  1. Jeez. After reading this thread and getting depressed, I asked myself what could be worse than the above scenarios. So I took off my bifocals and washed my face...after taking out my hearing aids. Took a few ibuprofen, my meds... Then I reflected on the basketball program at IU since RMK and started looking for my bourbon. But I am out. I really like college basketball. Correction, I really liked college basketball and football. And I hope to like them a lot in the near future. But the worst thing may be happening. The P5 universities and conferences that really give direction to the NCAA have botched college sports. If any of us are left that think that college sports is not being bought and sold to the highest bidders...then enjoy it when the Alabamas and Ohio States of college football scene are in the BCS4 every. Single. Year. How is professional ball doing with their salary caps? I can't wait until all players have corporate pins and patches and logos on their uniforms. And the referees are also paid directly by the home team or the university that paid the non-P5 college to visit. That will be the single worst thing to happen. Oh, did I miss something already? PS: I really am a cup is half full kind of person. Excited for IU basketball! And for the players getting some fair compensation. But wonder about the all mighty dollar and the corporations, etc. I have a wonderful family and friends...and actually, for real...I am not and never will be out of bourbon.
  2. I'd follow Stuhoo through hell and high water or into a bar if Stuhoo was buying! IU 35 Barf & Gag 0 Other than astronauts and the Subaru Outback that I have...the only good thing out of that place up north is...ugh...nothing.
  3. Shocked! I am shocked! Oh my.... (Hoping for a participation trophy...) You may not believe this but I foresee an IU win over Purdon't. And I will wager all of my 703 buffalo chips.
  4. Maybe because he has been listening to Barrell Rick...
  5. We all most likely realize as you do that ranking is secondary to winning. Especially early in seasons. Especially if it is not the metric used by the NCAAT selection committee. Having said all that, it is something that we fans can complain about or brag about. It is an easy handle to discuss and easily compare in an acknowledged not to deep way. Much easier than saying this team beat that team on day one by a few points and comparing that and a myriad of other parameters to a bunch of teams over time. Back to the point...IU will get ranked if they keep winning; do better in the 2nd half; keep control of turnovers (under 15 or so); and shoot well; assuming defense is excellent; keep healthy; beat tougher competition.
  6. Hit the road, Jack 59 Crimson turnover over and over 81 JSU @ Marshall https://gojsutigers.com/news/2021/11/21/mens-basketball-tigers-fall-on-the-road-to-thundering-herd.aspx
  7. I knew some people that worked at a municipal wastewater treatment facility. They had a saying: "Your waste is our bread and butter." Guess it was a job they could sink their teeth in to. Hey, just going with the flow...
  8. Go to BTN website and pull the game up.
  9. Well, I do have QB Mc running for 100. And IU winning this game. And I will admit knowing little about this game. Do we count deflections?
  10. Indiana 87 L-L Mudbugs 66 Phin scores 10 points and doesn't take the air out of the ball; XJ doesn't commit any fouls; TJD only shoots going right; Race pops 3's; Trey Galloway plays for 1 minute even with his arm in a sling; Lander dunks the ball and leads the team with assists; Geronimo plays for 8 minutes and scores 14; Kopp and Patrick Stewart both hit 8 of 8 free throws...
  11. Mc runs for 100 yards and doesn't throw any picks. Indiana has McFadden not only as DB but as RB. Tom Allen doesn't get excited and takes over as OC. Special Teams are very special. Minny plays down to the competition and loses 3rd in a row. Mini Soda 14 Indiana 24 And there is peace on Earth. Everyone is enlightened. Love is everywhere. Everyone hugs trees! LEO! Far Out!
  12. Read on Fox that Trey's injury is not season ending. Left wrist is broken. https://www.foxsports.com/college-basketball/trey-galloway-player

  14. I lucked into guessing the St. Johns score. Even a blind pig can find a truffle every once in a while. str8H...thanks for doing the yeoman's work on this challenge. Let's see if my random number generator hits again in any of the upcoming games...
