  1. Now back that age discrimination thingy up, youngster. /s I am older than that and I have at least 6 good months left. I could coach the Hoosiers basketball team just as well as 1/3 of the posters on this site. Maybe. And that 5 million might help buy some tshatshke. Or a 31-year-old bride. Naw, don't need two of them.
  2. Heck, we may have gotten lucky on the draw. Oregon and Penn State will likely lose lots of players to the NFL. Here is hoping that they don't excel like this year. Kind of like what happened to Michigan and Washington. We took advantage of that. Again please.
  3. 5-Year Deal...Belichick to UNC Football HC - $10 Million / Year https://www.on3.com/college/north-carolina-tar-heels/news/bill-belichick-contract-north-carolina-reveals-hc-to-sign-five-year-deal-contradicts-initial-report/
  4. You migh Think: Is it real life Or is it just fantasy Caught in a landslide
  5. Obviously, I posted a Haiku first limerick is joke
  6. The green football team in South Bend Were overrated from end to end In just a short time ND fell down at the line Honors to IU through the holiday weekend.
  7. Football is winning Round ball needs threes and defense Regardless I cheer
  8. My thoughts, too. Checked the sizes of some DL. Oregon lists a starter DT that is 6'5" and 310#. Other DL around are not quite that big. DLs run smaller than their opposites on the OL. That plus Hopper is a RS Soph. Circumstantial, yes. Still, his highlight video is an eye opener. And he produces. And gets noticed.
  9. Good question. Looked at his offers out of high school. He had a bunch. They included Oregon, TN, S. Carolina, Auburn, GA Tech., NC State, UNC, AZ St. He took two unofficial visits: TN and GA Tech. Official visits to: East Carolina and App St. I glanced through some historical blogs and articles. Seems in or around the time he arrived at App State, he may have had foot and/or knee injuries. Do not know if he had those in HS. Also here is some family football information from an article linked below: Hopper (6-1, 280) is latest in a line of a football-rich family from Shelby that also includes cousins in UNC linebacker Tyrone Hopper, Florida linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper and Boise State tight end Tyneil Hopper. Lampley was a mainstay on the defensive front for a Richmond squad that went 12-1 during his sophomore season. https://bonesville.net/2021/02/08/defensive-report-card-pirates-lure-experience/ He seems aggressive on defense. Let's get him and see if he can handle big and talented OL in the B1G.
  10. I have been underestimating IU football and overestimating IU basketball. Continuing that... Indiana Hoosiers 17 Notre Dame Little Grinches 24 IU has struggled against really good lines. ND has 2. And their QB is mobile. OSU stadium was noisy. That disrupted IU. And OSU figured out our snap count. If IU gets ahead...there is a really good chance. Please let me be wrong. IU will hopefully win by a 'Touchdown, Jesus'! Revising this estimate. I just realized that IU my account had been hacked. Probably by Barrell Rick or his enablers. (/s) My revised and perfect guess is posted later...in accordance with the writ from Thor.
  11. In order to deal with Mgbako's non-offense related issues, there are three or so choices: 1. It must be determined if his awareness, recognition and rotation can be improved, and how (Maybe the coaches need to do some sort of head check on him. Does he have normal reactions? His offense indicate that he does indeed have an elevator that responds quickly. Then why not on defense? Fundamentals? Is development possible for him? Does his practice emphasize defense, too?); 2. RMK said that the best teacher is pine time; and 3. I hate to say this but if the above two points do not do the job, then try to minimize his negative impact while on defense by surrounding him with good defensive-minded players. The above three points, I know, are known by all here. So, I apologize for stating the obvious. Sorry. Otherwise, and I hate to say it, maybe it would be a better fit if he did go pro...at the end of the season. Well, after reading Golfman's post just above...maybe he is right...simplify the defense. We really do need good defense.
  12. Bad sportsmanship award this week goes, in part, to the arena announcer at the Nebraska vs Michigan State game. Nebraska was behind and getting hosed. Nebraska player got fouled and stepped to the line to shoot free throws. The arena announcer broadcast over the loud speakers just as the player was shooting. Really classless and bad form. Almost as bad as those court-side advertisements that flash. Classic for MSU.
  13. Corndogs will be up for IU in reaction to being way down at Michigan State. Indiana is over the 2/3rds of the hump! 80 Corndogs near rock bottom 70 The 2/3rds of a hump that IU got over are effort, and defense. Extra help was sharing the load on offense and the defense was stabilized, somewhat, by the bench. Woody is still here...ahem. The players seem to have put on their big-boy britches. Ballo, Carlyle, Tucker, Goode, and Galloway played their hearts out and turrned the MN game around. Others, too. This difficult road game will be a huge tell. I am a cup is half-full of bourbon type of guy. We do have a bench. Rebounds, free throws and defense...get r done.
  14. Defense is slacking. And our assists and rebounds are down.
  15. Roids? That's the hump he is trying to get over.
  16. If they play hard and extend the lead, are they over the hump?
  17. We have 15 rebounds and 12 assists. And IU is out there playing like they mean it. Loved Ballo diving on the floor and saving the ball.
  18. I am a Galloway fan. But he is sloppy sometimes. His trying to hurry, sometimes, plays against them. 3 turnovers? Lots of good assists. They are out there hustling.
  19. The passing and sharing on offense is improved.
  20. They are now. Ballo and Reneau were engaged on offense. But the first 10 minutes the defense was more than suspect. Now Tucker is cooking. So is Goode...on offense.
  21. He goes in spurts. Lack of concentration at times. Seems to be having fun, instead of being at work.
  22. Get excited! It is not a dumpster fire, yet.
  23. Rebel Yell, Banker's Club, Jeffer's Creek, Black Powder - A poverty pour series of bourbons NSFH. These $9 and up, under aged, under proof below bottom shelf bourbons...water is better than bad bourbon. Knowing is half the battle. The hangover is the other half. The above are reportedly worse than Old Crow or the Barton's. I have a soft spot in my head for Old Crow. My first surprise sip...long story. I have never bought any of the above. Yet. Just finished my New Riff SiB. For having only 4 years, New Riff is putting out decent product. But for around $45, there are better values out there. Letting my body rest for a few. Or until halftime.
  24. Those 'elite colleges' referred to are the very ones that control the NCAA.
