  1. Thanks for posting this. I wonder why IU doesn't post stuff under the Questionable section like: Defense; effort; rebounding; coaching; and finally...what IS the hump?
  2. Hopefully, Oregon and Penn State will have most of their starters gone to the NFL. That opens the door to what happened to Michigan and Washington this year. Which could mean that those games are put into tossups. Let's go undefeated next season!
  3. That is my perspective, too. I was surprised that IU hired Archie Miller. He was on my list but not in the top five. OSU might have supported Archie Miller more than what I perceived as setting Archie Miller up to fail. (Since that time Dolson and IU has learned a little about how to support a head coach.) Did Coach Cig bring a batch of players from JM? Yes. Was Archie Miller allowed to bring his PG from Dayton? No. Could Coach Cig make sure that some players did not come back? Probably. Could Archie Miller get rid of certain players that were not performing all of the time and had issues? No. Was Coach Cig allowed to search all over for players to fill needs? Yes. Was Archie Miller allowed to go anywhere and get anyone to fill needs? No. He had to recruit Indiana first. And there was the grade/turnover issue, too. And money for staff. Which is better? Pack-line defense? Or Nail-slot-rim defense? Ans: Neither...unless you have talented players that buy in to the program and the process. Archie Miller had that at Dayton. Not allowed to at IU...at first. Then it was too late. Fans chewed on the coach and players. It was toxic. This is getting toxic, too.
  4. It's inconceivable. Woody staring at Ya. It's like getting hit full Medusa. Ya grabs the silver mirror disk and deflects the stare. OMG!
  5. Dan D is an entertainment sports commentator. Conflict and hate are entertaining and mobilizing. Therefore, his modus operandi is to talk hate and controversy. It takes no preparation to be against something. That is why he does it. Ignore him.
  6. By the powers vested in all of the fans and the administration and the media and all others that have ever even walked the hallowed halls and areas of SSAH and The Rock, and/or have frequented this excellent site, you are hereby granted a conditional pardon and made a honorary true fan and provisionally excused from any and all SNAFUs and brain farts until the end of the season. Unless, of course, Indiana loses a football game or a basketball game which is rumored to have been your fault or anybody's fault, or no fault, including Woody's fault, can't be Cig's fault, or refs' faults. Additionally, unless, of course, we otherwise change our minds...and communicate that fact on this site. Except, provided however, that you do not enter the top half of any prediction thread results. To this we dutifully and faithfully communicate our opinions as facts. (Maybe, just maybe, I had one too many cups of coffee.) (Portalstravaganza is definitely worth the price of admission. Well done.)
  7. I would like to thank the Academy for this award. And all those people that made it possible. Starting with everyone with points below me.
  8. Stuhoo's selfies:
  9. I've some of that. Fresh roasted, ground, good and hot! I was thinking about feeling sorry for some of their players last night. Just kidding. Hahahahaha
  10. Do it! Do it! Do it till you're satisfied.
  11. 58! We need two TDs and one point after. Or one TD and two field goals. And an oaken bucket.
  12. Is it likely that IU will be rated above 9th seed for the BCS?
  13. Until today. Purdue has always sucked, though.
  14. I would have lowered my prediction of this game. But, I paid no attention to the B'town weather prediction. And I was watching the OSU loss. Plus, the soccer NCAAT game in Denver was on. Glad I didn't change my guess.
  15. Agreed. Was in the Navy. Old timers loved that stuff. Still use it but sparingly on crabcakes and a little on some toppings for fish. Not much though. If you drink enough Ouzo, it won't taste bad.
  16. Tell the cameraperson to move the zoom in a little closer. They do not have to show the 5th row of the far side and the bench on the near side during each play. Feel like I'm watching from Ohio.
  17. Sweet. Taking the fast route without sharp cuts. Defense cannot defend it. POTFB.
  18. IU soccer vs Denver in the NCAAT 3rd round starting in 13 minutes 4 ET. ESPN+ I get it on HULU Live TV.
  19. Now for soccer. Go IU!
  20. Nothing but class in the shoe...both teams.
  21. True. The OP did not say that. He said something like: "...read between the lines..." about conditioning. Clearly teaching how to win; practicing how to win; doing the work necessary to win are vital. Crean is a very hard worker. He is smart too. But he oversells everything. And he misses the most important things to get good execution on the court during games. Sometimes one has to try to get the best out of certain matchups. Keep it simple. And working harder does not mean working smarter. A lot goes on in the months leading up to the season. And one has to look at stamina and focus in the last 24 hours before a game. Just wish he would focus on the basics rather than playing 5th-dimensional chess and promising to attain all of the universes. These are college students. They do not need 400 sets. He is a decent broadcast analyst. Sometimes, he recruits well but mostly does not put the right pieces together. Just not a great coach.
