  1. It’s Tipton, so take it for what it’s worth. But it really doesn’t sound that nuts to me at all. I’m sure BYU paid huge for Wright but I’d really like to know what UM paid for Cadeau.
  2. The plot change from Maekar giving his blessing to Egg going with Dunc to Egg just busting out and lying about it is a pretty giant alteration. Will be really curious to see how that’s dealt with.
  3. Personally I’d rather win at basketball than football. Just means more to me. But, I agree with the point USPS has made several times about IUBB that if you hire a good competent dude and give him appropriate resources he’ll win. I’m comfortable DDV will win here. Whereas, what Cignetti has done is complete unicorn stuff. I legit believe no other guy in the country could have done this. So it’s the choice of both being relevant or 1 being relevant. So, yeah, it’s Cig.
  4. Speechless. Absolutely speechless.
  5. Remember thinking when his visit photos hit that he looked like Casey Affleck’s son but yours is better.
  6. Love. This. So. Much.
  7. Absolutely lovely A shining example that immense talent does not require spectacular genes from BOTH parents.
  8. Thoughts? Other than PU having no shot I agree with this. Would have had TTU in tier 3, maybe even the bottom of tier 2, before the Toppin injury.
  9. Who else is watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms? Wasn’t going to because I kind of hate House of the Dragon other than the actual dragons. But I busted out the 1st 4 episodes Saturday morning and it’s phenomenal. Great lead characters. The supporting characters fit incredibly well. Egg may be my favorite child character ever. Love that kid. And the short tightly packed episodes work so well. And the parts of the trial of seven shot from the Dunc perspective in episode 5 was pretty inspired and the entire episode was compelling as hell. Big, big thumbs up.
  10. This deal has now moved on to pathetic. Dude’s 25 years old. Played 1 year at Kentucky and had basically no impact. Entered the draft and went undrafted. Has been bouncing around the G League and done nothing. But sure, let’s give college another try.
  11. Our new BTB software just informed me that, in answer to Jimi’s question, I am, in fact, experienced.
  12. Not that much. Visited for HH a couple of years ago so I watched a couple games when he was a Soph at Tindley. Then he went to Legacy Early College, Coen Carr’s school, last year and got to see him play a game at a showcase event. Lefty. Good athlete. Has 1st step explosiveness. Very offensively oriented. Not sure I’d call him a PG. Remember thinking he looked like a kid who would probably end up at a MM but was toolsy enough to have a chance to portal up in a year or 2. But if he’s dropping 50 bombs on people I may have been low.
  13. RIP to the great Doug Moe. One of the most important coaches ever. His passing game system was 30 years ahead of its time and is the basis for 5 out motion. That he effectively blew up traditional system roles and turned everyone on the floor into facilitators was wild at the time, to the point that a lot of people thought it was literally playground ball.
  14. Got to confess, despite him being in 2 of probably my 5 favorite movies ever, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Godfather, and knowing that he was objectively great, never felt like I was really a fan of Duvall specifically. But then you look at the filmography in print and it’s just nuts and you realize that he wasn’t just great, he was GREAT.
  15. Are those times correct? Are 3 of them on at the same time? They couldn’t do 2 630’s and 2 830’s?
  16. The insanity of NBA draft Twitter is always good for a laugh. Here we have a guy intrigued by a player because his profile compares closely to a player on a 2 way who’s played all of 25 games in the League in 3 years. Not knocking Chinyelu, I think he’s a good bit better than Tshiebwe for multiple reasons, but this is the least flattering comp that’s supposed to be a compliment that I think I’ve ever seen.
  17. Just like Ellison last year, love it so much. How do you build a sustainable culture in the portal era? Like this.
  18. As much as I like Moody if he’s your PG next year either someone has gotten hurt, maybe a couple of someone’s, or their plans really went sideways somehow. He has some PG traits and he has the chance to evolve into a primary facilitator down the line, but he’s not Kinney or Rippey who’ve always been PG’s. That would be asking a lot.
  19. Getting the early start on the next guy.
  20. Yup. Despite the UCLA game, and their crowd is terrible, this game feels too big for Dorn. And if he’s not making shots he has no way to help you. I’d like to see Conerway find some rhythm. Maybe not this game, but that cross match that Purdue was doing with Enright and DeVries would be highly exploitable with Conerway on the floor and playing well.
  21. Jesus, this team has so many tough matchups. Their best is Final 4 good.
  22. Richardson is such a great example. The Pierce throw might be an all-time play, but how is just straight missing open guys with open throwing lanes not considered an arm talent problem?
  23. Yup. I think this is winnable, but not 72-68 winnable. It’s maybe 85-82 winnable. None of your 3 primary scorers can have a 1-9 game. And, man, I wish Boswell was out 1 more game. Easily their best perimeter defender.
  24. Other than, ya know, The Play and the Ponds pick 6 this was my favorite play in the playoffs. Lasers a throw from the left hash to the right sideline into a hole the size of a milk crate. Nuts. On QB evals I’ll never get why the arm talent data point isn’t essentially binary. When people talk about this kid not having “elite” arm talent, what are they actually talking about? What throw in an NFL playbook has he not demonstrated that he can make comfortably? Watched 4 Oregon games this year and I really need the explanation for why Moore has “elite” arm talent and Mendoza’s has “good” arm talent.
  25. Somewhere south. The kid played at a school in, I think, Nashville last year. Also has a brother who’s a giant Mongoloian kid who I thought was at LaLu as well but he’s not on the bench for this game.
