  1. I think we all agree on this. That is different than the bully ball/bigten officiating part though
  2. Yeah, I think had he been healthy and played against Miami he could have stopped that penetration from Pack that JHS just couldn’t. galloway is all out effort so I can’t fault him but Pack and the guards for Miami were a step quicker there too. We just didn’t have anyone to match up with their quickness. That poor start killed us
  3. We all do, but NIl has provided a market value that can be tested. Player says I need $200k and the market determines whether he gets it. Either from the existing university, a new one or neither. I had a ton of hope for Geronimo and Bates to be awesome this year and they were mostly just ok. Leal, Banks, Gunn and Duncomb really only played in garbage time. I like the ide of kids coming in and staying 4 years but there are other options now should they not pan out. Curious if we get a defection or commitment first
  4. This is important - style of play yes, way bigten games are officiated, no. Those are two very different things. bigten players do not bang and hack anymore than the other leagues, that is a fact. I have done this analysis in big East challenge, acc challenge, NCAA tournament and fouls/officiating differences are not the issue and in fact could be argued the other way that the other leagues are more so than the bigten. perception matters but this is not a reality no matter how many coaches and fans say it is
  5. The reputation is false but exists because fans and people repeat it like it’s a fact. Bigten doesn’t allow anymore than any other league. A wing has every bit the opportunity in the bigten as another league. It comes down to as Stu said, what types of players the bigten recruits and gets.
  6. Our entire league played 13 games and only had 3 players foul out and only a few more that even had 4 fouls and the other leagues we played against out fouled the bigten 17-14 avg per game. our players are not aggressive/active enough all that other stuff is just stuff the other leagues use to negative recruit with and our own fans run with it.
  7. In the 2023 NCAA Tournament where the bigten has a losing record, playing from behind where they are more prone to fouls at the end of the games…. the opposition out fouled our bully ball/football style 218 - 179 this notion that the bigten breeds a bully ball, no fouls, bang and hack players game is wack. It doesn’t translate to reality and that reality is that when the bigten plays other leagues, the other leagues are more physical, more aggressive, more foul prone than our bigten teams
  8. Not sure any of this jives with reality. Did IU get into foul trouble? Who was whining all game about not getting the whistle? No, IU did not get into foul trouble and we’re looking for the refs to bail them out over and over while Miami just played. state facts. This is lazy af
  9. The other leagues are every bit as physical as the bigten, the bigten is just slower/lacks athletes I’m sick of this lazy argument, there is zero substantive evidence to support this. It’s not like IU lost because they fouled out today nor any other bigten team
  10. I would take him
  11. I like the idea of adding top players from good mid major teams. 2-3 guys like that could be what we need
  12. Would Painter be better at IU than at PU? despite yesterdays performance I believe he is a very good coach and knows how to get players that fit his needs. that said, while he gets the types of kids he wants, they are usually 3 star level players. Could he get those types but 4/5 stars if he were at IU?
  13. Where would the sweet 16 game be held for IU should they beat Miami?
  14. Better to steer clear
  15. Very selective choices there
  16. It’s been evident on Tv but even more so yesterday watching up close IRL - our 3 point shooters don’t want to shoot. We run zero plays to get them open and when the ball is kicked out to them, it’s rarely received in the pocket with the player firmly planted and ready to shoot. when they do catch it, they are thinking pump fake, drive, pass. Why? They packed the lane and gave us open threes and we passed them up all game.
  17. That was between games when everyone was up walking around and going to concessions and bathroom. It’s way more filled in then that
  18. Looks like every Wisconsin big that has kicked our @$$ for the last 20 years
  19. Not sure that equates since Iowa had more blocked shots, more defensive rebounds, more offensive rebounds, more second chance points…. they are a tough matchup because we can be piss poor on our perimeter defense and are always needing to help and Iowa has no problem working the ball around, making the extra pass which left their shooter wide open almost every time
  20. I see what Stu is saying but tend to agree with you. having JHS as a one and done “CAN” help the staff recruit other one and done type talents so “IF” it plays out that way over and over and we get a JHS level player every year it is a good thing. However, that has yet to be seen and as is currently a big “IF” so until we backfill him with another like talent, it’s a negative for IU
  21. More than likely a layup:)
  22. This year playing against TJD every day in practice is/was his best chance to learn. hopefully he excels more in volume mins next yer
  23. It is pretty shocking looking at all the normal stats that usually reflect the outcome and it is all in the Boilers favor except for the final score it was one of the more odd wins but one of the best ones I can recall
  24. Did you not record it?
