(2027) PF - Jeremy Jenkins
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Watched 1 of his OTE games last year, a soul sucking experience every time. The “analyst”, in the spirit of ridiculous OTE overhyping, compared Jenkins to Karl Malone. Putting aside that’s a really bad comp, the guy calling the game with him, obviously a top shelf ball knower, DID NOT KNOW WHO HE WAS. Laughed and laughed. -
Kid’s got Cassius Winston written all over him.
-
Assuming that the kid isn’t, ya know, Art Schlichter what’s the risk/reward line for his draft status. Will someone give up a 3rd for him? No one gives up a 2nd, surely?

(2027) RB David "Tre" Segarra III to LSU

Can honestly say that in both football and basketball if a kid is interested LSU I am not interested in them. -
I’m sure this won’t impact their player rankings going forward in any way, shape or form.

Yig’s fouls are a thing. Kid averaged something like 3.5 fouls in, I believe, 27-28 mins a game. That’s a lot of fouls, though maybe the B1G style mitigates some of that. But the way they’ve built this thing makes it pretty obvious that they think Sisley’s a 25ish minute player. Not sure I buy that, but it’s probably defensible.

When you’re an Izzo you get to do this. MSU’s had more President’s than Spinal Tap’s had drummers and now they’ve lost their AD to boot.

This is pretty wild. IUFB-OSU is on Saturday and right now tix on SeatGeek start at a little over $400. IUBB-UNC on Sunday. If you can do both of them for basically $500 that’s a pretty compelling weekend opportunity right there.

This might be fun. A lot of interesting questions for both teams.

Undersized corner without a great offer list. Haven’t had much luck with a kid like that. Wonder what his dad’s Twitter handle is? -
Will be really interesting to see what Wemby’s mentality is going forward. This may sound like a weird comp, but I’m old so this is what hits me: when Houston had Sampson and Olajuwon, Hakeem was laser focused on the things that made him a winning player and didn’t care at all about expanding his game past that stuff. Sampson bristled at being in any way limited. He wanted to be transformative in the way Wemby is and seems to want to be going forward. 1 of them became an all-time great and 1 of them didn’t. I don’t want to restrict what Wemby does but he has to understand how much advantage he gives away in a big situation by throwing up a 27’ step back instead of being comfortable just establishing on the block and going over his left shoulder with a jump hook that’s uncontestable. But I’m not sure that’s how it’s gonna go. His mentality feels a little more Sampsonish than Hakeemish. Hope not because the kid’s amazing.

Man, I don’t know what you do with Fox. 4 and 230 or something like that, who’s taking on that thing? But Harper has to play. What’s the biggest contract that’s ever been just straight up waived?
-
The look on George Mikan’s face when Conerway approximates something like this on him with no call would be a sight to see.

CTC is everywhere

Not many guys have taken an axe to their reputation the way Fox has in the last 10 days. Johnson sticking with him over and over late throughout the playoffs was just horrific decision making. And now the the Spurs have a problem. The guy is about to start a 4 year extension averaging almost 60m a year, there is no universe where you can play him ahead of Harper going forward and he’s completely untradeable for probably the next 3 years. Doubt seriously that he’ll be comfortably down with being the 3rd guard.

Interesting the way Branham phrased that. Think it’s fair to say Bell is the headliner for most of those guys. -
My new favorite. Putting aside that he’s nothing at all like Mitchell, Brown’s floor is a more athletic version of a guy who’s played a million years and given you 20 a night.
-
Props where they’re due. This guy’s board is a little funky but has the virtue of Wilkerson at 45.

Wondered how long it would take for someone to go there with Yamagata. Travis got there real fast. -
Modern rules? A stone beating.
