If JHS is a top 10 pick it means we likely are also a top 10 team this year as we know what we are getting from the other starters. Top 10 means legit title contention and I will take that possibility all day. Just leaves us super bare for the following season

Yep, it’s usually friends of the program, shoe companies, agents etc. it’s not like UK and Duke nor IU for that matter were putting families on the payroll. the point that some refuse to accept is that Crean and other IU coaches were more than happy to allow Adidas and others to serve up recruits on a silver platter. IU has played in the dirt for a long time, we just tried to stay dusty instead of filthy and for what I’m not sure

Are you suggesting the recruiting rankings are way off on JHS? Cody was also close to being a top 10 recruit too. We’ve had a decent amount of 30ish ranked players and all of them have needed some time to adjust to college

And every one of our 1 and dones have been top 10 recruits - EG, Vonleh and Romeo. JHS is a top 30. That doesn’t mean he can’t be but he would be the first in IU history to be a 1 and done and not a top 10 recruit

IU has to win early. We are returning 4 starters and starting 3 seniors. that’s should benefit us early in the season when teams with younger talent are still trying to figure things out. if IU struggles in those early matchups I will be very concerned - there is no reason for that

If JHS is a first rounder and goes pro after his freshmen year that likely means IU was a top 10 team. We know we have other pieces, JHS is that mystery component and if he is nba material we are in for a fun season

There are plenty of kids that go to good schools that aren’t that bright. He might be worthy of an elite academic school but maybe not

In that scenario she is Bob Knight so for most people, that was a nice compliment

Because he isn’t a lock to be great. He has all the tools but still hasn’t put it all together yet. he will no doubt be good but Duke, KU etc don’t need to gamble on “upside” they can go after other top 20 players that have already put it together and are more of a sure fire thing. I would have been excited for him to come to IU but hoping we get someone else that we are equally or more excited about

Todd Lindeman situation JHS has a long neck and big head. Look at his shoulders compared to X, almost the same which is more important than the top of your head
