Why is that puzzling? How many mid range shots has he taken this year? Not many and some of those are just last second desperation shots. He next to never takes a big away from the hoop

You addressed his question but for me it’s size. Has he consistently played well against guys as big or bigger than him? No. He struggles almost everytime he squares off with someone 6’10” or taller with any skills. That’s all there are in the NBA

He probably knows he shouldn’t… he knows. If he shots 25% in practice there is no rationale to do it in a game, even if your coach is ok with it. race has no problem pulling the trigger but he probably shouldn’t

Yes, the offense is awfully constructed/utilized. Yes, why have two guys out there playing starter roles that are really only good at shooting that rarely shoot? They aren’t good defenders and aren’t good at much else so if they aren’t shooting in volume then they aren’t useful

Exactly. If Hunter or Fife want the head job, they need to win as assistants and make it hard for Dolson to look outside when the time comes. Woody being successful will lead to them getting the IU head job or a head job somewhere else.

Fair, I would hope that every assistant wants be promoted to a more senior role. If our assistants are getting offers from other big name schools then that means we are performing at a high level and just need to reload like Alabama football does - other schools poach their assistants like no other

Not a knock at all, but not sure it’s really that attributable. He may have had the scout role but there was just soooo much strange stuff that occurred that i find it hard to say “the scout job” was the difference maker. our All-American that never gets into serious foul trouble got into foul trouble immediately and forced us to change everything. If I’m Geronimo I spend the entire summer shooting 3s and free throws. He has the athletic ability and motor to be a 2 year starter at the 3 or 4. I haven’t seen a guy his size block shots like he does, both his man and coming from the week side. I like Race a lot and I think Geronimo has the chance to be better than Race when it’s all said and done

IU first and foremost just needs to make the tournament. next is staying off the 8-9 game. That is a death sentence

While his injury is TBD, we have been very fortunate thus far. Injuries, while the suck, are very normal when you have 13 guys practicing and playing at this level. I feel for him as a senior missing any time but IU has been lucky thus far this season

He’s really not. Is he better on D than O, yes, but people act like he is all bigten defensive team and he isn’t anywhere close. Not even our beat defensive player

Seriously? Every team starts 5 guys. So Woody has changed the lineup, what? Once? And why did he do that? Because one of his starters got in trouble, not due to poor play or someone else deserving the minutes more he has stuck to the same awful starting unit all season despite the numbers showing that it is an awful unit. They are a negative and 8th best unit he has trotted out. how does that make any sense?

What are people projecting here, top 100 type player? Top 50? Top 25? Top 5? hes clearly talented, just don’t have any perspective

Yeah, we all want to see our best lineup play a ton, start, finish etc but he seems to have no urgency to do that. our starters are the 8th best lineup. I’m not seeing the urgency to be better. We are playing with one hand tied behind our back every time he does this we can’t get out of our own way