  15. A couple of things...but, overall I agree with the above post. Phin should only handle the ball at PG only for very short periods if the defense needs boosting. And only if there are others in the CG/SG/CF/SF lineup that can create. There was a lineup in the second half that seemed to not have the spark. It may have been with Phin, Kopp and Stewart. Not sure though. I was shocked at Xavier not hitting critical free throws at the end of the game. And Phin missed two too. And TJD too. IU had 9 turnovers in the 2nd half and that along with Champagnie getting 22 points in the half almost killed IU. We needed someone to stop him. IU did well in the paint. But, if another team has a great inside defense then what will IU do? And when Posh Alexander got 4 fouls and taken out by St. J's coach...then put back in...why not set him up for the 5th foul and get him out of there? Our bench was really good. IU will need some serious scorers next year to replace those that will move on after this season. Between IU's inside game and the bench and the defense in the first half...that won the game. St. Johns scored 10 more points...47...than IU in the 2nd half. IU's lack of defense in the 2nd half almost lost the game. IU dodged the bullet...SSAH was great...loud as all get out all game....3 - 0! Fun stuff.
  16. 11 minutes to tipoff. As of about 9:01 ET.
  17. I am so very fired up for this game. Everything is hype to this point. So cheer on IU! I am really excited for IU this year.
  18. Game Day! Here's the latest news. TJD tweets that this is a tournament game. Osterman of Indy Star hypes game and makes people worried just because. Gabe Cupps CG commits for 2023. From Redstorm: https://redstormsports.com/news/2021/11/16/mens-basketball-st-johns-heads-to-indiana-for-gavitt-tipoff-games.aspx I speculate that neither St. Johns or IU are bubble teams. With good guards and IU's TJD and Race clicking...just a couple of shooters and we're golden for the NCAAT. St. Johns will get in too. I never lie and I always tell the truth. (But, I know very little about much.) Except IU is waaaay better than last few years.
  19. Hi. Online IU Athletics first. They have tickets for $48. Maybe some returns, I don't know. Stubhub and the thread in this fan site for tickets from other fans. Good luck. Read a little about being careful in any purchase. I know that people buy and sell and/or give away tickets just before the games...as one approaches the SSAH. Buying the latter way may not be legal...and they could be counterfeit...not that I have heard that. I gave away one once to a parent wearing IU gear.
  20. From perspective of representing municipalities, schools, toll roads, or banks and/or those that package the bonds...municipal banking or financial advisors...? Personally, I don't have a dog in the hunt. But with the Finance BS from IU-B and close relatives worked for City Securities...just asking. Really looking forward to a challenging game against St.J! Will be interesting. I love the improvement in our team play from game 1 to game 2. Seems that St. J also had improvement in their game 2.
  21. Congratulations on passing the bar. Likewise, I was more than relieved when I passed the Professional Engineering Exam....back when we used the abacus. Now it's time to hit the bars. Study tarts not torts. In the St. Johns game, very glad IU has XJ handling the ball. Seems that St. Johns biggest issues will be IU's defense and turnovers. IU's will be hitting 3's, front-line fouls and playing a whole game.
  22. Nothing is wrong with them according to Josh's post above. The injury report is old. Please disregard.
  23. Read online injury report that Trey, Race and Parker were game time decision. Also that for St. Johns: Tareq Coburn G was out; Posh Alexander G; and Julian Champagnie G were game time decision. Do not know if that is current.*According to Josh's post below this injury report is not current and please disregard. Champagnie is a combo forward that will be a challenge. This link is to a scouting report: Julian Champagnie – NBA Scouting Live. Posh Alexander got awards as a Frosh. Too early for really good data but Kenpom has IU at 36 and St. Johns at 46. BPI for St. Johns 31 and for IU 65. Read on a St. Johns fan forum that fans really like the team. They have upgraded personnel. Shot well the last game. Those of us that wanted a tough game for a litmus early in the season...well, this just might be it.
  24. Gavitt game against St. Johns looks to be exciting. Relatively late game...9 PM ET on FS1. St. Johns looks like really good competition. Like IU they have won their first two. They shot 40% from the 3; hit 50% of their shots; made 80% of FTs. Fans think that their 5 Joel Soriano can post up, can box out, stays home on defense but needs some work on d. They do have a really good group of players and shooters. But IU is better, I hope. IU 83 SJ 74
