I’m no expert but would think we need to hold court in our final two home games to get to a 3

Love Woody and Trayce but GOAT is overused. You cannot have one goat to another, it’s not possible

Bracketology and Team Resumes

Andy Katz has IU at #5 in his power rankings https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2023-02-13/houston-alabama-lead-power-36-college-basketball-rankings?amp -
That’s right, IU has to be thinking about our next coach and networking at all times - be ready so you don’t have to get ready mindset. they should always have a short list ready and already understand the likelihood that list is realistic. im not pining for woody to leave but regardless of success, he has a shorter expiration date than most other hires

Winning out could put us on the 1 line. That would be a crapload of Q1 wins -
Of course, we have no idea if woody will be here 1 more year or 10, likely somewhere in between. We have no idea if Lewis will be primed and ready to go or if he flamed out. all just fun speculation and relevant when your coach is older than 90% of coaches in d-1

Lewis will be the most obvious choice to take over for Woodson should he have Ball State rolling and hasn’t jumped to a power 5 yet. it’s going tj be important to see what he does with a cycle of his own recruits. We’ve seen too often coaches come in and find immediate success with a former coaches kids like Mike Davis, Juwan Howard and a bunch of others but they cannot sustain it.

I’m going to go with Loyer, his dribble drive curls to the hoop are pretty consistent and we haven’t been able to stop that all season

I couldn’t agree more. While we are currently on a nice streak and playing well, we left a lot on the table. your scenario was very realistic and should have been but isn’t. 17-4 is what I think is a realistic expectation of where we should be and had we , we would be top 10 and fighting for a 2 or 3 seed and a bigten championship. unfortunately we might have played our way out of those things already

Thanks, that’s kinda what I thought. So… is it that people are avoiding contact with him? Curious if TJD can go right into him and challenge them to call the foul. I think trying to go around him is a mistake because he is so long and can recovery quickly with his reach

Has Edey been in foul trouble this year? If so, how did the opponent do it and how did his supporting cast fair without him?
-
I understand that statement but could also counter it with, how many 3 star freshmen guards did Woodson have to start after his all-American went pro early? purdue is doing a lot with very little - I think we still have a lot regardless of injuries and are playing great right now but have had major lulls in effort and organization even prior to the 2 injuries. im happy they are playing better now and was not one trying to call for Woodsons job but I still believe we had/have all the pieces to win this league and are likely already out of it due to some major lapses early on

We have held weaker opponents down but when it has come to the tougher opponents, we have struggled defensively and that is/was supposed to be the calling card of mike Woodson and this team. I wouldn’t say holding XU to 79 was a good defensive effort, nor Kansas, nor Arizona. That is our selection of ranked teams and it’s been been pretty bad. Yes, our defense has showed up against the middling to lower level teams so when it is adjusted it looks ok.
-
Our defense was pretty bad outside of that when it mattered - Kansas and Arizona had their way with us
-
Still think it is way too early for this. At 6-4, I still feel this team has underachieved: there is no reason we shouldn’t be up there with PU competing for the bigten title. I just don’t think PU has better players nor more experience so it’s frustrating to watch them run away with the title

Is Kentucky in the tourney if the season ended today?
