
Would think it’s entirely possible he ends up back in Indiana very soon. Just not at Indiana.

Both Cherry and Mendoza got redshirts, correct? So with a portal addition they would have 4 scholarship QB’s, 2 of whom are still freshman. Is it common to carry 5 QB’s on scholly or is this a PWO situation?

Keep those really good FCS kids with the giant chips on their shoulder comin’! Love that strategy so much. -
Well, that’s not that impressive. I mean, Mgbako only has 17 losses with Woody….wait, in how many years? Nvm

Wake Forest WR Deuce Alexander enters the portal. 36 catches as a redshirt freshman. Apparently had a JMU offer in HS. IU certainly had good luck with Wake Forest kids this year. -

Supposedly, Hudson’s deal with Texas A&M. Insane if true. But, hey, kid caught 8 passes last year. Makes me even happier that Cig is focusing on hungry lower level kids moving up. -
He was just a bit before my time at IU. My memory of him as a player was with the Suns and I was 10 or 12 and I think he retired just when I got into high school. He was a freaking good player.

Actually, I’m keeping a pretty good eye on the Falcons-Raiders. I’m feeling a possible Michael Penix sighting.

1 of the truly under-appreciated legends of IU basketball. High School All-American. Mr Basketball at Manual with his twin brother, Tom as well as Trester Award winner. All American at IU. Multiple time NBA All Star. Exemplary representative for the school for basically 60 years. Hell of a run.
-
Not sure 3rd team is doing that kid justice. He was basically unblockable in every game.
-
Levis is a good comp. I was thinking Carson Wentz but I think Levis is better.

Allar’s a pretty interesting case. He looks like he was created in a lab and his stats have been great for a couple of years. But when you watch him you never, or at least I never, think “Yeah, that’s a Guy.”
